The leader of the Pink Ladies

SURPRISED!

That's what I am when 9 Works Theatrical's Facebook page released a new face in the rerun of Grease! Who would have thought that someone is getting back to her roots as a theater actress?
Antoinette Taus plays Rizzo, the leader of the Pink Ladies and Sandy's rival to the heart of Danny in Grease. Of course everybody knows her! From her TV credits from ABS-CBN to her big career move in GMA where we knew her as Bianca in TGIS, Anna Karenina Monteclaro in Anna Karenina and more. We also knew her in AngTV and Oki Doki Dok as Doc Aga's niece. You also know her brother very, very well, Cedie himself, Tom Taus.

We are all excited when she reappeared in the Philippine showbiz scene after being in the US for quite a long time. And now she will serve us with her acting and musicality which we missed of her for the past years. Welcome back, Antoinette!

Catch her in 9 Works Theatrical's rerun of Grease starting this November 15. - December 7, 2014 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza Makati City.

No reason to be grumpy this Christmas

Repertory Philippines cordially invites you to look at Christmas and get the feels of it with one of my favorite Christmas stories, Scrooge, which will open starting November 21 at Onstage Theater in Greenbelt 1, Makati City.
After the production that brings the young and the young at heart to honesty, Pinocchio, a new musical will brighten up the Christmas season.

Miguel Faustmann plays the businessman Ebenezer Scrooge who doesn't celebrate Christmas. Of course, you know all the story. He plays together with the wonderful cast from Repertory Philippines:

SCROOGE - Miguel Faustmann / Chinggoy Alonzo
Jacob Marley - Raul Montesa
Ghost of Christmas Past - Rachel Coates
Ghost of Christmas Present - Oliver Usison
Bob Cratchit - Chino Veguillas
Tiny Tim - Gabo Tiongson
Young Ebenezer - Arnel Carrion
Isabel - Christine Flores
Tom Jenkins - Steven Conde
Mr. Fezziwig - Alex Cortez
Mrs. Fezziwig - Sheila Francisco

Directed by Baby Barredo, the Christmas musical runs until December 14 with shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and matinee shows on Saturdays and Sundays at 3:30 p.m. Bring the whole family and celebrate and understand Christmas once more!

Broadway Musicals by request!

Concertus Manila just posted a teaser for all theater fans on what big Broadway musicale will come to Manila for another spectacular show. And this time, they are allowing us to choose which one will make it on Philippine stage:
The Tony Award-winning Pippin, Disney's Newsies the Musical and Once, are just three of the choices that gives us a hint and excitement for hopefully, this 2015. I've never seen Pippin but I'd like to see how it goes with all the Bob Fosse moves and matching performances like Cirque du Soleil.

Concertus Manila brings another Tony Award-winning musical, Chicago, which opens at The Theater at Solaire Resort and Casino starting December 3. A very nice Broadway Christmas in store for everyone.

What about you, what would be your choice of musical?
