HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA movie review

wonder you'll get lost in the woods and you'll get into a secluded place where you can find monsters. but these monsters won't scare you away. instead, they'll be very afraid of you. the comedy of Hotel Transylvania is much like of Monsters Inc. but different in a lot of ways. pretty much that i missed Dexter's Laboratory as i found out that Genndy Tartakovsky directed this movie.
Hotel Transylvania deals with the protection of a father to his daughter as his only precious treasure left. and part of this protection is to build a sanctuary of monsters where the "undead" can live peacefully. and when an intruder accidentally gets in the way, the head of the hotel, Dracula (Adam Sandler), gets extra careful not to put every monster in the open.
monsters include every iconic character we've known from horror and bedtime stories. vampires, werewolves, Frankenstein, the Invisible Man and the mummy are among the well known and they made it to the lead cast. and weak enough that they've been attacked by a guy who just like to party, the disoriented creatures got worse as Dracula had not planned. and that's where the funny things happen.
each character has it's own Waterloo and they have put the humor into it. if you were to make fun of something to your friends, this can be the movie where you'll get an idea. and i don't see the jokes coming. you'll laugh at it most of the time.

HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA opens worldwide on September 28, brought to us by Columbia Pictures International.

RED RIDING HOOD poster

Warner Bros. has just released the international poster of the romantic fantasy thriller “Red Riding Hood” from director Catherine Hardwicke (“Twilight”).

The film features an ensemble cast, led by Amanda Seyfried (“Letters to Juliet,” “Mamma Mia!”) in the title role. The film also stars Gary Oldman (“The Dark Knight,” the “Harry Potter” films), Billy Burke (the “Twilight” films), Shiloh Fernandez (“Skateland”), Max Irons (“Dorian Gray”), Oscar® nominee Virgina Madsen (“Sideways”), and Oscar® winner Julie Christie (“Away from Her,” “Darling”).

In “Red Riding Hood,” Seyfried plays Valerie, a beautiful young woman torn between two men. She is in love with a brooding outsider, Peter (Shiloh Fernandez), but her parents have arranged for her to marry the wealthy Henry (Max Irons). Unwilling to lose each other, Valerie and Peter are planning to run away together when they learn that Valerie’s older sister has been killed by the werewolf that prowls the dark forest surrounding their village.

For years, the people have maintained an uneasy truce with the beast, offering the creature a monthly animal sacrifice. But under a blood red moon, the wolf has upped the stakes by taking a human life. Hungry for revenge, the people call on famed werewolf hunter, Father Solomon (Gary Oldman), to help them kill the wolf. But Solomon’s arrival brings unintended consequences as he warns that the wolf, who takes human form by day, could be any one of them.

As the death toll rises with each moon, Valerie begins to suspect that the werewolf could be someone she loves. As panic grips the town, Valerie discovers that she has a unique connection to the beast—one that inexorably draws them together, making her both suspect…and bait.

Opening across the Philippines on March 2011, “Red Riding Hood” is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

VAMPIRES SUCK movie review

inspired from teen-hits Twilight Saga: Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse, comes a hilarious parody of the teenage girl who are torn between the love of two immortals. Jenn Proske stars as Becca, the newbie from Sporks (Forks) who fells in love with a vampire, Edward Sullen, but also gets the attention of a werewolf man, Jacob played by Chris Riggi.

this movie is a good laugh exaggerating the character of Bella from Twilight who which is a little shy in the original story and all other details. the outward sarcasm of the movie made me laugh which i totally agree. why would a girl who is matured enough won't be able to fight for herself and depend on two clashing lovers just to escape from a hungry vampire? i think that's pretty stupid. but in irony, i love watching the Twilight series.

i wonder, what if the real characters think that way? it's making a bonk on the head to Stephanie Meyer that made Bella weak. but we'll see if they didn't offend her and the Twilight fans and hope that they'll take it lightly. besides, it's a feel-good movie.

there's even special participations by Lady Gaga, Alice in Wonderland, Buffy and event Gossip Girl.

VAMPIRES SUCK opens on August 25 by 20th Century Fox distributed by Warner Bros.

CHRIS RIGGI as JACOB in VAMPIRES SUCK

He’s über-zealous in buffing up – that’s because Chris Riggi is playing Jacob in the upcoming comedy “Vampires Suck” inspired by the cult teen phenomenon on vampires and falling in love. Riggi’s Jacob immediately notices Becca (Jenn Proske), the new girl in town but Becca notices Edward Sullen (Matt Lanter) more. As Jacob persuades Becca not to associate with the Sullens, he is at the same time undergoing a strange transformation of his own that has him peeing on hydrants, chasing stray cats and sporting a wolf tail from the seat of his pants.

As Jacob’s name is synonymous with a perfect-carved bod, Riggi has displayed an intense dedication in working out and has definitely achieved tremendous results – such that the audience will be treated to a better-looking Jacob version in the movie. Riggi earned mainstream consciousness in his recurring role as Scott in the hit television series “Gossip Girl.” Coming from an artistic family plus his experience on roles from television and theater, producer Peter Safran did not look any further when Riggi submitted his audition cd. “Fans of the genre know that six-pack-abs are a werewolf’s most important physical trait, and by the time principal photography began he was in peak physical condition and had packed on twelve pounds of pure muscle,” producer Peter Safran notes.

Riggi adds: “To play a werewolf fans would have fun with, I had to be in peak physical condition. I had only a little more than a month to prepare for the role, so I began an intense training period. The hardest thing was giving up the foods I enjoy. It felt like I was only eating wood chips and cardboard. But the role required a specific look. It was tiring but I was really happy with the results.”

The role of the werewolf also required Riggi to undergo a time-consuming make-up process that included complex prosthetic devices. “Initially, it took five hours to apply all the make-up and prosthetics but that time was greatly reduced as we got accustomed to the process,” Riggi explains. “It takes a certain amount of concentration to focus on the role and be prepared to go in front of the camera with that kind of preparation. Plus I had to do sets of dumbbell curls while all that was going on. It was a new experience for me.”

“Vampires Suck” opens August 25 in theaters from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

VAMPIRES and WOLVES worship JENN PROSKE

MOVE OVER KRISTEN STEWART! Becca is on her way to steal your men! LOL

There’s a new Bella in town - a.k.a. Becca in the upcoming spoof comedy “Vampires Suck” from geniuses Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer who gave us the laugh-out loud parodies “Scary Movie,” “Date Movie” and “Meet the Spartans.”

Becca, played by Jenn Proske stars in the all-tangled love triangle opposite Matt Lanter , Chris Riggi and Ken Jeong (“Hangover”). In a recent interview with buzzbox.com, Proske revealed that she’s Team Edward but she still has strong feelings for Jacob. “I kind of feel a little bit of pressure because I play Becca, the Bella character. Plus, Matt Lanter who plays Edward looks good on set! Matt was amazing. I had never been on camera before and was nervous that whoever I was working with would judge me. He was so willing to teach me tips and was so friendly. We hang out all the time but we’re just friends,” Proske gushes.

Jenn definitely nailed every bit of Bella’s character such that after one major audition, she immediately got called in for “Vampires Suck.” This is by far her first major audition after graduating from Boston University at 2009, though Jenn relates that she was I originally got called in for Alice Cullen, but knew that she wasn’t quite right for the role. “I knew I felt the Kristen Stewart role more so I had to go in 7 or 8 times,” recalls Jenn.

Asked what’s in store for the Twilight fans and Twi-haters in “Vampires Suck” – “There’s something for everyone in this movie! Everything is done in a very funny way and I think it’s hysterical!” Jen says.

“Vampires Suck” opens August 25 in theaters from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

VAMPIRES SUCK: opening soon

in the tradition of movie spoofs, comes a new comedy about the stupid romantic illusion of a mortal between vampires and werewolves. LOL

At the heels of the phenomenal vampire tales come VAMPIRES SUCK, a parody of today’s hit teen flick from the outrageous minds of Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer (“Date Movie,” “Epic Movie”).

VAMPIRES SUCK pools together talented comics headed by Ken Jeong (“Hangover”) with Matt Latner, Jenn Proske and Chris Riggi. The movie bites when Becca (Proske) finds herself in the midst of vampire-human-wolf love triangle, taking her deeper into teen angst and romance as she decides between Edward Sullen (Latner) the vampire and Jacob (Riggi) the werewolf. In the midst of being torn and before she finally decides between Edward and Jacob, Becca must get around her controlling father who manages to embarrass her at all times. Thanks to her set of friends who make her feel normal while contending with their own teen romantic issues headed for a smash in their most awaited prom.

TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE movie review

WARNING: this review will just depend on the movie. thankful that i am one of the first people who saw it and following NEW MOON which i saw the other night.

in ECLIPSE, Bella is having a hard time to choose between her love for Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), the vampire, and friendship with Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), the werewolf. however, these men from rival clans have to protect their lady from the vampire taking her revenge, Victoria. they have no choice but to ally for Bella's safety in spite of the competition to win her heart.

i like how they told the story of the origins of each Cullen. their rises and downfalls and how they used their power as vampires to get justices for themselves. as for me as a fan of the movie can trace and understand why they are such. also with the wolf pack, they provided the story of their anger for the vampires.

as usual, as the other Twilight novels, they provided very cheesy lines which still have an effect to the fans of a romantic story. Edward and Jacob compete for the attention and love of Bella. they are funny this time. especially Jacob who gives Bella the "warmth" that she needed when cold-blooded Edward can't. sad though that we already know that Bella won't end with Jacob.

ECLIPSE had more action that's why it's more exciting than Twilight and New Moon. a show of vampire power and wolf action and it's not very cheesy. Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson's acting i think, have improved. it's good to put it that way. wolf graphics are clean and very nice. it's a beautiful rendition by David Slade.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE is now showing in theaters worldwide. made by Summit Entertainment, directed by David Slade.
