LANCASTER New City holds first gift-giving to residents

Property Company of Friends, Inc. (PROFRIENDS) holds its first gift-giving activity to the growing number of homeowners last December 19, 2015 at the Leighton Hall inside the Lancaster New City community in Imus, Cavite. Dubbed as Santa's Little Surprises, lucky homeowners get to bring home great surprises indeed all courtesy of PROFRIENDS.

Attended by families from all over Lancaster New City, a short program was ushered by cute Christmas elves who danced in cheerful Christmas songs before the actual gift-giving commenced. Kids were then lined up and received their gifts which were handed by the elves. Everyone were indeed cheerful and excited as they were handed the gifts. PROFRIENDS confirms to itself that Lancaster New City is a family-friendly city while promoting love, peace and happiness among its patrons.

There would be more activities in store for the community aside from this and establishing its name by taking good care of the residents. There is also an ongoing Light Show by the activity center to uplift the community's Christmas spirit.

STAR WARS countdown: The Villains

3 days before Star Wars: The Force Awakens, let me give you a glimpse of who will be the new enemies and will destroy the universe. That's a bit exaggerated but I know you get it.

Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson and Gwendoline Christie (HBO's “Game of Thrones”) who play the evil triumvirate Kylo Ren, General Hux and Captain Phasma, respectively.

Adam Driver: [Director] J.J. Abrams had ideas very clear in his mind about the conventions that he wanted to upturn and things that grounded Kylo Ren as a character. Actually, character was something that he talked about the most. I feel like some of the movies are so heavy on special effects or visuals and lot of things get lost as far as two people talking to one another. And that was something that J.J. stressed from the beginning; it was all character, there was hardly any talk of special effects. When we first originally met and talked, it was all about grounding these people in a reality, even though it’s a long time ago in a galaxy far away. If no one cares about what’s happening or no one believes that these are people are real, then you won’t care about any of it.

Domhnall Gleeson: General Hux is probably one of the bad guys, depending on your point of view. He works with Kylo Ren and General Snoke, and is in charge of the military operation. He isn’t a particularly nice fella. J.J. Abrams is a very skilled director, and he’s got this unusual combination of doing big movies in terms of scale and budget, but also working well with actors and telling real stories. All those things together are very unusual to get in the same person. A lot of people are good at one or two of those things. This is large-scale filmmaking that feels like a real story and isn’t just effects. There’s a real energy in the performances. They really get everyone going before a take and you’re reminded that this is “Star Wars,” and that it requires a step up. So I hope the energy will be in the right place. I hope the story will move forward in a very interesting way. So, in the same way you’d watch one of the original three and not know what’s coming next, I hope we can do that as well.

Gwendoline Christie: Captain Phasma is the captain of the Stormtroopers. She is a malevolent force. She is not a force for good and she takes particular pleasure in her cruelty. I’m absolutely thrilled to hear that Captain Phasma is the first female Stormtrooper of any rank, and of course I’m even more thrilled to be playing that part. It’s exciting that something as iconic as “Star Wars” has embraced the future and has embraced the world’s need for gender balance and female empowerment. It’s incredibly thrilling for me to be playing that part and I hope it inspires generations of women everywhere to go forward.

Joining in are Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Max Von Sydow. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk are producing with Tommy Harper and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. The screenplay is by Lawrence Kasdan & J.J. Abrams and Michael Arndt.

In Photos: ALDEN RICHARDS in My Bebe Love bloggers conference

It's my first time to see ALDEN RICHARDS up close during the My Bebe Love #KiligPaMore bloggers conference held in one of the restaurants in Tomas Morato, Quezon City yesterday.

A really nice guy and open to answer the question whether it is related to the movie or not. As an ALDUB fan myself, I frankly asked him if he would really court Maine Mendoza (onscreen partner and other half of #ALDUB) off-cam. Here's his answer: (video by Erickson Dela Cruz)

So how is ALDUB on the set? Director Joey Reyes has all his praises to both of the actors, Maine and Alden, who worked very professional and sending good vibes so that the shoot are extra enjoyable and thankful that fans who clamor in their locations are disciplined not to disturb as the camera rolls.

MUSEO ORLINA: Through the glass

It was a day for the visual arts as I came upclose to a rising museum in Tagaytay City featuring the works of Mr. Ramon Orlina -- a one of a kind artist that gives eye candy with a clear perspective through glass art. Mr. Ramon Orlina is a recognized glass sculptor with works that can be seen in different parts of the Philippines. He is also recognized as one of People Asia's People of the Year for his creative works. Did you know that he is even nominated as a National Artist for Visual Arts, along with Carlo J. Caparas and others in the roster today?

His museum, Museo Orlina, is home to his best works and for new art to come which are for us to appreciate the effort and creativity that Mr. Ramon Orlina has put to his original pieces. Just located near the Olivares rotunda, the site is cannot be missed. Overlooking the majestic Taal Lake, the glistening waters also reflects and radiated in each and every glass sculpture inside the museum.

Inside this museum, you will see 4 floors of sculptures and paintings. A pure appreciation of visual arts from different artists collaborating in one extravagant display. There are also Renaissance-inspired pieces that you definitely want to take your photo with like this Pieta.

Across the halls are different pieces of Ramon Orlina. Lit from the center glowing like magic. The pieces were made from imported materials made into shape by diamond cutting. The piece is etched, smoothed and polished into remarkable art that we can see today.

More about Mr. Orlina. He is an architect by profession, graduated in the University of Santo Tomas. So that you can see the miniature of Quaddromontial, in memoriam of UST's 400th anniversary, in the museum. Busts of prominent personalities like Piolo Pascual and Corazon Aquino - not to mention an impression of Ms. Pilita Corrales' body leaning when singing is also seen in the display.

Mr. Ramon Orlina also has other collaborations with renowned National Artists like Bencab. At the parking area of the museum, there's a "Sabel" beetle.

Museo Orlina is one place where you can really express your artistry. Mr. Ramon Orlina also supports performing arts in the make shift garden stage located below the building. It also displays more art and can fit around 200 people celebrating music and art, plus the wonderful view of Taal Lake.

If you want to visit Museo Orlina, it is located at Hollywood Subdivision Rd., Brgy. Tolentino East, Hollywood Subd., Tagaytay City.
