a netizen's choice: GMA NEWS TV

so there's a writing project about the netizens choice for their favorite TV station. with the network "wars" (if there really is) happening among fans, i would be really proud to say that GMA NEWS TV gets my vote on this one.
as all the other stations (ABS-CBN, TV5 and GMA7) strive to collect fans through their entertainment talents, there would be 3 reasons why i choose GMA NEWS TV.

1. programs are informative - it's a given. programs which promote Philippine culture, individual development, achievements on any aspects, we will truly be aware of what's happening to our surroundings. GMA NEWS TV not just deliver the news, they bring substance to the material they deliver.

2. balanced journalism - with such programs that involve controversial topics, GMA NEWS TV promotes balance arguments by taking both views from involved parties. the point of view is left to those who sees it but judgment is served by greater authority.

3. programs that push viewers to action. - sensitive subjects address not only the government [but mostly it is] but the concerned citizens that may be able to help those in need. the aim is to see the realities of the Filipino people.

4. it's on free TV. - the information they deliver doesn't have to be kept in private. that's why i admire GMA NEWS TV for its fearless exposition of issues and cases that surprise us.

this vote i hope isn't a killjoy to any other entries submitted. there were not guidelines to choose among the 3 giants on Philippine TV. i think people would think that this post would be really off of the choices where people choose only for the networks capitalizing on entertainment. GMA NEWS TV would really lead its league for news channels. don't get me wrong why most of my latest posts are angled to another station, that's a different story.

if you want to vote for your favorite TV station, this writing project is held by www.Starmometer.com, www.Showbiznest.com and www.LionhearTV.net. there's still a lot of time to vote for your favorite TV station. try to read this post and follow the mechanics.

RISE OF THE GUARDIANS movie review

a whole new experience for the whole family, Dreamwork's RISE OF THE GUARDIANS takes you on another level of imagination and belief. kids and kids-at-heart will enjoy the adventure of the characters we fell in love before bedtime starting November 28 in cinemas in 3D and IMAX formats.
North (Santa Claus), saw a vision that a great danger is underway to the children of the world. thus summoning Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, and the Sandman to protect the children and their happiness. and their own guardian, the moon, a metaphor for great power guiding upon them hails another guardian, Jack Frost, who is very stubborn and doesn't believe that he is a guardian himself.
the guardians get their power from children who believe in them. and Pitch wants to take all children's dreams and turn them into nightmares for his domination all over the world. and our guardians' mission is to reverse this helping each other and bring back the imagination to all children. but as for Jack Frost, he searches for his purpose in making the world a happier place despite the troubles he makes.

in the depiction of Dreamworks' RISE OF THE GUARDIANS, we are told about the different legends of the characters. like how Santa lives in the North Pole, living with elves who makes his gifts, and one thing we don't know is that the yetis are joining them for Christmas preparations. and how he implements quality assurance on these gifts that makes it very funny.
the Tooth Fairy, on the other hand, reigns in the kingdom where they keep all children's memories with every tooth they lose. you will also like the Easter Bunny's presence with the eggs, and Sandman's magical power.

we are all in a surprise of children's imaginations. the power of how it can change things. the very delightful treat for the eyes and heart of the family and that believing on yourself and finding your purpose.

TROUBLE WITH THE CURVE movie review

when you think you know baseball, TROUBLE WITH THE CURVE will show you how experience teaches a lot of lessons. in this movie by Warner Bros., Clint Eastwood who plays Gus scouts for baseball players despite his sight problems. his daughter Mickey, played by Amy Adams, helps him to do so but past experiences detach the girl from her father.
the movie not only teaches us about baseball but also to prepare for our twilight years. as Gus is the best man for the job, the new blood is slowly eliminating him to achiever their personal goals. but as Gus' love for baseball, the old man cannot cope up with the demands as his health depreciates starting with the eyesight -- which is very vital for recruiting the next players. this is where Mickey comes in. though very aggressive to help her father, Gus is still over protective of her as to how to deal with the guys. she also has some "issues" with her father that's why she feels very unattached though obligated to help him. along the way, she meets this another baseball enthusiast, Johnny (Justin Timberlake), who's in the same objective as they have.
at least they learn to resolve the issues at the same time they had found the right guy for the post. Gus, Mickey and so with Johnny found each of what they're lacking with each other. in this sense, the best thing for the job you'll like to accomplish would be standing right beside you. it's important to notice the people around you so that you will have the best time ever.

this movie is another revelation for Justin Timberlake's acting skills for me. with his high-recommendable performance in The Social Network, i can say that this man has talent. acting as Johnny makes him very effective for Mickey and he and Amy Adams have a cute chemistry on screen. the movie is properly cast.
