Experience Hong Kong Disneyland with SM Supermalls

I've always wanted to go to Disneyland as it is the happiest place on earth. Not just to see Mickey Mouse and the gang but also to relive childhood memories with fairy tales and to believe in happy endings. Wish I could go there one day. The last time I almost got into it was when I was in Hong Kong for a business trip.
By the way, Hong Kong Disneyland is celebrating it's 10th anniversary and now they are having more exciting offerings aside from the existing attractions in this theme park. They will be having new shows, anniversary-themed food choices, new characters and improved facilities within the whole Disneyland! One is Mickey and the Wondrous Book, a new musical to bring you inside the adventure of Mickey, Goofie and Olaf and enjoy great songs and performances by your favorite Disney characters, princesses and more.
You also get the see new attractions like how the Disney castle lights up the night with new projection show and an amazing fireworks display.
You can also see these fairy tale heroes all over the place and take pictures and cherish the meet ups in the Garden.
If you ever get tired and would like some sweet and satisfying treats, come to Disneyland Hollywood Hotel or Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel. Have a taste of the 10th anniversary-themed treats.
Getting excited yet? You can sing-along with the Hong Kong Disneyland 10th Anniversary theme song with talents Reymond Fegi and Raki Vega:

For the books: Sam Claflin and Emilia Clarke star in ME BEFORE YOU

Game of Thrones' Danaerys, Emilia Clarke, and Hunger Games' Finnick Odair, Sam Claflin, take roles in a romantic movie this June based on the best-selling book by Jojo Moyes -- Me Before You.
Oftentimes you find love where you least expect it. Sometimes it takes you where you never expected to go --

Louisa “Lou” Clark (Clarke) lives in a quaint town in the English countryside. With no clear direction in her life, the quirky and creative 26-year-old goes from one job to the next in order to help her tight-knit family make ends meet. Her normally cheery outlook is put to the test, however, when she faces her newest career challenge.

Taking a job at the local “castle,” she becomes caregiver and companion to Will Traynor (Claflin), a wealthy young banker who became wheelchair bound in an accident two years prior, and whose whole world changed dramatically in the blink of an eye. No longer the adventurous soul he once was, the now cynical Will has all but given up. That is until Lou determines to show him that life is worth living. Embarking together on a series of adventures, both Lou and Will get more than they bargained for, and find their lives—and hearts—changing in ways neither one could have imagined.

The film also stars Charles Dance (TV’s “Game of Thrones”), Jenna Coleman (“Dr. Who”), Matthew Lewis (the “Harry Potter” films), Vanessa Kirby (“About Time”), Stephen Peacocke (“Hercules”), Brendan Coyle (“Downton Abbey”) and Oscar nominee Janet McTeer (“Albert Nobbs,” “Tumbleweeds”).

Sharrock directs from a screenplay by Jojo Moyes and Scott Neustadter & Michael H. Weber (“The Fault in Our Stars”), based on the book by Moyes.

New Line Cinema and Metro Goldwyn Mayer released the trailer just recently. See the trailer here:

50 Shades Manila heats up

Hope that you're more than ready, physically and emotionally, when you watch 50 Shades: the Musical Parody that's opening on February 12. The perfect Valentine event not just for couples out there but for the whole mature audience. Content is very much explicit but incredibly funny so you have to prepare a lot of tissues to wipe tears of laughter and who knows what else. LOL
The book club opens the our senses with the book and getting into the universe where we explore the mind of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey in a lighter way. This twist disses the book and movie with the hilarious music, incredible and sexy cast comprised of foreign and our local artists that will make us ask for more with no inhibitions. Don't worry that even if you didn't read the book or no idea at all about 50 Shades of Grey, you will surely enjoy the Book Club, Anastasia, Jose and Katherine Kavanagh, most especially because of Christian Grey. But I'm still glad that all of the characters have equally shared the limelight and you'll love all of them.
50 Shades's music includes a lot of metaphors and directly mentions all dirty things you can imagine and you'll love it. Tunes are very catchy and memorable but you don't want to play it on loud speaker. You'll be clapping excitedly and laughing out loud on songs, especially "I Wanna F*" by Christian Grey.

50 Shades releases not only the inner goddess but also the alpha male and will leave you hungry for more. It will leave you imagining all possibilities but make sure to "focus" on what things should be done. Hahaha! Congrats to the cast and director Al Samuels who also wrote the hilarious songs. The local cast and creative team, continue to sprit some fun to the audience.

Running for "69" minutes with a 15-minute "quickie," 50 Shades the Musical Parody turns the temperature up from February 12 to March 5 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City. Presented by Vivre Fort Entertainment and 9 Works Theatrical.

PETA's 3 Stars And A Sun - review

So it's a dystopic setting for PETA's 3 Stars And A Sun, providing a storyline based on Francis Magalona's patriotic pop-rap songs that many of us would have not imagined. Re-imagining like how PETA did with Rak of Aegis, the musical has got a strong message on family and nationalism.
Getting inside the Stormdome gives you an idea that the musical is somehow dark. Until Bodjie Pascua leads everyone to stand and sing the National Anthem. It is a proud moment that you have to sing it despite the distractions from the actors which is kind of the start of the play. Make sure that you proudly sing Lupang Hinirang voluntarily.

If you look closely, lighting direction of 3 Stars form the Philippine Flag. Colors Red, Blue and White are dominant in most part of the musical, representing the two different sections of society -- red for Diliman, the lower sector; white for Lumina for the high society; blue, which should represent peace has no sector because it was missing in between Diliman and Lumina. At least that's how I see it.
Costume design gives you a flashback to the likes of Hunger Games and Divergent series. Again, they try to show the division of the society into 2 sectors. The selection of characters were also noticeable on how they classified each member of the cast to Lumina and Diliman.

I think it's understandable that patriotism is an overall message for "3 Stars." As notable in Francis Magalona's songs, he opens up to the youth the sense of loving the Philippines as events turn us slowly towards foreign patronage along with our pursuit of progress and peace. It's a combination of love, friendship, betrayal, and loyalty that will touch the patriotic heart in you. This musical immortalizes Francis M with brilliant performance and message. Just in time for national elections but I hope the message remain in our hearts forever.
PETA's 3 Stars And A Sun runs starting tonight until March 6 at the PETA Theater Center. For tickets, www.ticketworld.com.ph, 8919999

Disney's ZOOTOPIA

First Disney movie for 2016 gives an energetic take where all animals, predator or prey live together in one community that is Zootopia. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it’s a melting pot where animals from every environment live together—a place where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything.
We follow rookie officer Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) prove herself as a good and lawful servant, cracking a case even if it takes her to partner with a scam-artist fox Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman). Being the first bunny officer, she finds herself within big and tough fellow officers.

Joining Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde is an assembly of unique characters that will surely become future fan favorites.

Chief Bogo (Idris Elba), a cape buffalo and the stern (yet goofy) head of the Zootopia Police Department. He is reluctant to add Judy Hopps to his squad of hardened rhinos, elephants and hippos.

Mrs. Otterton (Octavia Spencer), a desperate otter who turns to Officer Judy Hopps for help in solving her husband’s mysterious disappearance.
Leodore Lionheart (J.K. Simmons), a lion and the noble mayor of Zootopia who coined the city’s mantra that Judy Hopps lives by: “In Zootopia, anyone can be anything.”

Assistant Mayor Bellwether (Jenny Slate), a sweet sheep with a little voice and a lot of wool, who constantly finds herself under the foot of the larger-than-life Mayor Lionheart.

Duke Weaselton (Alan Tudyk), a small-time weasel crook with a big-time weasel mouth, who tries to give Judy the slip during a police chase.

Yax the Yak (Tommy Chong), the most enlightened, laid-back bovine in Zootopia. When Judy Hopps is on a case, Yax is full of revealing insights.
Benjamin Clawhauser (Nate Torrence), Zootopia Police Department’s most charming cheetah who loves two things: pop star Gazelle (Shakira) and donuts. From his reception desk, he greets everyone with a warm smile and a helpful paw—covered in sprinkles.

Flash (Raymond Persi), the fastest sloth who works at the DMV (that’s Department of Mammal Vehicles).

Bonnie Hopps (Bonnie Hunt), Judy’s mom, and Stu (Don Lake), Judy’s carrot farmer dad. They are worried about Judy moving to Zootopia and the untrustworthy big-city mammals who live there—especially foxes!

Finnick (Tommy Lister), a fennec fox with a big chip on his adorable shoulder.
"Zootopia” is directed by Rich Moore and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International through Columbia Pictures.
