CIRQUE DU SOLEIL: Worlds Away movie review

James Cameron brings a wonderful visual masterpiece featuring the world's favorite acrobatic act in Cirque du Soleil: Worlds Away. on March 6, 2013, capture the heart-pumping stunts and the magic of love in this wonderful movie.
the story is about Mia, a young woman who finds herself in a circus and entranced by an aerialist. an almost unfortunate event had separated them, the two were drawn into the magical world of Cirque du Soleil. in two tent worlds, the two witness different acts of Cirque du Soleil and their journey had drawn them back together.
as the movie is a visual masterpiece, you still wanted to see the real thing. the live show of acrobats are definitely more tasteful and exciting. as the movie was shot in a very dark studio, colors have appeared brighter and clearer. but knowing for James Cameron and his success for Avatar, the movie can stand in 2D rather than seeing it in 3D. i just hope they had treated it more with their movie magic. i think i miss some special effects.
Megaworld Lifestyle Malls brings this movie into their theaters exclusively starting March 6. check Lucky Chinatown, Newport Cinemas and Eastwood Cinemas.

TITANIC in 3D review

ok, so many people saw i than i did. but James Cameron's Titanic never fails to bring giggles and tears to everyone who sees it, especially now when it will be re-released in 3D. it will be in memoriam of the lives lost when the ship sank 100 years ago at the North Atlantic.
again, we immerse in the story of Rose Dewitt-Bukater (Gloria Stuart) who narrates back the experience when she saw the news that "The Heart of the Ocean" is missing from an expedition. of course we all know the story of Rose (Kate Winslet) and Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) who found love in this unfortunate ship. the modern Romeo and Juliet still deserves their title as the top-grossing couple of all time.
go sit in the theaters and the movie still captures the audience's feelings as if they are seeing it the first time. we are again inspired by Rose's story and how she describes the unsinkable ship like how she smells the fresh paint of the Titanic, the furnitures and even the people who wore the finest clothes at their time.

there might been almost unnoticeable additions in the 3D version. before i think it was a censored version especially this part.
Titanic is still recommended to be seen in theaters. watch it in 3D starting April 7 in theaters.

TITANIC 3D: wear your glasses

i admit! i saw the 2d version of Titanic around 5 times in the movie house and i don't even have a job then. and i stay in front of HBO watching the same movie over and over again and i am very proud of it. who wouldn't forget these lines:

"So this is the ship they say is unsinkable."
"Not even God can sink this ship."
"I want you to paint me wearing this. Wearing ONLY this."
"Promise me, you'll never give up, no matter how hopeless."
if you knew the people who said these lines, you're a certified Titanic fan. and i bet when you hear Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On, you will be able to fill in the dialogues at every gap. that's how i grew myself in the days when Titanic plays in the movie screen. you won't believe that it played around 3 months here in the Philippines back in 1997.
and so when James Cameron made this 3D version, it was very timely in the 100th anniversary of the tragedy but touched our hearts with the love story of Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Rose Dewitt-Bukater (Kate Winslet). but my favorite character there is the old Rose, played by Gloria Stuart.

so you're going to meet them again on digital 3D in cinemas on April 7 for a limited time. if tickets are available online, go reserve them now.

AVATAR movie review

from Titanic director, James Cameron, comes another titanic movie that not only provides great CGI effects but also great story that is very timely to the global issues we're experiencing today.

AVATAR is a story of ex-marine Jake Sully who has been assigned to do a diplomatic agreement to another world in a form of an avatar, a genetic combination of human and Na'vi genes controlled by human will. the Na'vis are residents of a distant planet, Pandora, which humans are trying to adapt into and get a special mineral for the sustenance of the race. despite the tranquil life of the Na'vis, the humans take over what they want by violent actions and thus the destruction of the Na'vis' home and race.

Jake Sully as an avatar has learned to adapt to the customs and living of the other Na'vis and also had a heart to them. realizing the destruction of the humans to Pandora, he also has learned to defend the peacefulness of the Na'vis.

AVATAR subliminally tackles the issues of racism and global warming. racism in a sense that we should be respectful of the customs and traditions of any group whether we consider ourselves more learned. global warming has also been addressed as whether why humans are trying to find another home invading another planet. the thought that if we should have done our job to protect our planet, we might have not been tearing others apart just for our own consumption.

this is a great movie and better seen on 3D. opens December 17 in the Philippines.

Avatar Sneak Peek

James Cameron comes back with another movie masterpiece with Avatar. this is not the regular Avatar which we see in Nickelodeon but this was conceived by the Titanic director 14 years ago. so don't mistake it with The Last Airbender.

a special sneak peek was delivered at the IMAX movie house in SM North EDSA for all movie buffs through special invites. with media partners like Magic 89.9, RX 93.1 and 99.5 RT, Avatar was indeed a great cinema experience on 3D.

catch the movie trailer on Youtube.

catch James Cameron's Avatar on 3D coming December 18th by 20th Century Fox and distributed by Warner Brothers.
