ZOMBIELAND movie review

when the movie's got rules, i got reasons why you should watch Zombieland. i thought that it was just another zombie-killing movie but it actually taught you how to survive them. you can feel just the excitement of how the characters survived them like it was just a very ordinary thing to live with. you can visualize how gruesome the zombies ate corpses and body parts and how inhumane survivors kill them. even though it was like any other zombie-escaping movie, you would really enjoy this movie.

so here are my reasons - warning on spoilers:
  1. it will take you to nostalgia with Bill Murray as himself carrying Ghostbusters in hand.
  2. watch out how they diss Miley Cyrus.
  3. do you need fitness workouts? try Rule#1: CARDIO
  4. chicks dig guns
  5. it will teach you how to observe traffic rules
  6. know how to kick dumbass zombies while enjoying in the park
  7. Twinkies is essential for survival especially with #3.
  8. hot chicks may dig dorks
  9. there are always nice toys for the big boys

AVATAR movie review

from Titanic director, James Cameron, comes another titanic movie that not only provides great CGI effects but also great story that is very timely to the global issues we're experiencing today.

AVATAR is a story of ex-marine Jake Sully who has been assigned to do a diplomatic agreement to another world in a form of an avatar, a genetic combination of human and Na'vi genes controlled by human will. the Na'vis are residents of a distant planet, Pandora, which humans are trying to adapt into and get a special mineral for the sustenance of the race. despite the tranquil life of the Na'vis, the humans take over what they want by violent actions and thus the destruction of the Na'vis' home and race.

Jake Sully as an avatar has learned to adapt to the customs and living of the other Na'vis and also had a heart to them. realizing the destruction of the humans to Pandora, he also has learned to defend the peacefulness of the Na'vis.

AVATAR subliminally tackles the issues of racism and global warming. racism in a sense that we should be respectful of the customs and traditions of any group whether we consider ourselves more learned. global warming has also been addressed as whether why humans are trying to find another home invading another planet. the thought that if we should have done our job to protect our planet, we might have not been tearing others apart just for our own consumption.

this is a great movie and better seen on 3D. opens December 17 in the Philippines.

Yehuda Berg is coming to Manila

Yehuda Berg, renowned authority on Kabbalah and co-director of Kabbalah Centre International, comes to Manila and gives a seminar based on his book, the Power to Change Everything.

change is really needed in these times. especially now that we are in the election season. because we are tired of the rotten system of governance, we as citizens should begin the change in ourselves not just putting a leader in a position and make him run over everything. the blame is to everyone. so if we want a better person in office, we should elect a person with deep concern for people and not fulfilling his own ambitions.

meet Yehuda Berg in Rockwell Tent on January 18, 2010 (Monday) and get ideas on how to change everything. the power of an individual may be very small but when collective and agreeing ideas merge, the strength and effect can be very big.

seminar starts at 7PM at the Rockwell Tent, Rockwell Drive Corner Estrella Street Rockwell Center , Makati.

ADMISSION IS FREE.

to register in the free lecture, email philippines@kabbalah.com or call (0920) 902-9008. limited slots is given to everyone who registers early.

Merry Christmas from KSA MAGIC

KSA Magic products

KSA Magic has formally invited bloggers to their Christmas party as part of their 3rd Anniversary as well as to give a re-introduction of the beauty products that are out in the market. a chance to see actress, Gladys Reyes, as KSA Magic's official endorser and had a wonderful chitchat with the actress.

KSA Magic is a product of GLOWCAL Manufacturing Corporation (formerly known Le Derma Skin Care) which has been around for almost 20 years under the management of Ms. Elizabeth Figuracion Perez de Tagle. the success of KSA Magic is from the intensive research and state-of-the-art product manufacturing while using the best products from different portions of the world.

GLOWCAL's products has been going around areas like Canada, Spain, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Korea and in the continents of North America, South America, and the Middle East.

the products are guaranteed safe. that's why actress Gladys Reyes has trusted KSA Magic for her personal skin care to meet the demands of her showbiz career. she also shared to us that the first time she used KSA was when she was pregnant with her first son. giving her nice effects and retained it for a long time, Gladys recommends it to everyone. it also doesn't contain mercury and hydroquinon which are harmful to our skin. these two dangerous products can be very fatal or may give you reddening of the skin which is not a very good sight.

i personally used one which is the oatmeal soap. the great thing with KSA soaps is unlike whitening products that are available in the market, it has a good amount of SPF so you can bask under the sun without worrying from the sun's harmful rays. while other products prohibit you from exposing yourself.

for a Christmas treat, KSA would also like to introduce additions to the line for hair care. a shampoo which is a combo of nature's best, coconut and aloe vera which also cares for the scalp.

Make experiments using home stuff

science has been very interesting to me especially when i can get a hands-on on every project or experiment. just yesterday, i had the opportunity to observe interesting facts that can be done by just using stuff from home.

Engr. Rolando Moya gave us an overview of the concepts that might be discussed by associating the experiments that are done in the symposium. indeed, the materials can only be found inside your home and they are guaranteed safe. teachers and parents can have fun doing these experiments and translate fun and dirt into interactive education.

first, we found the difference of light from regular coke. we all agree of the difference in the sugar content between the two but we can actually see even the difference in the aluminum content of the can. just place empty cans of regular and light cokes into an aquarium. the light cokes float higher than the regular ones.

next is testing density of a liquid. using different ratios of sugar and water, and add coloring to it, you can see how liquid can push the other liquid up to the brim of a tall glass. this is a very colorful and wonderful science experiment.

another fun experiment is making a Centrum ooze. it is otherwise known as slime used in TV productions. by using glue, water and borax, you can have a gummy and playful material.

the last experiment that we had is by knowing the principle of quick sand by just attaining a right mixture of cornstarch and water.

try those experiments and more at home. and for more educational and fun stuff, you can visit the Philippine Science Centrum located at the back of Riverbanks Center in Marikina.
