Lin-Manuel Miranda voices a kinkajou in Netflix's Vivo

Lin-Manuel Miranda must be very busy with all the projects this year. From the successes of Hamilton, Mary Poppins Returns, In The Heights, and the upcoming Encanto and Tick, Tick.. Boom!, his soonest film is with Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation this August.

The Tony, Grammy and Pulitzer-award winner voices a kinkajou aka honey bear in Vivo where he voices the titular role. The musical animated film features the songs of Lin-Manuel. Hear a snippet of a song in the background of the release announcement below.

This Netflix film Vivo follows a one-of-kind kinkajou (aka a rainforest “honey bear,” voiced by Miranda), who spends his days playing music to the crowds in a lively square with his beloved owner Andrés (Buena Vista Social Club’s Juan de Marcos). Though they may not speak the same language, Vivo and Andrés are the perfect duo through their common love of music. But when tragedy strikes shortly after Andrés receives a letter from the famous Marta Sandoval (three-time Grammy-winning Latin pop legend Gloria Estefan), inviting her old partner to her farewell concert with the hope of reconnecting, it’s up to Vivo to deliver a message that Andrés never could: A love letter to Marta, written long ago, in the form of a song. The star of Oh My Venus, Kim Min-ah, plays Yoon Hye-jin who opens up a dental clinic in the seaside village of Gongjin. She’s got beauty and brains, but also a clumsy side to her. While being strict and a perfectionist, she’s got a warm heart deep inside.

On the other hand, Start-Up mentor and Welcome to Waikiki 2's Kim Seon-oh takes the role of Hong Du-sik who is technically unemployed but takes on odd jobs and helps everyone in the village. From delivering food to working at a convenience store, he’s a master of all trades. Smart and caring, he’s the hero of the village you can count on whenever you need assistance.

Malignant is a thriller story about a woman who sees visions of upcoming murders caused by a demonic spirit they called Gabriel who has been guarding her since she was young. Watch the trailer below.

MOVIE REVIEW - Lady and the Tramp

This review is quite late but at least I remembered that there was a live-action remake of Disney's Lady and the Tramp. I think this was the first movie they promoted when they released Disney+. So I went to watch it and to tell you honestly that the movie isn't quite bad.

Just how cute Lady and Tramp are if you look at them getting to know each other at the start, then sharing great moments together, especially during that iconic candle-lit dinner by the restaurant listening to a romantic song.

The opening really sets its mood but it felt like I'm watching a similar story of the guy who isn't from a rich family while the girl is, they met, they fight, they discover and understood their differences, get attached, get separated, then guy gets into trouble and the girl saves him. If you knew a familiar story, please tell me in the comments.
