THE OTHER GUYS sneak peek

Columbia Pictures presents an all-star cast led by Mark Wahlberg, Will Ferrell, Eva Mendes, Ray Stevenson, Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne Johnson, in the action-comedy The Other Guys.

In the U.S. No. 1 hit, detectives Christopher Danson and P.K. Highsmith (Johnson and Jackson) are the baddest and most beloved cops around. They don’t get tattoos – other men get tattoos of them. Two desks over and one back, sit Detectives Allen Gamble (Ferrell) and Terry Hoitz (Wahlberg). You’ve seen them in the background of photos of Danson and Highsmith, out of focus and eyes closed. They’re not heroes – they’re "the Other Guys."

But every cop has his or her day and soon Gamble and Hoitz stumble into a seemingly innocuous case no other detective wants to touch that could turn into the city’s biggest crime. It’s the opportunity of their lives, but do these guys have the right stuff?

Director Adam McKay says that his challenge for this film was to keep the set as open and free to experimentation as he could, while also keeping it grounded enough that the action sequences made sense. "Obviously, we like to do silly, absurd things," says McKay. “The Other Guys is an action comedy, and I think it’s just as funny as the movies we’ve made in the past. But it’s also a bit more badass – we really tried to come up with action scenes we hadn’t seen before, and I think we came up with some fantastic stuff."

Opening soon across the Philippines, The Other Guys is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International. the gift that is XANADU - review

Atlantis Productions is staging XANADU - the Broadway musical hit that was based on Universal Pictures' film of the same title - with a comedy musical twist.

XANADU is the best gift in which Zeus grants to the demigods giving them glory. most gods and demigods wants Xanadu and that's why Clio (Rachel Alejandro), a muse, wished to get to earth to help mankind. but was forbidden of some things -- she never would disclose her identity as a demigod and never fall in love with a mortal.

on earth, she meets Sonny Malone (Felix Rivera) who is an artist and filled with dreams. Clio is willing to inspire him disguised as Kira, an Australian. but her jealous evil sisters, Melpomene and Calliope (Chari Arespacochaga and Yael Pineda) tried to cast a spell on Clio so that she'll be banished from Mount Olympus forever.

as Sonny Malone and Kira get to know each other, they are struck by love. Calliope and Melpomene's spell "worked" so they demanded Zeus (Noel Trinidad) to cast Clio into eternal damnation. Sonny Malone went to the rescue at Mt. Olympus and then Clio admitted everything -- even her love to him which has been true. when Zeus realized that it is true, he granted Clio the Xanadu gift.

laugh your hearts out to this musical comedy. it is a magical journey from Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California is unforgettable. as 1980 and Clash of the Titans merge in this production, there will be a lot of imagination. demigods are once people too, you may think.

you might actually be watching a live sitcom when you see Xanadu. the staging is great and audience would get participation too which is one of the funny parts. the musical is indeed wild and funny. you wouldn't want to miss a scene.

my favorite scene is when they sang "Suddenly." for a romantic song, Felix and Rachel knew to bring people to laugh. Rachel Alejandro is great modulating her voice.

Xanadu the musical by Atlantis Productions starts playing on September 3 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium at the RCBC Plaza. see ticket information here.

sneak peek at LIFE AS WE KNOW IT

Take a peek at the first theatrical poster of Warner Bros.’ upcoming romantic comedy “Life As We Know It”!

The one-sheet shows Katherine Heigl running after two “babies” -- the tagline “A comedy about taking it one step at a time” has never been more hilariously dead-on.

“Life as We Know It” is directed by Greg Berlanti (TV’s “Brothers & Sisters”) from a screenplay by first time feature writers Ian Deitchman & Kristin Rusk Robinson. The film stars Katherine Heigl (“The Ugly Truth,” “27 Dresses”), Josh Duhamel (the “Transformers” films, "When In Rome"), Josh Lucas (“Sweet Home Alabama”), Christina Hendricks (TV’s “Mad Men”), and Hayes MacArthur (“The Game Plan”).

The film is produced by Barry Josephson and Paul Brooks, with Denise DiNovi, Scott Niemeyer, Norm Waitt, Katherine Heigl, Nancy Heigl and Bruce Berman serving as executive producers.

The behind-the-scenes team includes director of photography Andrew Dunn (“Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire”), production designer Maher Ahmad (“Zombieland”), editor Jim Page (“Eagle Eye”), costume designer Debra McGuire (“Superbad,” “Knocked Up”) and composer Blake Neely (“The Wedding Date” and TV’s “Everwood”).

in AMERICA’S BANK ROBBERY CAPITAL

There are over 300 bank robberies in Boston every year. And a one-square-mile neighborhood in Boston, called Charlestown, has produced more bank and armored car robbers than anywhere in the U.S. It is against that backdrop that Warner Bros.’ new gripping thriller The Town is set.

In the film, Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck), is a prolific bank robber but he is not cut from the same cloth as his fellow thieves. Unlike them, Doug had a chance at success, a chance to escape following in his father’s criminal footsteps. Instead he became the leader of a crew of ruthless bank robbers, who pride themselves on taking what they want and getting out clean. The only family Doug has are his partners in crime, especially Jem (Jeremy Renner), who, despite his dangerous, hair-trigger temper, is the closest thing Doug ever had to a brother.

However, everything changed on the gang’s last job when Jem briefly took a hostage: bank manager Claire Keesey (Rebecca Hall). When they discover she lives in Charlestown, Jem gets nervous and wants to check out what she might have seen. Knowing what Jem is capable of, Doug takes charge. He seeks out Claire, who has no idea that their encounter is not by chance or that this charming stranger is one of the men who terrorized her only days before.

As his relationship with Claire deepens into a passionate romance, Doug wants out of this life and the town. But with the Feds, led by , closing in and Jem questioning his loyalty, Doug realizes that getting out will not be easy and, worse, may put Claire in the line of fire. Any choices he once had have boiled down to one: betray his friends or lose the woman he loves.

The Town also stars Blake Lively, Oscar® nominee Pete Postlethwaite and Academy Award® winner Chris Cooper.

Directed by Ben Affleck, The Town is based on the novel Prince of Thieves, written by Chuck Hogan. Hailing from Massachusetts, Hogan situated the crime drama in Charlestown for a reason: the Boston neighborhood has produced more bank and armored car robbers than any other single square mile in the world. The seeds of that distinction were more than likely planted when Charlestown was the site of a maximum security prison, leading to a self-perpetuating criminal enclave. Affleck offers, “It served as a kind of revolving door. People would go to prison and their families would move there, and, as they got out and then went back in, a community developed around it. It was hypothesized in the book—and we included it in the film—that robbing banks became a trade that was passed down from fathers to sons.”

Jeremy Renner, who plays the role of Doug’s accomplice and best friend, Jem, adds, “In that very small, tight-knit community, they developed a strict code of silence. Everybody knew everything, but nobody talked, which made it easier to be successful in that line of work.”

Opening soon across the Philippines, The Town is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

GOING THE DISTANCE movie review

what is it like when you are in a long distance relationship? Justin Long and Drew Barrymore shows it all but defeating all odds in Going the Distance from New Line Cinema.

the situations they're in is not different for a number of people. they have to experience the pain of being away from your love one to pursue a dream, a career or even to find one's self. it is each other's role to make the relationship work. in the movie, Garett (Justin Long) does the chasing to Erin (Drew Barrymore) who is pursuing her dreams through a career. but a whole country separates them from coast to coast, from New York to San Francisco.

for the short time that they knew each other, they made it sure that they treasure every moment. love really makes people go wild. but to see Justin Long and Drew Barrymore, with that chemistry, it almost seem real knowing that they've been together.

but Garett had given up the chasing when he knew that Erin will focus on her career. that would be a long-term separation from each other. up to the point that he went to look for another and Erin will just stop to cry. until they find themselves that they are still in love with each other and they decided to move in together. the usual story.

here are the tips that romanticists might want to use when they are experiencing the same thing:

1. always surprise your partner.
2. lots of "conversations" over the phone.
3. take risks
4. if you are so excited to see your partner, GET A ROOM PLEASE!
5. always see to it that no one is around when you do the hanky panky.
6. STATUE! LOL

if not for the other casts, the movie would be just on romance and drama. but the element helped to add a little light. dating couples can see this to accept any circumstance that might go their way in case they will go through long distance relationships

GOING THE DISTANCE opens on Sept. 2 across the Philippines from New Line Cinema, distributed by Warner Bros.
