theater actress Julie or Julia Abueva flies in from Singapore for this engagement as the title role alternating Karylle. adding to her credentials of being in big musicals like Into The Woods, Spring Awakening and a milestone of singing with US President Barack Obama. a discovery by Oprah Winfrey led her to the gateway of stardom in the US and worldwide singing career in theater.

THE WOLVERINE movie review

it was a great privilege to see the latest mutant movie The Wolverine before it hits the theaters. this newest flick shows us Logan's (Hugh Jackman) vulnerability, physical and emotional and how he rises stronger than ever before.

living at 3 generations in Japan, Logan is summoned by the person he saved during the war. upon death of who he trusted as a friend, he discovers plans that will drive him to his mortality which he wanted more. this to catch up to his ever-love Jean Grey who troubles him every time he sleeps. evenmore, to protect great inheritance passed on to younger generation. confronting forces that prevent him from saving the sole heir to the riches, he discovers he is lured in to a trap that will make him choose to live as a mortal.

the action filled movie deliberately showed us the Wolverine's power, strength and vulnerability in one screen. following big fight sequences, especially the bullet train scene, providing more entertainment is the humor factor that goes after. the stranger Logan has to learn many about the culture of the place he's in. making him more human like we never knew.

villains Viper, the Silver Samurai were really neat however i didn't feel much about Viper. villains use each other for one's benefit. it would be mistaken he will be Poison Ivy or somebody else until she sticks her tongue out.

in general, i liked The Wolverine and surely i recommend that everyone watch it. may it in 3D or 2D, the story is really amazing and fight scenes give really much attention to our hero. it was not even tiring to see and you'll be waiting so much more. (a sequel maybe?)

just a piece of advise, don't go yet when the movie is done. you have to stay a little during the credits for something to watch out for.

THE LEGO MOVIE

THE LEGO MOVIE would be the most exciting movie ever assembled. took more than decades before the movie was ever conceptualized. i remember playing stacking different bricks. didn't have the chance to play with little character toys but almost the same that create stories on my own out of tiny figures.

for this movie, a regular MasterBuilder figure is mistakenly pushed to an adventure in order to defeat an evil Lego tyrant that threats to glue the world. joined by other characters from The Avengers, Justice League, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and more, they will altogether face the greatest battle among Lego figures.

an heir is born! Royal Baby watched by millions

4:24PM of July 22, 2013, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton welcomes the 8lbs, 6oz baby boy at the St. Mary's Hospital in London, United Kingdom.

the whole world at watched, the gender of the baby was never announced in public until the baby is born. thus the birth of the new heir to the throne of his grandfather, Prince Charles and new-dad Prince William, made people betting.

the Royal Palace was happy of the new addition to the family and of course the wellness of the birthing of Catherine.

all everyone is waiting for now is the announcement of the name and the presentation of photos or the baby itself for public viewing. it would be a very exciting event but very difficult for the securities of the Royal Palace to keep the privacy of the family for now. but i would like to send my regards and well wishes now to the baby. i wonder how would the couple choose the name? would they follow traditional royal names like Albert, Phillip or others? or would it be more of a celebrity like? i remember David Beckham sent his interest and pushes that the couple names the baby after him being sports fans themselves. but who knows? :)

preparations are now on at Buckingham Palace in welcoming the royal baby. gun salutes and great feasts await.

a murder to solve from the afterlife is how RIPD presents itself to the audience. a recently murdered cop Nick (Ryan Reynolds) is being recruited by the Rest In Peace Department - a police district of the spirit world which catches bad spirits lurking among the world of the living.

teaming up with Roy (Jeff Bridges), Nick stumbles in the action scene in a form he didn't even imagine but had no choice to perform the duty as a spiritual police officer. the world of spirits are filled with monsters and demons that hide in human form but our cops have this special detective capabilities to track them down, more so an advantage for Nick to hunt his murderer.

a sneak peek in Alice in Wonderland

26 years is a great achievement for Repertory Philippines' Theater For Young Audiences (TFYA), headed by Ms. Joy Virata who pioneered the company to reach out to the children to appreciate classic stories and even theater arts. they also want to instill creativity and make children dream and increase imagination. for this year, they are proud to present a Lewis Carroll classic, Alice in Wonderland, which opens August 17, 2013 at OnStage, Greenbelt 1, Makati City.

the colorful production about Alice who was lost in a different world called Wonderland, is portrayed by our favorite Rep actors and will be presented in the way you've never seen before. the story that will make you laugh and crazy throughout the show. our cast, Alice, the Mad Hatter, the Dormouse, rushing Clock Rabbit, the Ceshire Cat and others. for Rep's second run of the children's musical, the costumes were inspired by Origami incorporated in the development of designs by Raven Ong.

the sneak peek was indeed a crazy party with the set up resembling the tea party. hosted by Bizu, the guests enjoyed the scones and macarons, plus drinks that say "Drink Me." i enjoyed it a lot too immersing in the experience that Alice had.
