a former war hero, US Marine Sgt. Logan Thibault, (Zac Efron) gets fortunate escaping death while finding a photo in the middle of nowhere where it has drove him out of an accident. then after his duty and coming back to the United States, he searches for the woman on the photo and hoping to thank her. and so as he founds Beth (Taylor Schilling), he couldn't say the words and even so, he fell in love with her. Beth happens to be involved with someone and bore a child whom Logan didn't have a hard time connecting with the family except from the former husband, Keith (Jay Ferguson).
along the way, he struggles in his secret hiding how he was able to come to Beth. but after all, he enjoys the company and as a marine duty, he protects his lucky charm. dealing with Keith was not easy but as accustomed to soldiers, he also protects citizens like him but he wasn't able to do it able a dreadful accident.
in the movie, you will see how soldiers find it hard to adjust from war to a citizen life. it should be well understood that we should take care of them in return. on the other hand, love story is pretty predictable. boy finds girl, girl clueless about the boy suddenly falls in love. then secrets will be revealed, etc. there are also no remarkable lines like we were used to from other Nicholas Sparks movies. Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling may have missed the chemistry factor teaming up in this movie. the steam is somehow funny rather than hot.
watch The Lucky One from Warner Bros. Pictures. starring Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling as Logan and Beth starting April 19 2012 in Philippine theaters.
