LG SIGNATURE evolves with AI, redefining premium home appliances at CES 2026

Company Unveils Expanded AI-Powered SIGNATURE Lineup with Advanced Performance and Refined Minimal Design
LG Electronics (LG) is presenting the next evolution of its premium LG SIGNATURE brand at CES 2026 in Las Vegas (January 6-9). Marking a decade of innovation, the latest LG SIGNATURE collections introduce an expanded range of products that blend powerful AI capabilities and elevated design – while preserving the brand’s timeless aesthetics of quiet luxury.

Powered by LG’s AI Core-Tech, the new LG SIGNATURE lineup brings enhanced intelligence and seamless convenience to everyday living. With a suite of AI-driven features and generative AI functions, the appliances provide personalized experiences designed to maximize user convenience.

As the centerpiece of the showcase is the new LG SIGNATURE refrigerator, which embodies LG’s vision for the intelligent kitchen. Equipped with conversational AI based on Large Language Model (LLM) technology, the refrigerator supports natural-language-based interactions to provide tailored suggestions.1 A new 6.8-inch LCD display complements LG’s advanced AI technologies, helping maintain cooling levels for optimal freshness. Additionally, the AI Fresh feature monitors temperature fluctuations based on user patterns and pre-cools the interior – up to two hours before an anticipated door opening.
For even greater convenience, the LG SIGNATURE Smart InstaView™ refrigerator streamlines food management through ThinQ™ Food, which uses an internal camera to help identify ingredients, suggest recipes and offer creative substitutions based on the items inside.2 When not in use, you can set elegant visuals to appear on the T-OLED InstaView panel, enriching the ambience and transforming the kitchen into an expressive, inspiring space.

To elevate the cooking experience, the LG SIGNATURE Oven Range offers functions such as Gourmet AI, which uses an AI camera inside the oven to identify more than 85 dishes and automatically select the ideal cooking settings. The AI Browning feature monitors bread as it bakes and sends a notification through the ThinQ app when it reaches the preset level of doneness. Connected smartphone features include real-time monitoring, a time-lapse recap after cooking and easy sharing on social media.
The new SIGNATURE lineup stays true to its Refined Minimal design identity – a unified aesthetic defined by sleek horizontal lines, iconic gold accents and meticulous craftsmanship. Reflecting the brand’s heritage of excellence, the latest products balance elegant design with maximized capacity and enhanced AI-driven performance.

LG will introduce three new LG SIGNATURE design collections – Seamless, Iconic and Tailored – giving consumers the freedom to choose products that best fit their needs and personal style. Built to meet the highest performance standards, the collections incorporate bold materials that create a confident presence in the home. Aligned with this approach, LG aims to broaden its premium customer base by strengthening region-specific strategies and accelerating growth across global high-end markets.

In addition, LG SIGNATURE will showcase immersive spaces in collaboration with Italian high-end furniture brand Poliform, demonstrating how the appliances harmonize with luxury interiors to deliver thoughtfully orchestrated premium living solutions.

“LG SIGNATURE brings design, performance and experience together in tune, redefining the future of luxury in the home and setting a new standard for premium appliances,” said Baek Seung-tae, president of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company. “Marking its 10th anniversary, the expanded LG SIGNATURE lineup continues to lead the global market for customers seeking a more expressive, elevated lifestyle.”

Visitors to CES 2026 can explore the new additions to the all-new LG SIGNATURE lineup at LG’s booth from January 6-9 (#15004, Las Vegas Convention Center).

LG Announces Organizational Changes for 2026

Lyu Jae-cheol Appointed as New CEO to Strengthen Fundamental Competitiveness of Core Businesses
LG Electronics (LG) today announced that Lyu Jae-cheol will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer, effective December 1. Mr. Lyu has successfully led the LG Home Appliance Solution (HS) Company, driving sustainable growth through expanded B2B operations, subscription-based and direct-to-consumer (D2C) business models, and continued competitive leadership based on LG’s core strengths in home appliances.

As CEO, Mr. Lyu will focus on expanding LG’s market-leading DNA in home appliances – built on delivering differentiated customer value – across the entire organization, further enhancing the company’s fundamental competitiveness and growth potential.

Mr. Lyu joined Goldstar (now LG Electronics) in 1989 as a researcher in the Home Appliance Research Center and has spent nearly half of his career in home appliance R&D, building deep technical expertise that has shaped his leadership approach. Since 2021, he has served as head of the H&A (now HS) Company, leading LG to become the global No. 1 home appliance brand.

Despite delayed recovery in consumer sentiment and intensifying market competition, he strengthened the leadership of flagship products while laying the groundwork for sustainable growth through continuous R&D. He also expanded HS Company’s business portfolio by advancing appliance subscription services, online channel growth, and B2B business areas such as built-in appliances and component solutions.

Leadership Transition
William Cho will step down to support a healthy leadership transition after laying a strong foundation for sustainable growth during his four-year tenure as CEO.

Mr. Cho, who joined LG in 1987 and has dedicated 37 years to the company, expanded LG’s business beyond home appliances into sectors such as mobility and commercial spaces and established a mid- to long-term vision to transform LG into a Smart Life Solution Company that connects and extends customer experience across diverse spaces. His strategic direction prioritized performance in core businesses; growth in B2B, non-hardware and D2C areas; expansion into high-potential Global South markets; and exploration of new business domains – each becoming key milestones in LG’s future growth strategy.

To further accelerate growth of LG’s two key B2B pillars – vehicle solutions and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) – the company has promoted Eun Seok-hyun, head of the Vehicle Solution (VS) Company, and James Lee, head of the Eco Solution (ES) Company, to president.

Kwack Do-yeong, who brings extensive experience in sales and strategy at the HS Company and a deep understanding of global markets, has been appointed Region Representative of LG Electronics North America and head of LG Electronics USA.

2026 Organizational Restructure
This year’s organizational changes focus on enhancing efficiency to build a more agile decision-making structure capable of responding to rapid external shifts, while reinforcing selective and focused operations to accelerate LG’s mid- to long-term portfolio strategy.

LG will maintain its existing four-Company structure, ensuring fast and accountable decision-making at the Company level. Similar and adjacent functions across business organizations will be integrated to streamline operations and improve execution efficiency.

With Mr. Lyu’s appointment as CEO, executive vice president Baek Seung-tae, previously head of the Kitchen Solutions Business, will assume leadership of the HS Company. Baek has strengthened global appliance competitiveness through roles leading both the Living Solutions and Kitchen Solutions Business and is well positioned to advance global production strategies under changing market conditions. The heads of the Media Entertainment Solution (MS), VS and ES Companies will remain in their roles to ensure continuity and strategic momentum.

Strengthening Growth Foundations for Future-oriented and High-potential Businesses
In parallel with organizational efficiency, LG is establishing new engines to accelerate high-potential business domains including HVAC, webOS and robotics.
  • The HS Company will establish the HS B2B Overseas Sales Division to grow global built-in and builder-focused business, and elevate the Built-in/Cooking Business Division to a Business.
  • The HS Robotics Lab will be newly created, integrating select functions from the Chief Technology Office’s Advanced Robotics Lab. Research Fellow Lee Jae-wook, who led the Humanoid Robot Task, will head the lab.
  • The MS Company will integrate its TV and IT Businesses into a single Display Business, and establish a Display Product Development Group to strengthen product competitiveness. The webOS Advertisement Business Department will be elevated to a Business to strengthen support for the expansion of webOS-based service operations
  • The ES Company will establish a new Applied Business Division focused on HVAC solutions for data center cooling, ventilation, refrigeration and nuclear power, while launching the ES M&A Division and ES Overseas Sales Division to support localized, end-to-end overseas operations.
  • Within the Chief Technology Office, a new HS Advanced Research Lab will enhance fundamental technology competitiveness, and a Next-Generation Computing Lab will be established to strengthen leadership in emerging technologies such as quantum and distributed computing and next-generation security.
  • To drive companywide AI transformation, the existing DX Center and Business Process Innovation Division will be integrated into a new organization, the AX Center. Under the leadership of senior vice president Cho Jung-bum, former head of the DX Center, the AX Center will spearhead efforts to accelerate AI adoption, enhance operational efficiency, advance R&D and strengthen employee capabilities.
All appointments and structural changes take effect December 1, 2025, with promotions effective January 1, 2026.

LG releases third-quarter 2024 financial results

Company Achieves Highest Third-Quarter Revenue and Sustains Year-Over-Year Growth for Four Consecutive Quarters
LG Twin Towers
LG Electronics Inc. (LG) today announced its third-quarter 2024 consolidated revenue of KRW 22.18 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 751.9 billion. This revenue marks the highest ever for a third quarter, while the operating profit ranks as the fourth highest in the company’s history.

Several external factors impacted the third quarter, including a prolonged delay in market demand recovery and ongoing geopolitical conflicts worldwide. These challenges led to a rise in global shipping expenses, contributing to increased costs.

Despite these obstacles, LG has achieved year-over-year revenue growth for four consecutive quarters by upgrading its business portfolio. This includes transforming business methods and models and expanding B2B operations. These efforts have allowed LG to partially offset the unavoidable cost increases, enabling the company to maintain a robust operating profit, signifying the retention of strong fundamental competitiveness.

Looking ahead, LG plans to further accelerate its business transformation by expanding home appliance subscriptions, direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales and volume zone product sales. In addition, the company aims to drive steady growth in the B2B sector while also expanding platform-based content and service businesses.

The LG Home Appliance & Air Solution Company generated third-quarter revenue of KRW 8.34 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 527.2 billion. Compared to the same period last year, revenue increased by 11.7 percent and operating profit by 5.5 percent. Despite challenging external conditions, LG’s home appliance business outperformed its peers, reaffirming its top-tier competitiveness. Even with the delayed recovery in global appliance demand, the rapid growth of the subscription business model and B2B HVAC business drove revenue expansion. Although the surge in logistics costs in the second half of the year significantly impacted operating profit, the company achieved results exceeding the same period last year, thanks to revenue growth and exceptional manufacturing competitiveness.

In the fourth quarter, market conditions are expected to gradually improve, as indicated by improvements in leading economic indicators in major countries and interest rate cuts. LG plans to diversify its home appliance lineup and pricing strategy to meet the growing demand in emerging markets, while also expanding new businesses such as subscriptions and D2C sales to maintain revenue growth. The company will continue to focus on efficient operations, considering the seasonal increase in marketing expenses, to secure profitability.

The LG Home Entertainment Company posted third-quarter revenue of KRW 3.75 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 49.4 billion. Revenue increased by 5.2 percent compared to the same period last year, driven by increased shipments in Europe – a key market for OLED TVs. Although the cost burden increased significantly due to a sharp rise in LCD panel prices, the continued growth of the webOS-based content and services business minimized the impact on overall profits.

In the fourth quarter, the TV market is expected to see slight growth, primarily in entry-level products, compared to the same period last year. LG plans to respond flexibly to changes in TV market demand while accelerating growth by expanding its webOS partnerships to increase its user base.

The LG Vehicle component Solutions Company reported third-quarter revenue of KRW 2.61 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 1.1 billion. Revenue increased compared to the same period last year but slightly decreased from the previous quarter due to a slowdown in electric vehicle (EV) demand. Operating profit also declined, impacted by increased R&D expenses for securing software-defined vehicle (SDV) technology and preemptive investments for mass production of order volumes.

The market in the fourth quarter is expected to maintain a growth trend compared to the same period last year and the previous quarter. However, growth is anticipated to slow due to stagnant EV demand. LG plans to focus on sales growth based on its secured order backlog and on strengthening the market position of its main products, including telematics, AVN and motors. Additionally, the company will continue efforts to improve efficiency across its operations and pursue profitability.

The LG Business Solutions Company reported third-quarter revenue of KRW 1.40 trillion and an operating loss of KRW 76.9 billion. Revenue grew year-over-year due to increased sales of strategic products such as gaming monitors and LED signage, as well as securing large-scale B2B orders for PC products. However, the operating loss expanded due to rising LCD panel prices, increased logistics costs, intensified competition and higher investments in nurturing new businesses within the Company.

In the fourth quarter, demand for strategic product lines including gaming monitors and LED signage is expected to grow by double digits compared to the same period last year. Additionally, the rising interest in AI PCs is anticipated to boost demand for premium laptops. Consequently, the Company plans to expand sales of strategic products and focus on improving profitability through efficient operations.

Meanwhile, following a board resolution last month, LG decided to discontinue its battery pack business. As a result, starting from the third-quarter earnings report, related revenue and operating profit will be treated as discontinued operations in the financial statements. This will also lead to adjustments in past revenue and operating profit figures.

LG Amplifies Positive Influence of the Life's Good Campaign via Social Media Challenge

Company’s ‘Optimism your feed’ Playlist Garners 1.2 Billion Views in Just Three Weeks
LG Electronics (LG) has launched a global social media challenge to amplify its brand promise of ‘Life’s Good’ by encouraging customers worldwide to create and share moments of everyday optimism on their social media feeds. Running across TikTok and Instagram, the challenge encourages participants to foster a more positive environment on their social media feeds by posting optimistic moments and selfies featuring the “finger heart” gesture – a popular symbol among K-pop idols created by forming a mini heart with the index finger and thumb – using the hashtags #Lifesgood and #Optimismyourfeed.

“LG is committed to delivering on its promise of ‘Life’s Good. This social media challenge aims to uncover and share what ‘Life’s Good’ means to our customers,” said Kim Hyo-eun, vice president and head of LG’s Brand Management Division. “We believe there is real power in approaching life with an optimistic attitude, and our Optimism your feed campaign’s social media challenge is all about embracing the opportunity to inspire more positive activities in the virtual and real world.”

The social media challenge is part of LG’s ‘Optimism your feed’ campaign and follows the launch last month of LG’s Optimism your feed playlist – a collection of original content that, when interacted with, will pull more optimistic content into your feed. Created in collaboration with global influencers known for their positive impact, the playlist offers users the opportunity to experience more uplifting and encouraging posts. Within just three weeks of its release on TikTok, YouTube and other social media platforms, the playlist has garnered over 1.2 billion views. It has resonated with viewers worldwide, prompting comments about their eagerness to participate and positively influence their algorithms.

The social media challenge invites users around the world to join influencers including Tina Choi, Victoria Browne, Josh Harmon, Team1llusion, Lenna Vivas and Samuel Weidenhofer in spreading optimism across social media feeds. In just four days, around 21,000 users have already joined the movement to share their optimistic moments.

Meanwhile, LG has also launched an offline campaign event called ‘Optimism your day,’ which will run till early July. Continuing from last year, a truck adorned with the company’s ‘Life’s Good’ brand slogan is scheduled to tour the 11 business sites in Korea. The truck features a large LED display that plays ‘Life’s Good’ campaign videos and showcases positivity slogans shared by LG employees worldwide. LG believes in spreading the campaign’s message of optimism to employees as well as the outside world.

“We are all brand ambassadors of LG,” said CEO William Cho. “If each of us starts brightening our surroundings one step at a time, I believe LG will one day become a company that truly radiates positivity, helping to create better lives and a better world.”

LG Launches Global Campaign ‘OPTIMISM YOUR FEED’ to Help Bring More Balance to Social Media Feeds

‘Optimism your feed’ Playlist Curated by Global Influencers Will Enable Users to Engage With Optimistic and Inspiring Content on Their Social Media Feeds
LG Electronics (LG) today launched a global campaign called ‘Optimism your feed,’ which aims to help users bring more optimism to their social media experience by inviting them to proactively engage with positive and inspiring content on their feeds.

“As a customer-focused brand, LG is a passionate champion of optimism. We aim to create positive changes in people’s lives by being intentional with our positive activities both online and in the real world,” said Kim Hyo-eun, vice president and head of LG’s Brand Management Division. “In the AI era, LG remains committed to our unwavering promise of ‘Life’s Good.’ We will continue to enhance our customers’ lives with a human-centric approach, fostering hope for a better future.”

A new global survey commissioned by LG found that social media is both a source of anxiety and a place where people turn to be entertained, keep up with friends and family, and stay informed about news and current events. According to the survey, almost half of respondents (45 percent) report their social media feeds consist of an equal or greater amount of negative content than positive content. One in four respondents (28 percent) claimed negative content on their social media feeds has increased their anxiety and one in five (20 percent) said it has made them unhappy. Other studies also suggest that algorithms often promote negative and niche conversations.
The global survey sought to understand the triggers that affect how algorithms work and how to increase your feed’s positive content. The result is the ‘Optimism your feed’ playlist of original content that, when interacted with, will pull more optimistic content into your feed.[i] ‘Optimism your feed’ is part of LG’s global Life’s Good campaign, introduced last year to inspire and encourage people to approach life with an optimistic attitude.

Created in collaboration with global influencers renowned for their optimistic influences including Tina Choi, Victoria Browne, Josh Harmon and more, the ‘Optimism your feed’ playlist includes over 20 short-form videos ranging from motivation to feel-good content.

Additionally, LG is consulting with social media experts including Professor Casey Fiesler, an information scientist and technology ethicist, with a PhD in Human Centered Computing. Fiesler researches and teaches in the areas of technology ethics, internet policy, and online communities, and has published on topics such as social media content moderation and recommender systems. She also educates the public on these topics as a content creator.

Social media has become an integral part of our lives, and algorithms play a significant role in the content that we see in these spaces. LG’s global playlist and campaign gives users the opportunity to see more positive and uplifting posts. By being more conscious about what we choose to engage with, we can bring stronger optimism, balance and happiness to our lives.

According to Fiesler, “Recommendation algorithms determine what we see on social media by predicting what content we are likely to engage with. These algorithms can therefore send us down ever more specific niches – for good and for bad. Research has shown that left unchecked, users can go down negative rabbit holes and encounter harmful content quite quickly. One of our first lines of defense needs to be improving our digital literacy, and paying more attention to how algorithms influence our online experiences. And the good news is that we do have some control over the input for these algorithmic predictions; if we choose to engage with optimistic content, there’s a good possibility we will see more of it.”

Victoria Browne, a global influencer and TEDx Talk speaker, said, “The algorithms on our social channel can have a big impact on the content we see online, which impacts our mental health. That’s why I’m passionate about ‘Optimism your feed’, and I hope that people use this playlist as a foundation to retrain their algorithm and encourage positivity in all aspects of their lives. So much of the stigma and difficulty of tackling mental health is that it is unseen. With this campaign, we are saying you should reach out to your friends, and that we can help each other. Our algorithm should recommend content that makes us feel more connected to people, not less.”

The ‘Optimism your feed’ playlist can be found on LG’s global TikTok channel (@lge_lifesgood) and global YouTube channel (@LGGlobal), and will later spread to various social media platforms through collaborations with influencers around the world. More details can be found on the campaign page on lg.com (lg.com/lifesgood).

LG Announces Q1 2024 Financial Results

Company Pushes Boundaries With Innovative Business Models While Balancing Core Operations and Future Growth to Create New Opportunities
LG Electronics Inc. (LG) announced first-quarter 2024 consolidated revenue of USD 16.4 billion and operating profit of USD 1.001 billion. The company’s home appliance sector demonstrated global leadership, achieving record-breaking revenue and double-digit operating profit margins. The EV components sector, a key driver of future growth, continued its steady expansion. Both the TV and business solutions sectors experienced year-on-year sales growth and returned profits compared to the previous quarter.

Despite navigating challenging macroeconomic conditions such as high commodity prices, volatile exchange rates, rising interest rates and delayed demand recovery, LG achieved its highest-ever total revenue for a first quarter. This milestone underscores the effectiveness of implementing sustainable business models like subscription services and leveraging growth opportunities in the promising B2B sector. LG’s emphasis on differentiating features such as AI, energy efficiency and customer-centric design has strengthened its competitiveness in the premium market. Furthermore, the strategic approach of offering diverse product lineups and flexible pricing structures enabled the company to successfully navigate polarized demand trends.

Operating profit surpassed USD 752 million for the fifth consecutive year, showcasing LG’s strong performance in the face of intensifying market competition. The company’s focus on content/service businesses and direct-to-consumer sales via the Online Brand Shop (OBS) has fueled qualitative growth. Efforts to stabilize raw material and logistics costs, coupled with production location flexibility, have further bolstered profitability.

The LG Home Appliance & Air Solution Company generated first-quarter revenue of USD 8.4 billion and an operating profit of USD 707 million. This represents a notable 7.2 percent increase in revenue compared to the same period last year, setting a new record for first-quarter performance. Operating profits reached the second-highest level in the company’s history, with an operating profit margin of 10.9 percent, underscoring the company’s exceptional global competitiveness.

Driven by its core technologies, particularly in motors and compressors, LG’s home appliance business continues to innovate within a mature market landscape. With a commitment to industry leadership, LG is pioneering transformative initiatives such as product subscription services and advancing the concept of ‘Affectionate Intelligence’ appliances. These innovations are tailored to empathize with and address customer needs effectively. Moreover, LG is strategically expanding its B2B ventures, including HVAC and built-in solutions, to capitalize on emerging growth opportunities.

The LG Vehicle component Solutions Company reported first-quarter revenue of USD 2.002 billion and an operating profit of USD 39 million, reflecting an 11.5 percent year-on-year revenue increase. The ongoing conversion of backlog orders into revenue is progressing steadily. Despite ongoing investments in overseas production sites to fulfill new orders and meet OEM demands, the company has maintained stable profitability, benefiting from economies of scale resulting from revenue expansion.

While there are expectations of a slight slowdown in the recent growth of EV demand, the demand for high-value-added EV components continues to rise steadily. LG is proactively addressing these market dynamics by developing a balanced portfolio, spanning from in-vehicle infotainment to powertrains and headlamps. The company aims to ensure sustained revenue growth and a stable profit base by actively adapting to these market shifts.

The LG Home Entertainment Company reported first-quarter revenue of USD 2.6 billion and an operating profit of USD 99.5 million. This represents a 4.2 percent increase in revenue compared to the same period last year, driven by a resurgence in TV demand in Europe and the successful launch of new 2024 models. The positive operating profit was fueled by the robust performance of the webOS content/service business, alongside traditional product sales. Despite challenges such as rising LCD panel prices, the company effectively managed profitability.

Looking ahead, a gradual recovery in the TV market demand is anticipated in the second half of the year. LG’s strategy focuses on leveraging its globally leading OLED TV and premium LCD QNED TV offerings while continuously enhancing the profitability of the webOS platform business, which is poised for rapid growth.

The LG Business Solutions Company reported first-quarter revenue of USD 1.1 billion, marking a 6.5 percent increase year-over-year, and an operating profit of USD 19.6 million. The launch of new LG gram laptops, featuring on-device AI and timed for graduation and enrollment seasons, garnered positive market feedback. In addition, sales of commercial display products, including electronic whiteboards and LED signage, experienced growth. While operating profit returned to positive territory from the previous quarter, there was a slight decrease compared to the same period last year, attributed to factors such as rising component prices and intensified competition.

This year, the overall IT market is expected to maintain similar demand levels to the previous year, with a slight growth anticipated in the commercial display segment. There is an expected increase in demand for high-spec IT products like gaming monitors and LED signage. LG aims to lead the market with strategic IT products tailored to customer needs, integrating gaming-specific features and OLED displays, alongside premium LED products. Efforts to proactively develop promising new businesses such as robotics and EV charging continue to drive future growth prospects.
