DUNE to hit big screens in the Philippines starting November 10

After more than a year of spending at home, the Philippines will again experience the big screen starting with Warner Bros. Pictures' Dune on November 10.

Director Denis Villenueve says "The epic adventure has been made, designed and dreamed to be seen on the big screen. Directing the movie adaptation of Frank Herbert’s seminal bestseller, Dune is considered one of the most influential books of the 20th century and credited with inspiring many of the greatest films of all time.

A mythic and emotionally charged hero’s journey, “Dune” tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity’s greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.

When it came to casting the many roles, Villeneuve and the producers assembled an astonishing list of actors to fill the coveted roles, including Timothée Chalamet as our hero, Paul Atreides, alongside Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem, David Bautista and many more. Watch the cast invite everyone to see Dune on the big screen.

Only in cinemas starting Nov. 10, “Dune” is distributed in the Philippines by Warner Bros. Pictures, a WarnerMedia Company.

MOVIE REVIEW - Reminiscence

Warner Bros. Pictures new sci-fi and crime movie gives a subtle message on the effects of climate change with an inception case going on. Reminiscence stars Hugh Jackman and Rebecca Ferguson.

Hugh Jackman is Nick Bannister, a mind investigator who looks on the memories of his clients. He is being challenged by his new client (Rebecca Ferguson). A simple case becomes an obsession after she disappears and he fights to learn the truth about her.

In a world getting submerged under the water due to the effects of climate change, there would be new opportunities grabbed by the rich. In Nick Bannister's technology, the memories become of high value as these become new evidence of crimes. It also has become a person's prized possession to review again and again to feel the memories.

While the movie concept is nice and the storyline is just light, I think there is something lacking that will glue you into it. It didn't have to be the police or whatnot, but solving the crime that transpires is already okay. Hugh Jackman and Rebecca Ferguson's reunion brings you back to The Greatest Showman with that irky feeling and expectation that they'll sing again -- at least for Ms. Ferguson.

Reminiscence is already playing in theaters in the US and you can also access it in HBO Max.

Hugh Jackman and Rebecca Ferguson reunited in Warner Bros. Pictures' REMINISCENCE

From their previous project The Greatest Showman, Hugh Jackman and Rebecca Ferguson star in Warner Bros. Pictures' action-thriller Reminiscence, written, produced and directed by Lisa Joy. The following trailer brings them in the sunken Miami with a futuristic approach.

Living on the fringes of the sunken Miami coast, his life is forever changed when he takes on a new client, Mae (Ferguson). A simple matter of lost and found becomes a dangerous obsession. As Bannister fights to find the truth about Mae's disappearance, he uncovers a violent conspiracy, and must ultimately answer the question: how far would you go to hold on to the ones you love? Watch the trailer below.

Alongside Oscar nominee Jackman (“Les MisĂ©rables,” “The Greatest Showman”), Ferguson (upcoming “Dune,” the “Mission: Impossible” films) and Newton, (“Solo: A Star Wars Story”), the film stars Cliff Curtis (“The Meg,” “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw”), Oscar nominee Marina de Tavira (“Roma”), Daniel Wu (TV’s “Into the Badlands,” “Warcraft”), Mojean Aria (TV’s “See” and “Dead Lucky”), Brett Cullen (“Joker”), Natalie Martinez (“The Stand” and “The Fugitive” series), Angela Sarafyan (“Westworld”) and Nico Parker (“Dumbo”).

MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE FALLOUT movie review

Make time to watch Ethan Hunt's newest mission in Mission: Impossible Fallout in theaters starting tomorrow, July 25. Tom Cruise proves himself invincible in his latest death-defying stunts that you will have your mouths open as you munch your popcorn.
Don't miss any scene and make sure to pee before it starts playing. Each scene is as action-packed as the next so you cannot leave your seat. The return of Ethan and his IMF gang is more powered and I think Benji (Simon Pegg) will take a greater credit in this movie. The tactics and plans to take on the bad guys had leveled up and makes it greater than the original series.
The women of MI6 are also equipped with good fighting skills especially Ilsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson) that holds a secret to the mission. I had to look at IMDB about the other casts and surprised about Princess Margaret, Vanessa Kirby, as White Widow who showed her knife skills and maintained her composure and elegance in the movie. I almost didn't recognize her, really.
Fallout also gave very interesting twists like how Henry Cavill appeared primarily as an ally then turned out to be Hunt's enemy. He was one tough antagonist for Ethan and the plot twist is riveting.
Seeing Mission: Impossible Fallout in IMAX will be very exciting and also scary for the thrilling and explosive actions.

Sing along with The Greatest Showman in SM Cinemas

I am a fan of The Greatest Showman for many three main reasons: THEATRICAL, MUSICAL, and HUGH JACKMAN. But when I saw it, I instantly also became a fan of the songs and especially Keala Settle belting out This is Me. I happen to be streaming the soundtrack featuring songs by Academy Award winning lyricists Benj Pasek and Justin Paul since and I couldn't miss a day without studying and memorizing the lyrics.
But fortunately, we can now all sing with Hugh Jackman, Zack Efron, Zendaya, Keala Settle while watching The Greatest Showman as SM Cinemas bring the sing-along version of the movie starting February 7 in select theaters. Follow the bouncing top hat for every hit song with intricate visuals and dance choreography following the rags to riches life of PT Barnum, the greatest showman and founder of the Barnum & Bailey Circus, and the beginning of show business.

The Greatest Showman also features Michelle Williams and her emotional Tightrope song and Rebecca Ferguson's Never Enough, sung by Loren Allred. Be inspired and Rewrite the Stars with Zac Efron and Zendaya.
Listen to the official soundtrack and see you at the movies!

THE GREATEST SHOWMAN movie review

I expected a theatrical extravaganza in The Greatest Showman and it did not disappoint. Visually appealing and with a strong message of equality it conveys, The Greatest Showman is a must-watch for all -- for a good time, for a dose of musical theater, or something to ponder on.
The inspiration of the movie is a not unfamiliar with all of us. How a visionary made his dreams happen to be able to give a good life to people he loves and P.T. Barnum is an inspiration with his dedication in fulfilling his dreams and how he is as a father and husband, an artist and a businessman. No doubt Hugh Jackman fits perfectly for the role just as he puts on his red coat and top hat.
Songs are very heartfelt as if the cast gives every song message directly to you. The Greatest Show to start with prepared you for a fantastic show indeed. A whole line up of songs goes with the story line very well from start to finish. Never Enough is emotionally-triggering and a very strong This is Me gives high encouragement that you will bring until you go home. This Is Me deserves its Globe award and Oscar nod.

I also applaud the spectacular choreography of our unique characters displayed. Rewrite the Stars is a great sequence if we can see it live but you will enjoy most of the movie.
Zendaya and Zac Efron (Rewrite the Stars)
The Greatest Showman is showing January 31 in cinemas and Imax. Distributed by 20th Century Fox (Philippines).

We're glad Hugh Jackman does a musical again

The first trailer of The Greatest Showman has the Moulin Rouge feels and I love that our favorite Aussie gets to do this movie. Hugh Jackman plays the title role as PT Barnum.

Inspired by the imagination of P.T. Barnum, The Greatest Showman is an original musical that celebrates the birth of show business and tells of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a spectacle that became a worldwide sensation. Watch the trailer below:

The film also features Zac Efron, Michelle Williams, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson and more. Directed by Michael Gracey and written by Jenny Bicks and Bill Condon. With Music by John Debney (Jungle Book) with Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the writers of the songs from La La Land.

The Greatest Showman shows this Christmas in the US.
