MAD MAX: Fury Road action-packed trailer

Watch the highly-anticipated trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road, the fourth in the film franchise.
Haunted by his turbulent past, Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy) believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa (Charlize Theron).

They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne), from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.

“Mad Max: Fury Road”—the fourth in the franchise’s history—stars Tom Hardy (“The Dark Knight Rises”) in the title role, alongside Oscar winner Charlize Theron (“Monster,” “Prometheus”) as the Imperator, Furiosa. Collectively known as The Wives, Zoë Kravitz (“Divergent”) plays Toast, Riley Keough (“Magic Mike”) is Capable, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (“Transformers: Dark of the Moon”) is Splendid.
They are joined by supermodel Abbey Lee as The Dag and Courtney Eaton as Fragile, both of whom are making their big screen debuts. Also featured in the movie are Josh Helman as Slit, Jennifer Hagan as Miss Giddy, and singer/songwriter/performer iOTA as Coma-Doof Warrior. The cast is rounded out by well-known Australian actors John Howard and Richard Carter, supermodel Megan Gale, Angus Sampson, Joy Smithers, Gillian Jones, Melissa Jaffer and Melita Jurisic.

SPECTRE started filming in Austria

Daniel Craig's latest Bond film seem to have a ski chases set in Austria.
ON Productions, MGM and Sony Pictures have released official cast images of Daniel Craig, Lea Seydoux and Dave Bautista in the Austrian alps during filming of scenes there for "Spectre," the 24th entry in the James Bond franchise.

Filming took place over the weekend on the cold waters of Lake Altaussee where Craig was seen filming a scene standing alone on a long wooden boat on a lake, surrounded by a snowy forest.
These shots were snapped in Solden, Austria - a place known for its skiing, especially around the Rettenbach glacier. The production is expected to film scenes along the glacier road and tunnel, along with making use of a cable car system.

“Spectre” is directed by Sam Mendes and is set for global release on November 6, 2015. The film also stars Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear, Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci and Andrew Scott.

Testing my own LOUDBASSTARD amplifier

It is a great way to end 2014 winning some promos I joined online. It was a very musical December when I saw Ely Buendia's concert in Antipolo and to cap off, I won Manila Concert Junkies' online giveaway with a Loudbasstard Bamboo amplifier! I claimed it last night and tried my new gadget baby to the test.
Enclosed in a bio case that is just smaller than a shoe box, I cannot imagine that this thing is huge, about a foot in length. All natural and very unique, I also like its blue green paint. Kudos to the people of Cebu for making this  unique accessory for all music lovers like me.

Testing, the difference from playing music straight from the phone and with a Loudbasstard is quite noticeable. The sound is louder and more pleasant. I can't wait to listen with it with nature sounds via Spotify.

For more info about Loudbasstard, you can check their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/loudbasstardTM. Again, thank you Manila Concert Junkies for this New Year gift.

ENGLISH ONLY, PLEASE movie review

Thanks to the power of Facebook, English Only, Please has effectively marketed itself and gained applause for both moviegoers and critics alike. I also congratulate the MMFF entry for bagging 7 major awards, a great achievement to the actors, director and production team that some people wouldn't think that a romcom may get. Call me biased but EOP is just one of the movies that I really look forward to at the festival along with Kubot which I have yet to see.
Playing Tere Madlansacay is Jennylyn Mercado, a self-supporting woman through her earnings in tutoring foreigners to learn the English language. Who also gets her money raked in by her sex fling (played by Kean Cipriano) who also gets me irritated by the nerves. She gets hired by a Fil-Am businessman Julian Parker (Derek Ramsay) to translate his anger letter for effective delivery to her ex (Isabel Oli) which left him years ago. Comforting Tere is her bestie Cai Cortez, a single mother taking her chances on love through Tinder and Facebook but usually fails. The story revolves in the reality of our time where people check each other out then gone.

Whether romantic or not, the movie affects many kinds of people. The phrase "Traffic sa EDSA" has become a trend to poke people of becoming late. Teaching us to be professional and respect other people's times which you wouldn't know might be our future. Tere also raises the points of the bread winners and the working class, that sometimes they get tired of giving but they do it because of love. Derek's character also mirror those people who keep their secrets, thus "Don't ask" also became a powerful line in the movie.
We all know that the jeepney bay scene is one of the memorable scenes and that giving a resbak to the barker served all recently-attached people out there. Jennylyn's viral scene will surely plant in our heads and would stay forever. I also liked the inserts of vocabulary giving a funny twists to the meanings of each word or phrase.
English Only, Please I would say really deserves the MMFF awards it has received. If you haven't seen it yet, let's hope that the cinemas continue to screen it.
