Kada-kada Like A Panda at Davao’s 38th Kadayawan Festival

Online food and grocery platform foodpanda adds its trademark shade of pink to Davao’s colorful Kadayawan festival. The Kadayawan Festival is a celebration of gratitude for nature's offerings, the richness of culture, the abundance of harvest, and the peace of life, showcasing the 11 tribes of Davao. This year marks the 38th of the annual celebration and has the theme of “Colors of Abundance, Vibrance of Diversity, Festival of Festivals.”

During the Kadayawan Festival, foodpanda offered extraordinary experiences for its loyal app users as well as potential subscribers. They unveiled delightful surprises and engaging activities designed to enhance the festive atmosphere through their Kada-kada Like A Panda initiative.
Patricia Jacinto, foodpanda Philippines Growth & Marketing Director, expressed her enthusiasm to the company’s involvement in the week-long celebration. “foodpanda was thrilled to have immersed ourselves in the vibrant Kadayawan festivities. By actively participating in various Kadayawan events, we hope we were able to bring added joy and a slew of prizes to both the Dabawenyos and loyal app users.”

foodpanda also played a significant role in some of the festival's competitions. They served as a special judge in events such as Indak Indak, Hiyas ng Kadayawan, and Hudyaka sa Kadayawan. With this involvement, foodpanda awarded special prizes to individual or group contenders who showcased outstanding performances, further deepening its connection with the community and the festival's traditions. As an extended treat, Davao residents can also make use of this limited time offer: using the code KADAYAWAN, they can enjoy P120 off on food delivery, with a minimum order of P349 plus P100 off on pick-up until August 31, 2023.
Starting strong with the Kadayawan festivities, foodpanda partnered with local favorite Mamastill Atbp. for the "Paying It Forward Free Pastil" project held in the bustling Roxas Night Market. Pastil, a famous local delicacy, was given away to everyone who gives life to the night market, from the hardworking vendors, vigilant police officers, special task force members, and the tireless street sweepers. Enjoy a gastronomic video from Mamastill Atbp. here.

LG Electronics (LG) has once again been recognized for outstanding product design, earning 13 awards at the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) 2023, announced at the International Design Conference in New York, New York.

The LG PuriCare AeroTower, an air purifier that can also be used as a side table and mood lamp, was honored with a Bronze Award at yesterday’s conference. Offering personalized performance and design options, as well as a compact form factor, LG’s air purifier can be tailored to match any home interior and is ideal for smaller spaces. With its latest win, the LG PuriCare AeroTower has now been recognized by all three of the world’s top industrial design award programs: IDEA, the Red Dot Award and iF Design Award.

Another IDEA 2023 honoree, the LG OLED Flex (model LX3) is an innovative TV featuring the world’s first bendable 42-inch OLED screen. The LX3, which made its international debut at IFA last year, offers a new level of screen customizability – its self-lit display able to go from completely flat to spectacularly curved with the push of a button.

“The achievement from this year’s IDEA is the result of the synergy between customer experience-centered technology and aesthetics,” said Hwang Sung-gyul, head of the Design Management Center at LG Electronics. “We will continue to improve the level of perfection by reflecting innovative customer experiences beyond the existing framework in product design by constantly communicating and empathizing with customers.”

Organized annually by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), IDEA is one of the world’s leading design award programs, recognizing exceptional achievements in the area of industrial design while taking into consideration various factors relating to design strategy, digital interaction, the environment, and social impact, when selecting award recipients.
