what to see at the 17th Philippine Hot Air Balloon Fiesta?

seeing it before the big day is a great experience to anticipate on what's happening at the 17th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. this event runs from February 9 - 12 2012 at the Clark Freeport Zone in Angeles, Pampanga. this is often tagged as the "Weekend of Everything that Flies!" true enough, preparations are coming in one by one and i bet there's a lot to see. below is the schedule of the event:
i didn't see any hot air balloons yet but i had a glimpse of what will be available throughout the 4 fun-filled days. at the hangar, i saw two jets, a wall climbing facility by ROX, a mini-gas station by co-presentor CALTEX, and a lot of bazaars. sorry I have to do my photo-op as early as today.

CALTEX mini-gas station
there are also some play areas for the kids like this booth from Lil Hands Crayons:
earlier on, we also had the chance to see the skydiving activity from the Philippine Air Force.
now i am excited to go back to Clark to see the new hot air balloons that will make their appearance at the 17th Philippine Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. come early because the balloons go up around 6AM. but you can enjoy the whole day with other activities and wait for the balloons to come back around 5PM. take your family and friends to see the weekend of everything that flies!

GLOBE and OWWA for World's Largest Kris Kringle!

calling all OFWs and their families! join the Globe Kababayan and OWWA's attempt for the Guinness World Record of Largest Kris Kringle happening on December 18, 2011 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.
if you love giving out gifts and being included in a Guinness Record, this is the moment you've been waiting for. just register at the OWWA office in Pasay City until December 14, 2011. then go to the Rizal Memorial Stadium on sunday for an afternoon of cheers.

since Christmas is not only celebrated in the Philippines, this event will also be held in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore. so our kababayans will also join Manila in opening gifts at the same time. this event is supported by local mobile networks, Hong Kong CSL, Taiwan Mobile and SingTEL in Singapore. calling is very affordable with Globe and through these networks with the cheap rates they offer.

the event schedule for December 18 is as follows:
10 AM - registration
12 NN - opening of gates
330PM - gift giving and opening of gifts

there's no amount requirement for the gifts that you're going to give. just be generous enough to bring the good cheer to the other participants this Christmas. the current holder of this record is ITV from UK with only 1,600 participants -- but we Filipinos, like to grab it all. the current registration is already 3,500. but if you invite your OFW relatives, we can surpass the record not just twice but even more!

the event would be actually quite fun so let's do it for Filipino Pride and for spreading the Christmas spirit! merry Christmas everyone!

END HUNGER: WALK THE WORLD 2011 for a cause

hunger is a major problem worldwide. all your faculties will not work well with an empty stomach. lucky for us who don't experience extreme hunger, we have at least a little muffin, and even go for a costly frapp or coffee and have a chitchat with friends. with money to spend, our problem is to choose what to eat, what to drink, where to eat. but what about those whom we don't know? we don't realize that there are a lot of people who think if they have something to eat or if they can survive another day. researches have shown that there are 1 out 6 children go to school hungry resulting to poor performance in school. and levels have been increasing that most kids do not graduate from school. worse, they die in the middle of hunger. fighting hunger is one of the millennium development goals of the United Nations which include the Philippines. and as one with the world, the special unit of UN fighting against hunger, World Food Program, has initiated a campaign to address MDG #1: Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger. this initiative is called Walk the World which goes for 6 years already worldwide. a simultaneous walk and run against hunger from 5AM of May 29, 2011 at the SM Mall of Asia Grounds in Pasay City invites all running enthusiasts who advocate the eradication of hunger and to help people improve their lives by eating healthy. there are three categories in which a person/group can join: 3K - Open Category, Php 250, with event shirt, starts at 6AM 5K - Men/Women's Categories, Php 500, with race kit, singlet and baller ID, starts at 545AM 10K- Group Category, Php 10,000, with race kit, singlet, baller ID, button pins and team plaque, starts at 530AM see last year's video of Walk the World featuring World Food Program Ambassador KC Concepcion who joined hundreds of people in the walk.

Proceeds will go to the feeding program in Mindanao where KC had immersed and firsthand witnessed the situation. the concentration in Mindanao is not an easy task that's why we have to help the World Food Program deliver to the needs of the people in that area. You can also do your part even if you cannot attend the Walk on May 29th. You can learn more information about the World Food Program and Walk the World by visiting http://wfp.org/walktheworld and Walk The World Pilipinas websites. this campaign is strongly supported by the World Food Program with corporate partners, TNT, Unilever and Pizza Hut.

Yehuda Berg is coming to Manila

Yehuda Berg, renowned authority on Kabbalah and co-director of Kabbalah Centre International, comes to Manila and gives a seminar based on his book, the Power to Change Everything.

change is really needed in these times. especially now that we are in the election season. because we are tired of the rotten system of governance, we as citizens should begin the change in ourselves not just putting a leader in a position and make him run over everything. the blame is to everyone. so if we want a better person in office, we should elect a person with deep concern for people and not fulfilling his own ambitions.

meet Yehuda Berg in Rockwell Tent on January 18, 2010 (Monday) and get ideas on how to change everything. the power of an individual may be very small but when collective and agreeing ideas merge, the strength and effect can be very big.

seminar starts at 7PM at the Rockwell Tent, Rockwell Drive Corner Estrella Street Rockwell Center , Makati.

ADMISSION IS FREE.

to register in the free lecture, email philippines@kabbalah.com or call (0920) 902-9008. limited slots is given to everyone who registers early.

Martin and Gary made music As 1

it's a Philippine music history as two rivals create music together in one stage. Gary Valenciano and Martin Nievera who are often compared to each other shared the big concert grounds of SM Mall of Asia on September 19 2009. quite a number of spectators and music lovers of the two guys are able to witness this historical event.

the show ran for 3 hours and everybody's attendance is very much WORTH IT! the silver and bronze areas are still okay for they provided special projection and i think this will be the cuts that will be shown on TV.

my favorite part would be their quartet with Zsazsa Padilla and Martin's ex-wife, Pops Fernandez which gave me the goosebumps. though the 2 ladies weren't at the stage per se, they rehearsed a special LCD performance that looked like an MTV. a special tribute to great artists like Michael Jackson and Frank Sinatra, the two had rearranged the songs merging the lyrics and style of both.

there's also a special appearance of their sons, Gab Valenciano and Ram Nievera giving a rock I Gotta Feeling by BEP.

with regards to Gary V's music, he never fails to give praises to God with his inspirational songs. Martin Nievera's signature sponsored songs was also performed. the two, of course, gave to our requests of capturing our hearts with songs like, Be My Lady and Warrior is A Child which are their top songs at each of everyone's minds. one segment brought everyone as they blasted everyone with the theme songs from the favorite kapamilya programs like Lobo, Sana Maulit Muli, Dahil May Isang Ikaw, Tayong Dalawa, Kahit Isang Saglit, and the latest movie, And I Love You So.

the concert ended with the As 1 song which has a special message significant for the upcoming elections.

Dani (Jen Chuaunsu) is an adventurous young traveler who constantly seeks for new adventures. Her story is told by every step she takes to and through various places. With each jouney, she makes it a point to take home a piece of her latest exploration. Dani’s wanderlust is driven by her desire to experience new things; to experience all things that she could. Throughout her travels and experiences, she constantly searches for the one treasure that she will hold dear forever.

It is their differences that give their relationship such a strong foundation which result in an understanding all their own. Like constantly clashing children, they always emerge with one winner and loser but always still best of friends.
