DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 1 is top grosser for the entire film series!

BURBANK, CA, March 9, 2011 – Warner Bros. Pictures’ Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 has become the highest grossing installment in the Harry Potter franchise in international markets. With just months to go before the release of the finale of the record-breaking film series based on the beloved books by J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 has earned a staggering $657.24 million and counting, soaring past the previous record-holder, 2001’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, which grossed $657 million. The announcement was made today by Veronika Kwan-Rubinek, President of International Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.

“It’s tremendously gratifying to reach this benchmark as we enter the final stretch of this remarkable journey,” said Jeff Robinov, President of Warner Bros. Pictures Group. “We share this achievement with Jo Rowling, whose books are the foundation of this rich and vibrant world, as well as the talented people who brought her vision to life on the screen.”

“We are also incredibly proud of our teams around the world who have brought a consistent level of excellence, passion and ingenuity to the campaigns for these films,” said Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing for Warner Bros. Pictures. “And, of course, we’re thrilled that longtime fans and new audiences alike have continued to champion each film, resulting in the huge success of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1.

Kwan-Rubinek added, “These numbers speak to the phenomenal and enduring strength of this property, which has captivated audiences across all borders, regardless of age or culture. We’re looking forward to releasing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 this summer, which will be a fitting way to bring to a close the movie event of a generation.”

With the success of its first six of seven titles, the Harry Potter series had already achieved the distinction of being the top-grossing film franchise of all time, with a combined worldwide gross of $6.37 billion. This benchmark for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1—which has earned $951.8 million worldwide—as well as the anticipation for Part 2, opening globally on July 15, 2011, should ensure its place in film history for years to come.

GABAY GURO: educators' well deserved perks!

My mom is retiring next year and i think that she really contributed well in the development of students. She teaches in the elementary department of St. Scholastica's Academy in Marikina and pupils look up to her as a fun teacher and most of the alumni even refer to her as a very understanding and lovable teacher. I think the way that she raised us is how she developed her students. She makes everything easy to understand. Mothers are often thankful with her teaching because their children receive high grades and performs well in school.

SENIOR YEAR movie review

most of us have went through the toughest times in high school. but we all also admit that even though we have the most difficult endeavors with the teachers and even classmates, we can say that we enjoyed that period in our lives.

that's what we can see in SENIOR YEAR - a movie by Jerrold Tarog. it features students in co-ed institution that undergo certain circumstances as an individual. in life, we experience pressure, encounter gossips, bullied, rotting relationships, love and sometimes, confusion. but as we are struggling, we find people who are there to support us, that know how to get out of it, resolve it and move on.

in every aspect, there is a certain attack and will make you realize that you've been in that part. you can certainly relate to what these children portray. actually, the acting is seamless and effortless. sometimes i see myself in the shoes of these kids. and then i realize that i survived high school and i laugh at the instances that i can relate to.

and 10 years after our graduation in high school, i am excited of how people come about with their lives. reunion might be not to far and there are a lot of things happened after that time.

the cast is composed of the students of a school in Alabang with the participation of professional actors like RJ Ledesma, Dimples Romana, LJ Reyes, Arnold Reyes, Che Ramos and Ina Feleo.

SENIOR YEAR starts screening in SM Cinemas nationwide on March 9. and teachers and students who will watch the movie can get a discount. just present your SCHOOL ID and pay only Php 100 in entrance.

Julie Walters (“Harry Potter” movies) and Richard Wilson (TV’s “Merlin”) give voice to the human feuding neighbors, Miss Montague and Mr. Capulet; Ozzy Osbourne portrays Tybalt’s sidekick, Fawn; Dolly Parton plays the country gnome Dolly who starts the mower race; and Hulk Hogan lends his voice to the unapologetic beast of a lawn mower, the Terrafirminator.

choose the best sunglasses

I am not a fan for fashion but I am not a total fashion disaster. Instead I go for the benefits when I buy stuff even on the web. When summer is fast approaching, I have a list of what things to bring and one of it is a pair of sunglasses.

There's a lot of killer sunglasses in the market but what do we really have to buy? As I've said that we should be more of the quality and functionality rather than indulging on luxury and expensive stuff. When I saw Shopwiki that talks about buying sunglasses, I read through all the points that should be considered in getting one.

Before I was just rushing and trying on cheap sunglasses but I never knew of the complications that would take effect. Thanks to Shopwiki, I should be more careful in buying stuff for my own.
