i'm watching every The Conjuring trailer that i see and to know more about the story about this paranormal case, i came across a featurette about the investigators that experienced the horror and took into account. the Warrens, Ed and Lorraine, have documented these occurrences and we are to experience them into this movie, The Conjuring. the two have been tracking paranormal activities together since and trying to solve hauntings and stopping them. owners of the Warren Occult Museum that stands in Connecticut, USA.
following the story of the Perron family in a haunted farm house in Rhode Island by 1971, the Warrens narrate the experiences in the investigation and warns us of hauntings in different places. for me the movie itself would torment the weak. i don't know how am i going to prepare for this but faith would be my shield. below shows Lorraine Warren's interview about paranormal investigations that she had and centering on the thrilling story of the Perrons.
The Conjuring opens August 21 in theaters nationwide. directed by James Wan under Warner Bros. Pictures. starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as Lorraine and Ed Warren.

KICK-ASS 2 movie review

when Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Hit Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz) continue to fight criminals in the neighborhood, the two of them inspired other citizens to give justice to the oppressed by wearing their costumes and chase after evil-doers. but Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) is planning to give his revenge and inviting an army to a war between criminals and vigilantes.
in this movie, Kick-Ass is joined with more superhero vigilantes, Col. Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), Dr. Gravity, Night Bitch, Insect Man, Battle Guy and a couple finding justice for their lost son, in fighting crimes. on the Marvel and DC parallel universe, you'll notice Captain America, GI-Joe and other superheroes alike, less their mutant powers.
presentation of the comedy and action is in its brave language. language obscenity, cursing and violence make it in the sense that it is really so good. racism and bullying as many could have been experienced in real life. that's what makes it unadvisable for audience under 16. it was just at this movie that looks fit for young audiences but the gruesome scenes makes it suitable only for adults. you'll love it more than the first, i assure you.

KICK-ASS 2 is distributed by Solar Entertainment Corporation, opening August 14.

THE INTERNSHIP movie review

watch salesmen Nick (Owen Wilson) and Billy (Vince Vaughn) are out of job and they find themselves applying for an internship in the biggest search engine community, Google. in the presence of young minds, the two were outcasts and tagged as dinosaurs in the industry. left with a bunch of young people that cannot acknowledge their presence and skills, they had the chance to prove themselves in the field.
some notes to be presented in THE INTERNSHIP movie, aside from being a funny career movie, it was a dream changer for me as to pursue online career. what else to be loved at the Google office? creativity, app development, thinking community and most of all, FREE stuff! and the work place is at play. it also reminds us of the respect to any of your workmates at any instance. it also shows us to show our strength at any cost that will take us to fight any obstacle in front of us.

there are also a lot of work values demonstrated in the movie. like teamwork, friendliness and respect. though the interns go for a competitive-type of activities, each member were able to present their own skills and be able to raise them at any challenge.
i always find Vince's fluency at any movie he is in as if you can give in to his persuasion. presented in a funny way, you'll be hooked in his insistence of his ideals. he can make the audience buy tickets to this movie.

opening August 14, The Internship is presented by 20th Century Fox, directed by Shawn Levy. distributed by 20th Century Fox (Philippines)

EKSTRA goes mainstream this August 14

Star Cinema is proud to present the a movie that gives importance to every human being, may it be big or small. but in their context of show business, this film honors the little people that give deeper meaning of what we see on the big screen. EKSTRA (The Bit Player) will be showing in the mainstream cinemas nationwide starting August 14 2013.
the film, starred by the Star for All Seasons, Vilma Santos, plays the title role and happy to have bagged the major award in lead acting. awarded by the Cinemalaya jury of the recent-concluded Cinemalaya Festival at the CCP. among other awards are:

  • Audience Choice Award, Directors' Showcase: "Ekstra" by Jeffrey Jeturian
  • Best Screenplay - Zig Dulay, Antoinette Jadaone and Jeffrey Jeturian, "Ekstra"
  • Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role - Ruby Ruiz, "Ekstra"
  • Best Performance by a Lead Actress - Vilma Santos, "Ekstra"
  • Special Jury Prize - "Ekstra"
  • Netpac (Network for Promotion of Asian Cinema) Special Award - "Ekstra"
the movie was a bit challenging for all since as we've known Vilma Santos to portray lead roles, it was hard for them to make her on the level of the other bit players, de-glamorizing her into the role of Loida Malabanan. on the other hand, the bit players whom she worked with were even controlling themselves not to be starstruck with the presence of their Ate Vi. there are also some bit instances that they found the humility of Vilma Santos, a reason that everyone loves her, in front and at the back of the camera.
the movie teaches everyone, as quoting Vilma Santos, "to love what you do and do it good." it also serves as inspiration for everyone that every person around contributes in the being of an individual.

PERCY JACKSON: SEA OF MONSTERS movie review

and it was another adventure for Logan Lerman as the half-blood, son of Poseidon, Percy Jackson in the sequel "Sea of Monsters" that opens today in theaters.
Percy Jackson is off with Annabeth, Grover and a cyclops half-brother Tyson to find the Golden Fleece to save the protector that hides and keeps the Olympians from the human world. but in order to get that, they must go deep at the Bermuda Triangle or as they believe the Sea of Monsters. he also discovers more of his being as he fulfills his destiny of beating his evil great grandfather, a titan called Kronos, that will destroy all living things and devour gods.
i just had a great time watching this movie because of the story. it was at this movie that Logan Lerman grows. more at his older teens and now with more strength to show, being able to get more physical action in fighting his enemies. however, there should have been more focus on the editing. some scenes get drops of water at the camera which should have been omitted -- just to make it clean. but effects and all are good. i also just don't know if there's only one monster at sea, should had there been more instead of the big-mouthed creature? i also liked how the turning point to the sequel was presented. and how they made Percy feel fulfilled saving Thalia but uneasy of the consequences it may turn out.

all in all, it was a very interesting movie and it made me wonder how was it when i read the book. kudos to the director and producers, as well as the actors.

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters is a movie from 20th Century Fox, distributed by 20th Century Fox (Philippines).
