"Barbie Girl" played in the latest trailer of Barbie

The newest trailer for Warner Bros. Pictures' Barbie has been dropped and we get to see Barbie (Margot Robbie) and Ken (Ryan Gosling) take on the real world out of curiosity. The exodus from Barbie Land is pure fun with Will Ferrel, America Ferrera and more.
However, the last few seconds of the clip streams a very familiar tune. Check out the trailer below.

Many might be well aware of the beef between British pop group Aqua and Mattel because of the former's song "Barbie Girl" which was categorized as obscene by the latter. It has been a long-time issue between the two but the song has earned a lot in the charts and album sales. Even repeatedly recorded and used in many occasions where the party is. Many would have expected it should be used in this movie (even just as a cover) and WB has heard the fans. We would just like that Mattel and Aqua would come into reconciliation and just move on while they both earn from the rights. ;)

Barbie the Movie opens July 21 in theaters, also starring Simu Liu, Emma Mackey, Michael Cera, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Dua Lipa, Helen Mirren and more. Directed by Greta Gerwig.

THE GOOD LIAR movie review

What started from a good relationship turns out to be a well-crafted swindling act in The Good Liar. Two amazing actors, Ian McKellen plays as Roy Courtnay and Helen Mirren as Betty McLeish begin as two lovable characters and their true selves reveal as the story unfolds.
Both started to be very lovable but when Roy shifts as a conman dealing with millions of money, you'll hate him very much and feel bad about Betty. His antics are very well planned and he can get away with it flawlessly.

Meanwhile Helen Mirren gets to have your affection effectively and she'll draw you to be concerned of her character, Betty.

As the story goes along, the scenes are becoming predictable but exciting with hidden twists. You cannot really much distinguish which character is telling the truth as the title suggests. A good eye and playful mind will applaud this wonderfully written screenplay about truth and deception.

The Good Liar is now showing in the Philippines, distributed by Warner Bros. Philippines.

COLLATERAL BEAUTY movie review

Happy new year! I haven't posted a lot in the past 8 months but I would like to make sure that starting the year would open a lot of good for us. Starting with the latest film with Will Smith, Helen Mirren, Michael Pena, Kate Winslet, Edward Norton, and Kiera Knightley in the movie called Collateral Beauty. Opening today in cinemas, I highly recommend this to everyone to look forward and see the bigger and better picture in every thing that is happening to us.
SYPNOSIS: When a successful New York advertising executive suffers a great tragedy he retreats from life.  While his concerned friends try desperately to reconnect with him, he seeks answers from the universe by writing letters to Love, Time and Death.  But it’s not until his notes bring unexpected personal responses that he begins to understand how these constants interlock in a life fully lived, and how even the deepest loss can reveal moments of meaning and beauty.
Time, Love and Death played very well on this one. They actually like speaking through you and not to the characters that are portrayed in the movie. When the story is served in front of you, you feel like everything is relatable. I actually cried in many parts. The movie gives so many metaphors and again hits you right on the spot. Congratulations to Allan Loeb for writing this in such a way that made you realize and appreciate these three things in our lives. Moments are derived from sadness and it takes us to be happy, just learning how to appreciate time and love. It also makes us prepare for Death, be ready and accept when it arrives.

From Warner Bros. Pictures, Collateral Beauty is directed by David Frankel.

HITCHCOCK movie review

Psycho has truly made an icon out of Alfred Hitchcock. the director that we all knew about this thriller and has been a peg in other gruesome mind-torturing movies. in HITCHCOCK, we learn more about the person himself and how a person finds achievement and beauty despite being surrounded with people who disagree.
i've seen that in Hitchcock, played by Anthony Hopkins, a great person is not born, but made. Hitchcock's dedication in pursuant of making Psycho is not a straight road to success. in the course with his wife (Helen Mirren), the journey turned into a wildlife as he almost trusted nobody. making the movie Psycho was not easy as it was conceptualized and executed but you will find it funny, interesting before the horror.
Alfred Hitchcock has written his life like a movie. in this, he appears very perfectionist but humble in his rights. and in this life he experiences what most of us do.

i liked how they depicted Hitchcock with make-up and even expanded Anthony Hopkins' body with prosthetics. i've not seen him in interviews and all, but the character immersed in Anthony Hopkins like it was really him. great job for the acting. Helen Mirren, Jessica Biel and Scarlett Johansson were all great in the co-production of Psycho. Helen Mirren, we can say, that she controlled Hitchcock more powerfully than any of his women. behind the man's success is a woman.
HITCHCOCK is a stellar movie you shouldn't miss. exclusively seen at Ayala Cinemas starting February 6.

ARTHUR movie review

if you have billions of dollars in hand, what would you do? for Arthur (Russel Brand), who is the sole-heir in a business empire, trashes his wealth out to the people around. and this includes party, alcohol and sex. bringing shame to his family, his mother arranged a marriage for him and another business heir, Susan (Jennifer Garner) and in return, Arthur has to brush off his childishness.

but along the way, he finds an average girl named Naomi (Greta Gerwid) who opened the doors to Arthur of living a simple life. Arthur then realizes what he has been missing and eventually fell in love with Naomi.

to save the business empire, Susan has a lot to work on Arthur to push through with the marriage. even to lie to herself that Arthur doesn't like her. desperate measures to have a share in Arthur's coming wealth when they get married.

but in all of this, Arthur's nanny, Hobson (Helen Mirren), is the only person that can understand him. she thinks that Arthur is a strong person and in how we see Arthur, he is worth loving for. too bad that she had to die before the story ends but this has made Arthur live on his own and grow up as a man. i love her character as i wish that there could be more like her -- who understands you in whatever you do and supports you.

it's so good to be like Arthur. but we have to remember the consequences and responsibilities as a person, whether we'll be rich or poor. mixed up with a lot of humor but it brings back the lesson to you at the end.

Arthur opens on April 23 in the Philippines, distributed by Warner Bros Pictures, a Warner Bros Entertainment Company.
