ZTE sees double increases in operating revenue and profit in 2022

- Stable growth achieved at the solid start of ZTE’s expansion phase
- The operating revenue reaching RMB 122.95 billion in 2022, 7.4% higher than a year earlier
- The profit hitting RMB 8.08 billion in 2022, leveling up its profitability steadily
ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a global leading provider of information and communication technology solutions, released its Annual Report 2022, showing a full-year operating revenue of RMB 122.95 billion in 2022, 7.4% higher than the year earlier.

The year 2022 marked the start of the Company's expansion phase.
During the year, ZTE solidified its position with innovative initiatives while maintaining steady operations. With the business philosophy of maintaining quality growth, during the period, ZTE seized the trend towards global digitalization and decarbonization development, strengthened its DICT's full-stack and full-domain R&D investment and innovation, and continuously improved the competitiveness of ZTE’s key technologies and products.

In terms of R&D, ZTE also invested RMB 21.60 billion in 2022, covering 17.6% of the revenue. At the same time, ZTE continues to deepen the digital and intelligent transformation, improve the organizational flexibility, elasticity and resilience, and ensure the orderly, efficient and healthy development for all businesses.
Meanwhile, the operating revenue in both the domestic and international markets, and operating revenue in the ZTE’s three major businesses including carriers' networks, government and enterprise business, as well as consumer business, all achieved a year-on-year growth. Operating revenue of the domestic market reached RMB 85.24 billion, 69.3% of its overall operating revenue while the operating revenue from the international market hit RMB 37.71 billion, covering 30.7% of its overall operating revenue.
For carriers' networks, in 2022, ZTE harvested an annual operating revenue of RMB 80.04 billion, a YOY increase of 5.7%. During the period, ZTE continued to increase the global market share of key products such as wireless networks and wired networks. According to the latest report, ZTE’s 2022 annual shipments of 5G base stations, 5G core networks and 200G coherent port all ranked second in the world, the revenue of POL OLT increased to second globally.
For government and corporate business, ZTE achieved an operating revenue of RMB 14.63 billion, a year-on-year growth of 11.8%. ZTE's core products such as server and storage, GoldenDB distributed databases, and cloud computers, have achieved rapid growth in the number of top customers across the industries including finance and Internet. In addition, ZTE, centering on the business needs of business resilience, systematic growth and cost reduction, and relying on efficient digital infrastructure and the "Digital Nebula" based on the cloud-native transaction architecture, has been deeply integrating ICT technologies with the industries to explore the digital transformation of finance, Internet, power, transportation, and large enterprises.

In terms of consumer business, ZTE generated an operating revenue of RMB 28.28 billion, a year-on-year increase of 9.9% during the period. The Company has gradually integrated mobile phones, mobile Internet products, home information terminals, and ecological capabilities to provide individuals and families with a rich selection of smart products. In 2022, ZTE, Nubia, and Red Magic launched a variety of mobile phones to meet different market demands. Meanwhile, ZTE's mobile Internet product 5G MBB & FWA remained the world's first in terms of global shipment. During the period, the Company's home information terminals witnessed a leapfrog growth, with its PON CPE and DSL CPE shipments ranked first globally and its STB remained in the leading position in terms of the market share.

LG’S Inverter Direct Drive Motor Reaches Milestone with 100 Million Units Produced

A Key Component of Premium LG Washing Machines for More than Two Decades, Company’s Innovative Motor Technology Continues to Evolve for Excellence

LG Electronics (LG) announces that production of its Inverter Direct Drive™ (DD™) motor has exceeded 100 million units. The company’s differentiated motor technology is a major factor in the strong, reliable performance and continuing global popularity of LG’s industry-leading laundry solutions.

From 1998 to the end of 2022, the company produced, on average, over 12,000 Inverter DD motors per day. LG’s Inverter DD motor connects directly to the washing drum, an innovation that helps make LG washing machines more durable and dramatically reduces noise and energy consumption during operation.

LG has refined the Inverter DD motor over four generations, continuously improving the technology and its performance capabilities to deliver greater customer value. The company holds over 240 Inverter DD motor related technology patents in Korea and internationally. In 2019, the company applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) to the Inverter DD motor to further enhance its efficiency and effectiveness. Used in LG’s premium washing machines and dryers, the AI DD motor leverages deep learning technology to detect the weight of each load and the types of fabrics being washed. It then selects the optimal combination of drum movements from the company’s proprietary 6 Motion tech – which enables six discrete drum movements – to care and clean for users’ laundry.

Last year, LG brought its advanced Inverter DD motor to its dryers for the first time. Like the company’s washers, LG dryers also offer 6 Motion (Tumble, Swing, Rolling, Stepping, Scrubbing, and Filtration) technology to boost drying performance and minimize fabric damage. LG Recognized With AHRI Performance Award for Sixth Consecutive Year

Across Seven Different Product Categories, Company’s HVAC Solutions Again Pass Industry Body’s Comprehensive Performance Certification Program

LG Electronics (LG) has earned the Air-Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) Performance Award for the sixth year in a row. The challenging-to-obtain accolade points to the consistently high quality of LG’s HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) solutions, as every model selected by AHRI for testing must pass all evaluations for three straight years for the award to be granted.

AHRI is a globally-respected trade association representing the world’s HVAC, refrigeration, and water heating solution manufacturers. Established in 1953, AHRI now boasts more than 350 member companies.

To ensure the highest standard of testing, the majority of AHRI Performance Award evaluations are conducted by Intertek, one of the world’s most trusted third-party standards, certification and testing organizations. Intertek runs a comprehensive battery of assessments on the selected products to determine if the actual performance is consistent with the specifications listed by the manufacturer.

Representing seven product categories – including, for the first time, Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERV) – all 67 LG HVAC solutions submitted for testing passed AHRI’s rigorous evaluations for the third year in a row (2020 to 2022). In addition to LG’s ERV, the models evaluated belong to the following HVAC categories: Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF), Unitary Small Heat Pump (USHP), Water-Cooled Chillers (WCLL), Air-Cooled Chillers (ACCL), Room Fan Coil (RFC) air conditioners and Packaged Terminal Heat Pumps (PTHP).
One of the LG products evaluated for the AHRI Performance Award, the LG Multi V large-capacity outdoor unit employs the company’s proprietary Ultimate Inverter Compressor to deliver a strong, energy efficient performance. Popular with customers worldwide, especially those in Northern Hemisphere countries where winters can be particularly cold, LG’s flagship VRF system is able to provide dependable heating operation in temperatures as low as negative-30 degrees Celsius (negative-22 degrees Fahrenheit) and for cooling operation in temperatures as high as 48 Degree Celsius for tropical countries.
