DP (Deserter Pursuit) renewed for season 2

D.P. (Deserter Pursuit) has been renewed for the second season as the world's biggest streaming platform, Netflix, confirms. The New York Times' Best International Show of 2021 has raised awareness on hidden social issues also has taken the world by storm.

Han Ho-yeul (Koo Kyo-hwan) and An Joon-ho (Jung Hae-in)

D.P. centers on Deserter Pursuit Unit members An Joon-ho (Jung Hae-in) and Han Ho-yeul (Koo Kyo-hwan) as they come across different stories while tracking down fellow soldiers who have deserted their posts.

Based on the webtoon D.P. Dog's Day by Kim Bo-Tong, D.P. takes on new life with Director Han Jun-hee of Coin Locker Girl and Hit-and-Run Squad weaving in keen insights and poignant details. The series earned high praises both domestically and internationally for shedding light on neglected stories of AWOL soldiers and those who search for them. Season 1 ends with walking in the opposite direction as the other soldiers. The sound of his footsteps breaking out into a run can be heard even after the credits start rolling, leaving viewers wondering where the story will be headed from there.

D.P. captivated viewers and critics alike with mesmerizing characters placed in the novel premise of soldiers hunting down AWOL soldiers. With electrifying chemistry between Jung Hae-in and Koo Kyo-hwan and sublime performances from Kim Sung-kyun, Son Suk-ku and the other actors, the characters resonate with viewers across the board regardless of generation and gender. The series is not shy about delivering an incisive social message about absurdities of life and unjust realities that are relevant not only in Korean society but in international contexts.

Season 2 will pick up where Season 1 left off with director Han Jun-hee reuniting with writer Kim Bo-Tong to co-write and to create another round of episodes that deeply resonate with viewers around the world.

New Netflix series heads to the moon this December 24

Netflix has confirmed the December 24th release and has disclosed the teaser poster for The Silent Sea. Set in the year 2075 when depletion of natural resources has devastated Earth, this Netflix Series tells the story of an elite team sent on a special mission to an abandoned research base on the moon.

The poster for The Silent Sea, unveiled for its Christmas Eve launch to the moon, depicts Song Jian (Bae Doona), an astrobiologist who has just set foot on the moon. She is a member of an elite team sent to the moon to save Earth from ruin with its depletion of natural resources. This lone figure on the moon, still an infinitely mysterious place that remains an uncharted territory for humans, piques our curiosity in this story of exploration and prepares the ground for the question, “What happened at an abandoned Korean research base?” While looking for clues to save Earth, team members become mired in mysterious predicaments and unforeseen events that occur in outer space. Their fates hanging by a thread will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

The Silent Sea is a series based on director Choi Hang-yong’s short film by the same name, which received much acclaim at the 13th Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival in 2014. Actor Jung Woo-sung was enthralled by this story that Choi has been crafting over a decade. “I loved the spectacular ideas behind the story. I wanted to be involved in creating a sci-fi series that is uniquely Korean,” Jung said. His participation in the production of the series has garnered much attention from early on. Also joining the creative process of this intriguing story of exploration is writer Park Eun-kyo, who received Best Screenplay awards at the Korean Association of Film Critics Awards for Mother and at the Blue Dragon Awards for Crush And Blush. A juggernaut cast — consisting of Bae Doona, Gong Yoo, Lee Joon and others — portrays the elite team members who risk their lives to participate in a special mission. With the synergy and the intense suspense they create, the sci-fi thriller The Silent Sea will surely become the grand finale to the year 2021 for Korean films and series.

The Silent Sea will be released worldwide on December 24th, only on Netflix.

A unique new world view in Netflix's Hellbound

Anticipation just continues to build up as Netflix series Hellbound slowly unveils itself. Director Yeon Sang-ho’s next-level imagination and penetrating message are packed in the newly-released main trailer. Netflix series Hellbound explores a world swept by a supernatural phenomenon where executors from Hell suddenly start to condemn people to Hell, and a new religious group called the New Truth emerges amidst this chaos, while others try to uncover the truth behind the series of events.

The main trailer starts off on an appalling note, laying bare what a hellbound decree actually is. While joyfully celebrating her birthday with her beloved kids, Park Jungja (played by Kim Shin-rok) out of the blue receives a hellbound decree from an angel. The sudden encounter with an angel leaves not only Park Jungja but also the viewers aghast. The composed voice of Jung Jinsu (played by Yoo Ah-in) then plays over the scene of the world that turned into utter chaos, further heightening tensions. Jung Jinsu claims that the supernatural phenomenon is God’s warning to sinners, and that the accompanying fear will set people free of their sins. However, in the run-up to the live streaming of Park Jungja’s execution, the world spirals into an apocalypse. People become suspicious and hateful of each other, turning the world into a living hell. Jung Jin-su’s words, “I’d like to welcome you all to the new world,” hint at the unforeseen stories to unfold in the anarchistic society. Watch it below:

Hellbound, providing utmost suspense with hellbound prophecies which are just beyond anyone’s imagination, is based on a webtoon of the same title. Director Yeon, who has acutely penetrated the uncertainties and injustice in current society through his works like The King of Pigs, The Fake, Train to Busan, Peninsula, and The Cursed: Dead Man’s Prey, once again consolidates his worldview by creating the story for the webtoon and directing and co-writing the script for the live-action adaptation. Director Yeon’s compelling story Hellbound, the epitome of his worldview, swept the cast off their feet too. The cast commented that: “Hellbound simply depicted the hell we now live in,” (Yoo Ah-in) “You can enjoy the suspense and then it suddenly strikes with a deep message,” (Park Jeong-min) and “The script was just so immersive. People who repeat irreversible mistakes, people who stick to their convictions, people who sacrifice themselves… The circumstances, stories and attitude of each of these people stand in stark contrast with one another, which can convey a number of different messages depending on the perspective” (Won Jin-a). Director Yeon’s shrewd portrayal of the chaotic society and different aspects of people is keeping fans on the edge of their seats.

The exceptionally immersive main trailer of Hellbound alludes to the birth of yet another legendary Netflix series. Hellbound will premiere globally on Netflix on November 19th.

YES, it's that contagious! there's something to it that made the whole world go crazy with the steps and the song of Korean Pop Star PSY. and not too far ago, OPPA GANGNAM STYLE has dominated the dance airwaves and immediately got viral in Facebook and in Youtube.
admitting that i'm not a KPop fan myself, but this video is somehow very relatable to everyone especially to Filipinos. with that feel-good and that "makapal ang mukha" character among all of us. the collision of many colors and culture was unintentionally turned into a cool music video.

OPPA GANGNAM STYLE - Psy original video

though the most of the world don't understand its lyrics, each can see how dare themselves to do their own parodies. here's the video made by Bogart the Explorer, a Filipino Youtube sensation. videos were made by even younger Youtube users.
