PEANUTS makes a theater debut!

If Charles Schulz is still alive today, he will definitely love PEANUTS coming out as a movie soon. And more exciting is that it will be in 3D. So Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy and the whole gang will popping out in the big screen and will be enjoyed by kids and they parents who first experienced the laughter and thoughts presented by these characters. Here's a first look on the upcoming movie:
And here's the trailer:
Steve Martino will direct the “Peanuts” feature; previously, he brought to the big screen (with Jimmy Hayward) Fox/Blue Sky’s “Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who!” Martino also directed (with Michael Thurmeier) Fox’s recent box-office smash “Ice Age: Continental Drift.” The screenplay is by Craig Schulz and the writing team of Bryan Schulz & Cornelius Uliano. Craig Schulz and Bryan Schulz, respectively Mr. Schulz’s son and grandson, along with Uliano are producing. Also playing a key role in the deal was Neil Cole, chief executive officer and president of Iconix Brand Group (NASDAQ: ICON), which, in a joint venture with Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates, formed Peanuts Worldwide in 2010, the home to the global “Peanuts” property.

On the Playlist: Myk Perez

I missed attending events that launch new artists and playing their songs. Happily attended Myk Perez's blog conference at the MCA Universal office and greeting him personally for his new album "My Acoustic."
After coming runner-up in ABS-CBN's The Voice, MCA signed him for his debut album and featured songs that we love and also his personal favorites.

  • Easy
  • Two Is Better Than One - duet with Sabrina
  • Why
  • Runaway
  • Clarity
  • Honey Under the Moon
  • Fix You (his self-composition)
  • Chasing Pavements
  • Give Me Love
  • Baby I Love Your Way
  • Fix You (Unplugged) - bonus track

His cool voice goes perfectly with all tracks and it's a good company when you're driving or chilling on your room. He gives justice to all the songs in his own renditions and they are very relaxing. My personal favorite is his version of Runaway - being also a The Corrs fan and I could sing-along with his tune.

He is very nice and accommodating to even granted our song requests by playing them with his guitar. A tell-all interview was honestly answered by Myk with all the bloggers present. He played songs that will match his mood.

He gave all his thanks to his The Voice coach Bamboo Mañalac for what he had become in The Voice. If you're wondering if he had a choice to select from all the other judges, he'd choose Lea for musical experience. He also like to jam with Sarah Geronimo for her dancing skills.

For more info about Myk Perez's album, you can visit MCA universal's Facebook and Twitter accounts.

WINTER'S TALE movie review

I have this confusion with time-travelling movies but WINTER'S TALE is a not miss with loving individuals of all ages. As to learn not just to love but to be a miracle to others.
Being in the mythical New York in a different angels and demons battle, a person is caught in two time zones, one his present and his future and being able to fulfill his destiny. I just had to carefully draw myself in the settings and how clues were revealed one by one in the life of Peter Lake (Colin Farrell). I also had this icky feeling that sometime within that Pearly Holmes (Russell Crowe) will sing as Javert in Les Mis.

The story is something new to me and I really liked it too. It brings back youth to Colin Farrell and he has regained the matinee idol image in this movie. There is also balance in the roles of the supporting cast, and a pleasant script.
A love fantasy is very timely in this season and for those in love out there, Winter's Tale is written and directed by Akiva Goldsman and now showing in theaters. Distributed by Warner Bros Philippines.

RACHELLE ANN GO pushes dream career to London

Before getting off to London, Rachelle Ann Go (@gorachelleann) makes a memorable exit by holding her own concert entitled, "Miss Rachelle: the Send-off Concert" on February 22, 8PM at the Meralco Theater. With the leading men in her musical and theatrical career, Christian Bautista, Mark Bautista, Erik Santos and a very special participation of  Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.
Concert Poster
Celebrating her 10th year in the industry, Rachelle Ann Go has continually made her path from music to theater industry. Humbly starting from her winning Search For a Star singing contest on TV, then making her way to the recording and theater scene. This concert is second which she produced, and as a way of thanking the support of her fans before she flies to London for a very special role in Sir Cameron Mackintosh's Miss Saigon. Making to the West End is very close to her heart as this is also her dream. She'll play Gigi, a role which she really prepared about after her successful audition in Manila in 2013.
For about 12 months in tour, she's looking forward to learning stuff being independent abroad, taking advises from big and experienced theater artists from London, as well as learning new culture.

Rachelle Ann or Shin-Shin, presents songs from her beginnings and those who made her even more popular and loved by the Filipino audience. Notable by playing in Atlantis Production's The Little Mermaid in 2012 and as Jane in Disney's Tarzan with Dan Domenech, also of the same theater company. She is currently seen in GMA's Sunday All Stars weekly. She will also be singing and dancing on stage to show her versatility as a performer in the Send-off concert. Here's her performance with the press in the conference this afternoon.

RAK OF AEGIS review

A very personal story to all Filipinos is the story of the new musical from PETA. Rak of Aegis featuring the novelty songs of my favorite band, Aegis. A guilty pleasure for many Filipinos singing their songs in the videoke and in the showers.

Set in the soaked Villa Venezia, Aileen (Aicelle Santos) hopes for something that can lift her family from the flood. her dreams include fame and fortune when she gets discovered by international media. she is torn between supporters and non-supporters from Villa Venezia. alongside the struggle with the long term flood in their area, are stories of family, love and governance conflicts which all of our characters experience.

the cast portrayed their roles very well and the songs are appropriate with their storylines. you'll never guess what's coming and that makes it even hilarious. most memorable characters are Jewel and Tolits. Mary Jane and Kel's story affects every person trying to move on from a broken relationship but somehow holding back after opening the doors for another chance. their rendition of "Luha" can carry your emotions with the words of it.

Mary Jane, Sinta and Munting Pangarap I think are the most memorable parts of the musical. you definitely feel the words to it. especially Sinta where you'll feel the love magic emanate from the stage with all the special bubbly effects.

this is a highly recommended theatrical experience. combining the jologs and the pa-elite market with the music of Aegis, it is also a wonderful support to Philippine entertainment. 6 out of 5 stars and i'm definitely watching it again.

GRUDGE MATCH movie review

two iconic actors, Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone star in the BEST BOXING MOVIE to date! i saw GRUDGE MATCH and i never expected it to be funny and i really enjoyed it a lot. the story of two boxing legends that had their own personal issues with each other reflects the story of everyone, and would like to resolve it in a diplomatic way.
when you got Michael Corleone (De Niro) and Rocky Balboa (Stallone) in one screen, you definitely have a good movie. it was presented as how cocky old men will be and it makes everyone think and laugh about their pasts. it was called "Grudge Match" as you will discover why both would have or would have not wanted to fight again. Kid (De Niro) and Razor (Stallone) also had experienced to be looked down upon by other people until they both proved them to be wrong. though simple issues are presented, it's funny on how sometimes what you expect from older men could be so immature.
when i'm watching every scene, i felt a little worried if these actors can still do what they have to do in the scenes. the worries of they can lift weights and punch hard at their age. you will be amazed that they still can.

in this movie, we could also understand that if boxing made them famous and legendary, we can learn for a fact that they are still humans that have the same and experiences as ours. they also learn to rise and enjoy and make their way up when they fall. a very pleasant movie to see for everybody.

GRUDGE MATCH is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and now showing in cinemas. for more updates on upcoming movies, check out their Facebook page.
