AMERICAN PIE: REUNION movie review

over ten years had passed when Jim (Jason Biggs) together with his men goes back to East Great Falls, Michigan for their long-awaited high school reunion. and as soon as they reunite, these men may been out grown the things they had from high school. the guys had matured but never forgotten the memories then.
with Jim and his wife Michelle (Alyson Hannigan) have been experiencing some bed problems. Oz (Chris Klein), on the other hand may have a successful career as a sports commentator in Las Vegas; Kevin is a settled house husband with his French wife and Stiffler works in a global accounting firm.
they might have transformed to people they can be proud of but their obsession with sex and relationships hasn't changed. still doing their own things with themselves or with past relationships. that's where all the funny things from high school go back. have you still remembered Jim's video which circulated the internet? and even Mr. Levenstein's sex advises to Jim. what's more, you'll have more younger chicks that will drive the guys to trouble. in case you noticed, Stiffler would be enjoying a lot.
jokes are still common but they didn't fail me to laugh out. Jim and Stiffler are still the best guys that delivers all the funny things. Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas), Oz and Kevin would be the more serious type. all in all, the story goes about friendship and having fun in life. but don't let age be a barrier in doing the things you love. watch it and you'll see more than the three pre-installments. you'll never expect who ends up with who.

American Pie: The Reunion opens on May 2, 2012 in Philippine cinemas. brought to us by United International Pictures through Solar Entertainment Company. this movie is rated R for sexual content and pranks.

THE AVENGERS movie review

it was just really exciting scene after scene watching the collective Avengers in one screen. Thor, Ironman, Captain America, Black Widow, the Incredible Hulk, Hawkeye and Nick Fury giving us a serving of what they can do in the (hopefully) first installment of The Avengers by Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures.
even not as a comic fan, i just enjoyed the whole movie with all those not-Michael Bay blasts and action. the more interesting execution of the characters by Robert Downey, Jr. (Ironman) and Chris Evans (Captain America) is that in spite of their superhero abilities, the more human persona gets out of their wits. even gods Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) were even deceived by the earthlings in their stay. the mission is to acquire the Tesseract, a strong mineral from space capable of producing power for living or to destroy. aimed to be protected by S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), he secretly forms a plan of bringing together incredible humans to resist evil plans when the Tesseract was acquired by other individuals.
my only thing from the promotions and movies produced that Black Widow and Hawkeye were not given as equal billing like Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and the Hulk which weve known the origins from previous movies. but they were given equal shining opportunities throughout the movie. what i mean are the stunts and fighting techniques that they all used. everything is super though maintained to be human: Hawkeye recycles his arrows, Captain America and Tony Stark's funny dialogue and the Hulk -- just smashes! Mark Ruffalo, by the way, did a splendid job on the character. even the graphic Hulk is incredibly fascinating, the closest modifications to Mark's face.
seeing it in 3D is ok with those pointing things coming out of the screen. you can maximize the great movie experience with the good quality of sound from the cinema. but all in all, the movie isn't too stressing from all the blasts and violence. but parental guidance is still recommended.

GARY V ON HIGHER GROUND concert

i was able to celebrate with Gary Valenciano in his 29th anniversary in the industry with his ON HIGHER GROUND concert which is happening every Thursdays and Fridays this summer at the Music Museum. presented by ABS-CBN and Manila Genesis Entertainment.
what to like about the concert for one is of course, Gary Valenciano. most people grew up with the music of Mr. Pure Energy. his never fading dance moves and remarkable voice pumped up the energy out of the eager audience ready to party.

he had a very nice line up of songs for us each night. starting with Tara Na, and a suite of his songs that are greatly remembered going back 29 years before. and the stage is so nice! the plain geometric white background transforms into different scenarios: techno, boombox, and even a nice landscape as he sings, Walang Hanggan theme song.
with special guest, Julianne, you'll have an acoustic serving of Warrior is a Child. Sarah Geronimo also appears in the concert in a special duet.
concert is directed by Paulo Valenciano with musical direction by Mon Faustino. congratulations to Gary Valenciano and we're looking forward to the 30th anniversary concert!

THE LUCKY ONE movie review

from the author of The Notebook, Dear John and more romance novels, Nicholas Sparks, comes another inspiring movie that may save someone's life. The Lucky One, presented by Warner Bros. Pictures opens here in the Philippines on April 19, 2012.
a former war hero, US Marine Sgt. Logan Thibault, (Zac Efron) gets fortunate escaping death while finding a photo in the middle of nowhere where it has drove him out of an accident. then after his duty and coming back to the United States, he searches for the woman on the photo and hoping to thank her. and so as he founds Beth (Taylor Schilling), he couldn't say the words and even so, he fell in love with her. Beth happens to be involved with someone and bore a child whom Logan didn't have a hard time connecting with the family except from the former husband, Keith (Jay Ferguson).
along the way, he struggles in his secret hiding how he was able to come to Beth. but after all, he enjoys the company and as a marine duty, he protects his lucky charm. dealing with Keith was not easy but as accustomed to soldiers, he also protects citizens like him but he wasn't able to do it able a dreadful accident.

in the movie, you will see how soldiers find it hard to adjust from war to a citizen life. it should be well understood that we should take care of them in return. on the other hand, love story is pretty predictable. boy finds girl, girl clueless about the boy suddenly falls in love. then secrets will be revealed, etc. there are also no remarkable lines like we were used to from other Nicholas Sparks movies. Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling may have missed the chemistry factor teaming up in this movie. the steam is somehow funny rather than hot.
watch The Lucky One from Warner Bros. Pictures. starring Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling as Logan and Beth starting April 19 2012 in Philippine theaters.
