DESPICABLE ME 3 movie review

What's not to love about Despicable Me 3? The minions, Lucy and the girls are with Gru redefine his nature as a true villain as he traces his roots meeting the long lost twin brother Dru. Together they will bring down a heist caused by an 80s bad boy Balthazar Bratt. Despicable Me 3 opens in theaters June 14.
Prepare for dated laugh as it was more humorous for the adults than for the kids. Watching it last night had more appeal to the adults with the 80s-themed music and inserts that will transport you through time. Balthazar Bratt (Trey Parker) makes your imaginations into reality with all the gigantic robots that try to destroy entire cities with its laser eyebeams -- just like in the old Japanese shows.
Margo is probably going through puberty. Agnes still dreams of unicorns are true and her adorable cheeks still captures the hearts of every one. Edith is somewhere in between that will support any of her sisters but still has a huge chunk of childhood in her. Good that there's Lucy to watch over them, coping with the whole parenting thing that relates to all first time mothers undergoing the process.

Of couse, we don't forget he minions now led by a new character, Mel, who initiated a union against Gru as they missed being bad and helping Gru in heists. The potatoes found themselves in new experiences and soon they'll discover they can survive without a boss but still returns to him because they just missed him.
Gru and Dru finding each other will just connect it to the feels of having a sibling. An adjustment period was just too short since they still had their villainous blood in them that had bonded them right there and then. Somehow the movie fails to give emotional connection on this aspect as you can only tune in to resolving the problem caused by Balthazar.

THE BIG SHORT movie review

So I don't want to pretend that I really like THE BIG SHORT because it has a very intelligent context about the big financial recession of the United States during the late 2000's. I am not very well versed with the stocks, bonds, funds, etc. so it is better for you to have full knowledge of the financial terms to be able to relate much in this movie. But if you really got a hold of your money, this movie is for you.
One reason to watch it maybe is you got Ryan Gosling, Christian Bale, Steve Carell and Brad Pitt showing one by one in the big screen. If you have a fanatic sense with these four, you'll be served well. Their roles are something you've never seen before. They're well, fine, and sometimes giving the feeling that they may be trying to play on you and your money. Admire them for that and the writers as well.

At least they've managed to give the balance among these A-listers and even helped you with a few items if your discombobulating with the terms. You will be surprised as what gives what and in a bit, I liked them all too.
THE BIG SHORT opens January 20. Distributed by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.

THE WAY WAY BACK movie review

a feel good movie that encourages you who you want to be, is how i see it in Jim Rash and Nat Faxon's THE WAY, WAY BACK.
Duncan (Liam James), is a shy 14-year old who is locked in the family under his submissive mom, his mom's overbearing boyfriend, Trent and his daughter. spending the summer with them wasn't very easy for him until he finds Owen, a manager of Water Wizz, a water theme park work he also finds opportunities for his own improvement.
Liam James as Duncan
i guess the casting for this movie is one thing that i would really praise about. the story too would be very conveying on the message that a person makes the choice on how he wants people to treat them. as for Duncan, being used and bored to death of how he lives his life, he finally grew some balls to face any predicament. this is one story where you would hate Steve Carell for his character. you'll hate him on putting Duncan down, how Trent cheats his girlfriend and just how he puts himself acting as a father to Duncan. a very well-executed character that you'll put yourself into the situation and would not allow something to happen like that. sometimes, a person cannot face the change on his own, thanks to a person like Owen (Sam Rockwell) who opens up the potentials and makes you feel better, and better in the eyes of other people.
Liam James and Sam Rockwell (Owen)
this inspirational story would tell people that consider themselves losers will find ways to get out of their bad situation. this would be a self-help story that feature hope, love and step into the limelight of their lives.

THE WAY, WAY BACK is an exclusive to Ayala Malls Cinemas opening September 11. to get more information about movies and ticketing, just follow @MySureSeats on Twitter.

DESPICABLE ME 2 movie review

and so Gru comes back with his adorable minions and adopted daughters in this cute sequel of Despicable Me. Despicable Me 2 tells us the life of a converted Gru (Steve Carell) from a madman to a reformed father to his 3 daughters. the former villain living a peaceful life was off to another adventure that would either put him back to his old self where he's comfortable while the life of the people he loves is at stake.
with a classified mission to take down a villain that wants to rule over the world, Gru experienced dilemmas that may affect his personal life. a kindling love story of his recruiter from AVL (Anti-Villain League), a woman named Lucy, which his adopted daughters easily got along well with; and a young love sparking with Margo. but with Gru's strong will didn't stop him to fight against these problems and brought back the people, and minions, that he love.

in this movie, we'll see that Gru has turned up more to be a family man, now that he has a woman to cherish with. started with providing for Agnes' birthday party, his skills and gadgets and also made ways of making the family affair more exciting.
of course, the Despicable Me experience is not complete without the fun and cute minions that will entertain you from start to finish. there's really something that makes these banana-eating potatoes adorable. we'll have more look of Gru's minions at work, at play, or at mission, and how they got most of the spotlight in this sequel.
as a whole, Despicable Me 2 gives out the strength of Gru and exposes his weakness in relationships. how he makes his persona to be protecting what he has. a less villainy Gru now trying to save the world that makes him a better father image.

Despicable Me 2 is now showing in theaters, and distributed by Solar Entertainment Corporation. don't forget to stay until 3 scenes during the credits as it would be fun with minions. i guess there'd be another sequel. hmmm.

THE INCREDIBLE BURT WONDERSTONE movie review

you're in for a good laugh with Warner Bros. Pictures' latest offering, THE INCREDIBLE BURT WONDERSTONE. starring Steve Carell, Steve Buscemi and Olivia Wilde, this comedy will not disappoint you even as you leave your seats starting March 20.
BURT WONDERSTONE (Steve Carell) is a Las Vegas entertainer who performs with his partner, Anton Marvelton (Steve Buscemi). through the years, the two have been giving shows to Las Vegas visitors with their magic. also night after night, the two are doing the same magic routines. Burt has also been consumed by his fame and fortune, setting aside Anton and believing that he can do everything on his own.
but when their performances had become stale and adding the competition with new age street magic by Steve Gray (Jim Carrey), Burt believed that his magic cannot be replaced. he has also been consumed by his fame and fortune, setting aside Anton and believing that he can do everything on his own. to regain his power and survival, he had to confront his own shortcomings by reuniting with Anton and his humanity by doing the most-daring stunt nobody has ever done.
Burt Wonderstone will give you a comic relief from start to finish and that Steve Carell never fails to give funny stints with a personal kick at the end. men would really envy Steve's characters from each movie for he gets great chicks. Keira Knightley for Seeking a Friend and now Olivia Wilde for Burt Wonderstone. it was also just so funny that he keeps calling her Nicole when her name is Jane but takes it back knowing it all along. Steve there is an unlimited number of punch lines and acts that may gross you or laugh your lungs out. hairdo and that rock star look is very funny itself. but parental guidance is recommended for some scenes.

it would be a very nice Steve Carell and Jim Carrey movie but Steve Buscemi is fit for the part. Jim Carrey's buff body added to Burt's insecurities to himself as a competitor in the magic entertainment scene.

DATE NIGHT movie review

enjoy couplehood adding spice and thrill to your relationship as what the Fosters did on their DATE NIGHT. Phil (Steve Carell) and Claire Foster (Tina Fey) has put themselves to a lot of trouble when they intentionally claimed other people's restaurant reservation and dealt with the consequences of mistaken identity.

instead of fighting over, the two realized the strength of their marriage by helping each other. it may seem ridiculous at times, they continued to support each other during great trouble that they had.

having Steve Carell and Tina Fey in one production is like seeing another edition of Saturday Night Live - - couples edition. laugh your hearts out with witty relationship humor delivered in DATE NIGHT.

DATE NIGHT opens in the Philippines on April 9 2010 distributed by 20th Century Fox.
