PEOPLE LIKE US movie review

in People Like Us, Sam (Chris Pine) rediscovers a new segment of his life just as he knew that his father died. he had a sister which she never knew about as his father hid it from him. so as to fulfill his father's wishes, he looks for the lost sister and tries to learn how to love her like they belong for a long time.
when his father left him with a huge amount of money, he was ecstatic feeling that the money was his. greed empowered him to claim the money himself by trying to brainwash his "sister" with good deeds. but what keeps him intact is his family duties, bit by bit he had things that took him sometime to make up and cope up for the lost time with his family, so much to his mother (Michelle Pfeiffer).
in this comedy/drama, everyone will be addressed that a family makes you complete. and it makes you search for something good in everyone. and yes, the title itself puts to note that whether what you're doing in your life, it's not the money that can make you happy but the people around you, especially your family.

THE BOURNE LEGACY movie review

hats off to all Filipinos who made the movie THE BOURNE LEGACY a success. yes, i was one of the lucky people who first saw the movie here in Asia where we could be proud of our own countrymen cooperating with the Hollywood team to make this movie done.
it's just that we have proved our warm hospitality once more. as Solar CEO Wilson Tieng describes, film making will be more fun in the Philippines. Solar Entertainment is the exclusive distributor of The Bourne Legacy here in the Philippines.

as the movie would be the fourth installment from the Bourne series, so you'll expect great stunts and blasts. i am just really curious and excited on how the Philippines will be shown in this movie. earlier this year, the movie was shot in different parts of Metro Manila - Pasay, San Andres and even my hometown in Marikina. it was about 45 minutes of chase on roofs, and even got more death-defying as they rush into the streets with cars, affecting locals, etc.
i just like that the Philippines was shown in its better perspective as many would say that it was a sex capital and all the factors in a red light district. it was also in awe that we have good facilities like computerized, centralized and globally hooked security system, state-of-the-art medical facilities, etc. it would be a great pleasure for us if it would fit in our reality soon.

The Bourne Legacy opens August 8 in Philippine theaters.

YIN YOGA to start a healthy and positive lifestyle

really, this is my first time to do yoga. and to start it off, i want it to be positively done and not force myself twisting in the different poses of yoga. and that's why attending a Yin Yoga class would best suit me. from the stresses of hard work and too much thinking, i realized that i was living in a very Yan lifestyle.
the Yin and Yan, as known in Chinese tradition signifies balance in the body and even into our environment. Yin Yoga aims to bring back the balance in the body by loosing up your connecting joints allowing your body to move freely and relaxed. other than that, it would also improve your blood circulation.

try poses like the Swan, Butterfly, Half Butterfly, Dragon, and end with a Vitruvian pose. these poses last for about three to five minutes with normal breathing.
in Yin Yoga, you don't have to force yourself to bend and be flexible. Yogini instructor Dona Tumacder Esteban of Beyond Yoga will guide you and will just allow to your extent. achievement of those difficult poses needs constant practice plus it will give you the benefits of doing it.

My classmates at Yin Yoga
Beyond Yoga is located at the 3rd floor of Il Terrazo in Tomas Morato Ave., Quezon City.

BRAVE movie review

"everybody can change their own fate, you just have to be brave to face it." that would be an inspirational line i heard at the end of Disney and Pixar's latest movie collaboration, BRAVE. which opens today in theaters in 2D and 3D formats.
the story is about Merida, a princess who doesn't act like one. she is passionate about making her own adventures instead of staying inside the castle waiting for a knight or a prince to take her hand. this worries her mother, Queen Elinor, for not acting like a princess for one, setting aside all her plans for Merida. the conflict between mother and daughter raised Merida's anger to her mom and when she gets the chance, she puts magic to change her fate.
despite this conflict, the family keeps intact and she's got the coolest democratic father. King Fergus who leads the kingdom lets his children where they want to go and what they want to do. a perfect opposite of the queen and whom Merida goes very well.
Brave is sure to be a good movie but it just follows all the "prove-yourself" type of stories unlike Up and Wall-E. and here, there's no direct antagonist but herself, making the curse to work. it just signifies that we are our own enemies.

opening in August 1 in the Philippines, Brave scores a new princess through Merida but she's not a damsel in distress. in fact, she may save you from danger. but she's a little stubborn.
