Meet Baymax's master

We all know the big cuddly robot that was held on a mission which is very contrary to its original program of taking care of a person. Now let's get to know Hiro, the robot developer who turns out his skills are utilized to save the world against an evil force and developing into a man that many would admire in Disney's Big Hero 6.
Hiro, maker of state-of-the-art robots that go to battle in the dark corners of San Fransokyo (derived from San Francisco and Tokyo since Hiro is Asian-American) is voiced by Ryan Potter -- a Disney fan himself and sees himself very much with Hiro.
Actor, director, martial artist, photographer and philanthropist Ryan Potter was raised in Tokyo, Japan, until the age of 7. His first language was Japanese and he’s a lifelong fan of Manga and Anime.

Potter appeared in the 2014 feature film “Senior Project” and will appear in “Underdog Kids" early next year. He also starred in Nickelodeon’s “Supah Ninjas” as a typical high school student who discovers he descended from a long line of ninjas.

In addition to acting, Potter is skilled in several martial art disciplines. He began training in White Tiger Kung Fu at age 8 and has also studied Wu Shu style Kung Fu, Karate and Capoeira. In addition to White Tiger, Potter trains in martial arts tricking and parkour free running.
Potter is also devoted to painting and photography, often in unison, creating mixed media art, directing and filming his own martial arts videos and is moved by music of all genres. He is planning to attend college next year to study film and art.

Potter is dedicated to raising awareness for several charities including Covenant House and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. He is grateful for his Big Brother of 10 years and has been a National Spokesperson since 2012. In addition, Toy Box of Hope, a charity that Potter started himself in 2011, raises awareness and donations for homeless children in Los Angeles.

Opening across the Philippines on Nov. 06, 2014, “Big Hero 6” is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International through Columbia Pictures.

Manila is first stop of Disney's Beauty & the Beast

Theater fans, families, especially kids are very much open to welcome Disney's one of the longest running Broadway musicals of all time, Beauty and the Beast. For 2015, Beauty and the Beast will open hearts despite any appearance and break any curse caused by hate. Ovation Productions and Disney Theatrical Production and NETworks collaborate to bring this magical fairy tale in Philippine theater.

It also played in Istanbel, Abu Dhabi, Thessalonik, Trieste, Milan and starting Asian tour in Manila, Bangkok, Singapore, Jakarta, Kazakhstan and finally Macau marking the first time to be seen in these areas.
Since 1991, we all fell in love with the story of Belle, the young maiden from a provincial town and the Beast who is actually a prince trapped in a spell placed by an enchantress. He has to learn to love and be loved in return, and if time goes out, he will be doomed forever. Belle's presence in the Beast's company includes romantic, funny and dramatic scenes that the whole family will enjoy. Matching with playful and colorful production notes and characters like Lumiere and Mrs. Potts. But Belle and the Beast should be careful with Gaston, the antagonist of the story. Gaston was also played by Hugh Jackman in the Australian production.

See some highlights of Beauty and the Beast in other countries:
Disney's Beauty and the Beast directed by Rob Roth and choreographed by Matt West. Tony Award-winning Ann Hould-Ward for Costume design; Natasha Katz for lighting design; Stanley Meyer for scenic-design; John Petrafesa, Jr. for sound design and Michael Kosarin for music supervision.

Based on the 1991 Academy award-winning film of the same title, Beauty and the Beast premiered on Broadway in 1994 and was nominated for 9 categories in the Tony Awards. Celebrating 13 years touring, it is indeed one of the longest and highest ranking Broadway shows of all time.

Disney's Beauty and the Beast will stage at Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (CCP Theater) on January 9-25, 2015. Shows are at 8PM with matinees at 2PM on Saturdays and Sundays. Visit www.facebook.com/beautyandthebeastph, beautyandthebeast.com.ph for details.

Tour below Paris in As Above/So Below

Who wants to go to Paris? United International Pictures gives all thrill-seekers perfect to haunt you this Halloween. As Above/So Below is a horror/thriller that even I was spooked just watching the trailer by itself.
The story goes around the tour in the Catacombs beneath the glorious streets of Paris. Little that we know about the dark past of the city in which young thrill-seekers are about to experience in this movie. Taking shots were even creepier with the stories of the 220-feet below the ground of Paris.

Leading the cast is Perdita Weeks whose character is to vindicate his father's beliefs about the Catacombs. Director John Erick Dowdle finds Weeks the perfect person for the role as they see her with depth to carry the character. She plays Scarlett, a British scholar of archaeology and rebellious thrill-seeker who is driven by the death of her father.
This is also Weeks' challenging role as she endures hours of makeup and play in the mud for a good chunk of production. She adds: "This was the most physically challenging role I have ever played: from sprinting with heavy cameras and battery packs on my head, to abseiling and crawling through bone tunnels on hands and bruised knees, all the while head to toe in 'blood' and dirt...it was exhausting and exhilarating in equal measure.”
Perdita Weeks in As Above/So Below will be exclusively shown at Ayala Malls Cinemas starting October 22, 2014.
