ALDUB for a mobile network

Just hours after the second meet up of ALDUB, Alden Richards and Maine "Yaya Dub" Mendoza, they teased us again for another endorsement, now for a mobile brand.
The two included in their Instagram and Twitter posts the hashtag #ALDUBforTNT which gives way for them endorsing Talk N Text network.

Tetext ko na ba siya? Papansinin niya kaya ako? #AlDubForTNT

So when is this new ad going to air? Sa tamang panahon.

The September 12 episode with hashtag #ALDUBTheAbduction also broke the 5M record of #ALDUBBattleForACause in September 5, which garnered more than 6M Tweets and landed #1 trending topic worldwide. We already know that Duhrizz, played by Wally Bayola, was the mastermind of the abductions of Alden and Yaya Dub.

NOLI at FILI 2000 review

Watch PETA's Noli at Fili Dekada 2000 not just for your academic requirements. It should be deeply understood and examined how it concretely reflects the Philippine society as how it was seen by Dr. Jose Rizal during his time.
In this adaptation of Rizal's great novels, it starts with one issue that is greatly attached to us. Flooding caused by illegal logging which happens to be protected by the government and the church which secures personal interests and profit at the expense of the little people. We are also exposed in the wrong doings of those in the people's levels that resembles corruption on so many levels. I just wish that many would be able to watch this.

I like how they started the play with this relevant issue. Water flows like rain from the ceiling and the actors gave an effective visualization and feels of what's going on in an actual flood tragedy. They kept the sense of Noli and Fili, and the actors Lucho Ayala and Kris Bernal playing Ibarra and Clarissa, not only provided the "celebrity" touch to the production, the roles of Rizal's novels were properly internalized.

Then the fights were intense. Gun fires are almost realistic with sparks and sounds from the stage. In a way, the audience were captured from every corner of the theater as the cast comes in and go.

With the good production value invested in this, we hope that we will be able to reflect and think about ourselves especially at these times. Put our conscience to what's right and hopefully that the nation will be great again.

PETA's Noli at Fili 2000 will return this October 10 and 11. For tickets, you may call 725 6244 or +639175765400.

2016 9WT Theater treats

9 Works Theatrical teased me a lot in their page on what they'll be having on stage for 2016. Be ready for casting calls for these productions:
If you know these productions, here are the information to confirm your guesses:

AMERICAN IDIOT
Since it's September, Wake Me Up When September Ends would be appropriate to release this teaser. Based on the music from the band, GreenDay, this really excites me to be part of 9WT's theater season.

TICK TICK BOOM
Another Jonathan Larson musical, this autobiographical production would be very relatable to us in terms of career choices.

THE WIZ
A spin-off from The Wizard of Oz, this musical is based from the 1978 film starring Diana Ross. The music is composed of soul sounds and featured all black artists from Hollywood.

We don't have final show dates yet but stay updated by following this blog. There is another show that is produced by 9WT and it "aims to please." It will be running from February to March, in time of love month. If you want to know more, like the 9WT Facebook Page.

Loving this mash up clip.

Have you figured them out? Auditions real soon... #2016Season

NO FILTER 2.0

If you were born before the turn of the millennium, you consider yourself as a Millennial. And you face issues that only you could understand. And these issues will be discussed -- again, in the rerun of The Sandbox Collective's NO FILTER that we'll be looking forward this October 3-25 and will happen at the Power Mac Center Spotlight in Circuit Makati.
Featuring a series of monologues and multimedia performances, the production explores anything and everything millennial—from the evolution of social media, life after college, the woes of work and finding a job, pursuing one’s passions, Tinder, intimacy, finding love, success and happiness, among other issues.

The fun and bubbly cast returns with Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Lauren Young, Saab Magalona-Bacarro, Mikael Daez, Cai Cortez, Sarah Facuri, Micah Munoz, and Khalil Kaimo. They will be joined by Sam Concepcion, Paolo Valenciano and Carla Humphries on stage for new monologues. Take a look at these videos:

With critically acclaimed director, Toff De Venecia still at the helm, No Filter 2.0 promises to be a new and improved version of its widely successful first run—a refined but similarly raw and honest portrayal of what it means to be millennial in this day and age. For tickets and other inquiries, call The Sandbox Collective at 585-6909 or 0917-8996680. Tickets may also be purchased through TICKETWORLD at 891-9999.

RICKI AND THE FLASH movie review

Meryl Streep fans like me definitely love her more in RICKI AND THE FLASH as she gives off more of her singing and acting skills as an enstranged mother by her own family to pursue her rock and roll career. A happy go lucky woman that just rolled out her dreams and left everything of her obligation, Linda (Ricki) also changed her identity how she perceived everyone would want her to know.
Since the movie is partly musical, Meryl Streep once again proves that she can sing. With rock and roll as her genre, she can be a queen. Her growls and pitches are seamless and she's got good diction to match it with. She can also do a mix of country and pop rock and still sound incredible. She also rocks on a youthful glow with her long braids hairstyle and guitar skills.
Try to listen through this Spotify playlist:

A touch of comedy with Kevin Klein, the dysfunctional family also touches the souls of everyone who will watch it. It is very advisable to reconnect with everyone in the family in this movie. It is just so very touching because it revolves around the story of a lost mother. This movie also aims to realize that we should be happy that we have one. It also wants us to reach out to every member of the family, no matter how we value our own selves, and to support and understand what they want to be. There's always second chances and they are always better.

RICKI AND THE FLASH also stars Mamie Gummer, Audra McDonald, Sebastian Stan, and Rick Springfield. Opening on September 9, exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas, distributed by Columbia Pictures Philippines.

PIXELS movie review

Thank you Resorts World Manila for the exclusive screening of PIXELS. PIXELS is another Happy Madison movie that you could almost relate to every detail in it. From teenage years until you realize that it is a throwback extravaganza with a twist.
Well it started from 1986 when I was still 2 years old, and then got familiarized with video games in 1989. When I got acquainted with arcade, that is when I can already relate with Brenner, played by Adam Sandler, who almost did not have any time for other things. Like many individuals, we also have this one bully that haunts us for life; in Brenner' case Eddie (Peter Dinklage) that successfully gets what he wants and tormented Brenner until his adulthood. More ironic stuff in the movie were Brenner's dumb friend turns out to be the president of the country and the sore loser gets to win a hot girlfriend.
The movie is a feast in the eyes of a video gamer. Gallaga, Centipede, Pacman, Donkey Kong, and more were present and they're set to destroy the earth. But then there are the good guys, QBERT is one of them and helped Brenner and the gang to save the planet. Millennials would be very pleased to see all 80s and 90s stuff in the pile and would be talking about the games they played during those days.

PIXELS is a good movie in 3D as it gives great visual impact with the colors and attacks on the effects. You'll love to see the characters go out of the screen and enjoy the humor that goes with it.
PIXELS is directed by Chris Columbus and distributed in the Philippines by Columbia Pictures (Philippines).
