THE NETHER review

For my first theater production of the year, I was invited to see Red Turnip Theater's The Nether which runs from March 10 - April 9 at Power Mac Spotlight Center in Circuit City.
Walking inside the Power Mac Center welcomes you to a big space resembling a mansion's staircase, showing a lavish life of the character. Then an interrogation scene about a crime that involves virtual fantasies and behavior which we may all fall into. A mind-blogging and relevant theatrical production that when seen by many, could teach us to what can and would go wrong when we abuse the power of technology today.

Bring yourself to a deeper consciousness with Bernardo Bernardo, Bodjie Pascua, TJ Trinidad, Jenny Jamora and Alba Berenguer-Testa in The Nether. It confirms the dangers of the vast and meaty online environment that is indeed scary, not just for children but also for adults. The protection that we can learn from it is well received, as how the author, Jennifer Haley, wants us to preserve.

HOOQ Hangouts: Mano Po 7 Chinoy

Spent the night of February 4 with a few friends which I haven't seen in a long time. I can again feel that I am back to the blogging world and happy to be with missed friends.

And we went to the Globe Iconic Store at Bonifacio Global City where there is a huge screen playing videos. I was in HOOQ Hangouts which they've done more than three times now. And for that night, they are playing Mano Po 7: Chinoy for free at the big screen for everyone to see. It was just after Chinese New Year so the place is adorned with Chinese lanterns, blossoms and ang paos, and serving Chinese delicacies for us to feast in.
Later on, Jean Garcia and Richard Yap graced the event before we started the screening. The movie came back to theaters on February 8.
But the movie is already available at the HOOQ app for streaming. HOOQ lets you watch more than 10,000 TV series and movies online. All you need is a laptop, tablet or even your smart phone and you can watch anywhere, anytime. Here are available HOOQ plans from Globe:
HOOQ is also ad-free, features both local and international productions, and you can opt to cancel your membership with no hidden charges. I'm starting to download HOOQ so I can enjoy movies and TV shows while offline. I hope you can try it too.

What's up with Google? Google mo lang.

Found this link via Facebook and I really got interested in this very exciting game. Google actually serves you all its features by using the powerful search engine, Google. It makes you create your own "The Perfect Night" story with the Philippines' most influential online stars, Bogart the Explorer, Mikey Bustos, Spongecola, (I think, a group of guys is Chicser) and Erwan Heusaff.
The page let's you answer the celebs' questions by finding everything in Google. For example, Bogart asks you to give the population of the Philippines in 1990 and the answer is just a click away. As the story goes, you will find the others and they will ask you questions that are answerable by a Google away.
Answer to Bogart's question:

I missed those books that lets you choose alternate sequences and endings. This Google campaign is not only fun but very informative. Kudos.

After you completed all questions, you will receive badges so you can keep playing on it to complete all 8! Plus the phrase "Google mo lang" is very much distinct in their lines and it is very catchy.

Complete the game here: http://google.com.ph/campaigns/googlemolang

a netizen's choice: GMA NEWS TV

so there's a writing project about the netizens choice for their favorite TV station. with the network "wars" (if there really is) happening among fans, i would be really proud to say that GMA NEWS TV gets my vote on this one.
as all the other stations (ABS-CBN, TV5 and GMA7) strive to collect fans through their entertainment talents, there would be 3 reasons why i choose GMA NEWS TV.

1. programs are informative - it's a given. programs which promote Philippine culture, individual development, achievements on any aspects, we will truly be aware of what's happening to our surroundings. GMA NEWS TV not just deliver the news, they bring substance to the material they deliver.

2. balanced journalism - with such programs that involve controversial topics, GMA NEWS TV promotes balance arguments by taking both views from involved parties. the point of view is left to those who sees it but judgment is served by greater authority.

3. programs that push viewers to action. - sensitive subjects address not only the government [but mostly it is] but the concerned citizens that may be able to help those in need. the aim is to see the realities of the Filipino people.

4. it's on free TV. - the information they deliver doesn't have to be kept in private. that's why i admire GMA NEWS TV for its fearless exposition of issues and cases that surprise us.

this vote i hope isn't a killjoy to any other entries submitted. there were not guidelines to choose among the 3 giants on Philippine TV. i think people would think that this post would be really off of the choices where people choose only for the networks capitalizing on entertainment. GMA NEWS TV would really lead its league for news channels. don't get me wrong why most of my latest posts are angled to another station, that's a different story.

if you want to vote for your favorite TV station, this writing project is held by www.Starmometer.com, www.Showbiznest.com and www.LionhearTV.net. there's still a lot of time to vote for your favorite TV station. try to read this post and follow the mechanics.

WIFI sharing with PLDT MyDSL

Internet connections at home has been tough through the wired era. As a mobile internet user, I find it hard sometimes to search for Wi-Fi enabled places to connect to the internet. I am using broadband connection at home with a stick and sometimes signal is very poor. So I have to go out and look for an internet shop to be able to connect to the internet. And that's for just a limited time and cost.

But now, we can have access through any site using PLDT MyDSL's new MODEM and WIFI in one. Everyone in the family can enjoy the internet using wireless connections and with a good reputation of PLDT MyDSL, you can maximize your internet usage anywhere inside your home.

The PLDT MyDSL Wi-Fi modem is available in plans 990 and 1299. And you can install it easily because of its portability and sleekness. You cannot be tied up in any cable.

"Digital lifestyle is not an option," PLDT AVP and head of PLDT myDSL Gary Gujali. It has been an essential part of our life nowadays where we need to be updated by what's happening around us. And random things happen and we might want to share it in an instant. Like me, I always want to keep on track with my emails, statuses and news. I also read stuff using my mobile phone.

PLDT myDSL is the new convenient way on keeping on track. Availing plans like 999, 1995, and 3000, you and your family can surf unlimited internet. And one modem can accommodate multiple connections. So getting a PLDT myDSL wi-fi modem is a good investment.

NetSuite localizes program for Philippine users

NetSuite has become the leading software for business solutions and now it has made a localized version of the program for easy usage for all Filipino businesses. A consolidated program for business functions can now be accessed through the internet. All you need is a PC and an internet connection and you can now track records of your business in NetSuite.com/NetSuitePH.

NetSuite simplifies the business data access in one program from a hairball setting. hairballs create errors and delays in transactions. Also, you can track Finance and Accounting management tab of your account to monitor all transaction cycles. ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and CRM (Customer Relations Management) data can also be accessed in NetSuite so you don't have to spend a lot of money in hiring consultants and people.

Software issues were raised in the press conference held at the Manila Peninsula Hotel on October 14, 2010. According to NetSuite President and CEO, Zach Nelson, the software is guaranteed safe from hacks and viruses after its long study. the software is customized for Philippine business setting. Multinational companies like Jollibee and ICF@FEU has been using it for years and has minimized expenses and they have set their goals faster than ever. Cost for operations and IT expenses have been minimized by up to 75%. The NetSuite is tested for its efficiency and speed without worrying on the data.

ICF@FEU has used NetSuite in their academic and administrative tasks. People from the administration can look out for the operational tasks and also students can check on their grades wherever they are. The NetSuite program is also mobile and can be accessed even on iPhone browsers, all you need is an internet connection.

Business cloud computing in NetSuite Philippines has no issues with the BIR regulations. all transactions are designed with the BIR transaction assignments that will not confuse with other money cycles and tax management. With a special feature inside the NetSuite, you can process your ITR forms and print it straight from your PC when you need it for BIR requirements.

Aside from the data for your business inside the NetSuite page, you can also insert other RSS feeds so you can get an update in the news, weather conditions, etc. Graphic presentations can also be understood in the NetSuite so you can track the growth of your business from time to time.

Since some Philippines go international, language barriers is not an issue with NetSuite. Like social networking sites, NetSuite has a translation function that changes the language them from international English to the native tongue. So if you have colleagues in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia or China, they can also monitor your business.

Try out NetSuite program. This is also can be used by SMEs. They can have a comprehensive list of data to check on the operations like warehousing, supply management, in-house transactions and deliveries. Customer service is also manageable with the NetSuite program. Globalization is at hand with NetSuite.
