new EPIC trailer revealed

you might have thought that it was Fern Gully but Ice Age director Chris Wedge delivers a nature-inspired epic entitled EPIC!
based on the book by William Joyce, "The Leafmen and the Brave Good Bugs," we are transported into another world with Mary Katherine (Amanda Seyfried), a teenage girl who discovers a world in the forest where a battle between good and evil is being heated up. the movie features the voices Amanda Seyfried, Colin Farrell, Jason Sudeikis, Beyonce Knowles, Josh Hutcherson and Christoph Waltz. you can watch the adventures of Mary Katherine in this new trailer.

the new trailer shows how Mary Katherine dwells in the forest with the leafmen and the other creatures. and how they plotted their war against the evil forces that puts the world in danger.

WOMEN honored in Galerie Anna

Galerie Anna's latest exhibition entitled WOMEN presents a contemporary presentation of the physical, emotional, psychological spiritual and sociological aspects of women.
Inspired by these aspects, 14 visual artists covey their appreciation with women through paintings on display today at the gallery. Dominique Alfonso, Fernando Antimano, Salvador Bañares Jr, Kevin Cerda, Leomar Conejos, Ronson Culibrina, Dino Gabito, Adrian Evangelista, John Marin, Jeffrey Salon, Bryan Teves, Erick Villaruz, JR Urao and Michael Zacharias applaud the beauty and fascination to the woman creature overlaid with rich imagination through the stroke of their brushes.

The exhibit was also in time for the celebration of International Women's Day happening on March 8, 2013. In honor of women, the designs show the different roles of women in the society, a mother, a lover, a part of the work force, the teacher and even the religious.

At the center of the gallery is Bryan Teves' Semana Santa, a real eye-catcher and a crowd favorite. Drawn from the inspiration of the Lenten Season, Bryan drew his sister's portrait like the crucified Christ. The portrait was copied from a photograph and immersed with the religious image. The execution was close to reality and everyone just can't take their eyes off it.

Semana Santa by Bryan Teves (detail)Two prominent subjects in art and history inspire artists, Frida Kahlo and Leonardo da Vinci's Pieta was depicted in detail closest to the techniques made in the real thing.

the CROODACEOUS family

in this pre-historic comedy, we are about to meet the world's first family that were confined into a cave for many years. after their cave was destroyed, their journey into a spectacular landscape has changed their outlook forever.
the dynamic family of the Croods is lead by the head, family patriarch Grug (Nicolas Cage) who supplies, protects and secures the kin up to its boredom. his over protection to his wife and three kids has concealed the family from the outside world. the eldest, Gran (Cloris Leachman) is the feisty mother-in-law who never gets tired of needling, and even sometimes assaulting, Grug. the matriarch Ugga (Catherine Keener) supports, and follows her hyper-vigilant husband, Thug (Clark Duke) stays and enjoys the static status quo as he does nothing. CIRQUE DU SOLEIL: Worlds Away movie review

James Cameron brings a wonderful visual masterpiece featuring the world's favorite acrobatic act in Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away. on March 6, 2013, capture the heart-pumping stunts and the magic of love in this wonderful movie.
the story is about Mia, a young woman who finds herself in a circus and entranced by an aerialist. an almost unfortunate event had separated them, the two were drawn into the magical world of Cirque du Soleil. in two tent worlds, the two witness different acts of Cirque du Soleil and their journey had drawn them back together.
as the movie is a visual masterpiece, you still wanted to see the real thing. the live show of acrobats are definitely more tasteful and exciting. as the movie was shot in a very dark studio, colors have appeared brighter and clearer. but knowing for James Cameron and his success for Avatar, the movie can stand in 2D rather than seeing it in 3D. i just hope they had treated it more with their movie magic. i think i miss some special effects.
Megaworld Lifestyle Malls brings this movie into their theaters exclusively starting March 6. check Lucky Chinatown, Newport Cinemas and Eastwood Cinemas.

LONSDALE: mark of champions

it was a great surprise to receive a package and knowing a lot of its history. it's not just the material on how it was manufactured, the history that made its character is what a LONSDALE brand is all about.
LONSDALE was originally from London, a land of bureaucrats, named from the 5th Earl of Lonsdale, Hugh Cecil Lowther, who first organized boxing matches with gloves. it was noted in that time in 1891, three boxers died from that fist boxing without the sports equipment that we know today. it was less than two decades after that boxing title belts were introduced by the Lonsdale belt, after it was donated by Lord Lonsdale. and so the history and tradition continues.

in 1959, the name Lonsdale was officially used as a brand by Bernard Hart for his boxing clothing and equipment after granted by the 7th Earl. the brand was eventually became a hit and later endorsed by big celebrities in the sports and entertainment industry.
