LG Showcases Its Latest Display Solutions Under the Theme of "Life, Be Bloomed" at ISE 2023

LG’s Advanced Display Innovations, including 8K Micro LED, Feature in Interactive Exhibit Along with Immersive Media Art and Digitalized Spaces for Diverse Industries

LG Electronics (LG) is presenting its cutting-edge digital signage solutions at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2023, which will be held in Barcelona, Spain today. The company’s full range of display solutions – including Micro LED displays, Transparent OLED Signage, and LED displays – is exhibited across a number of digitalized spaces demonstrating use cases and applications for different industries, including retail, corporate, education and hospitality.

Adopting the theme of Life, Be Bloomed for this year’s ISE, LG is presenting innovative display solutions that offer a world of possibilities and the power to make life better, each and every day. Visitors to the company’s booth will be able to experience solutions created to foster better business communications, solutions that deliver clear visibility and integrate seamlessly in various commercial environments, and solutions that can convey the emotion and dynamism of stunning digital artworks in a whole new way.

The massive 272-inch LG MAGNIT 8K Micro LED (model LSAB007) is making its debut at ISE with a truly jaw-dropping display – both in scale and in picture quality. The enormous Micro LED leverages millions of self-emissive micrometer-scale pixels to create images of exceptional vibrancy and depth, while its 8K resolution (7,680 x 4,320) delivers razor-sharp detail.

LG MAGNIT 8K offers impressive color consistency and a wide viewing angle. This remarkable display solution will mesmerize visitors to the company’s booth, enthralling them with exclusive 8K footage that captures the beauty and majesty of the natural world. With its huge size and superb picture quality, LG MAGNIT is an excellent solution for showcasing media art in public spaces, and for use in building control rooms, boardrooms, and corporate and hotel lobbies.

Another spectacular sight for visitors, LG’s 8K Micro LED synchronizes with 56 Transparent OLED Signage (model 55EW5G-V) displays, covering both sides of the LG exhibition hall’s entrance, to create an incredibly immersive media art experience. The captivating display setup transports visitors into a world of color and wonder – a world brought to life by the company’s cutting-edge display technologies.

At ISE 2023, LG is also showcasing its solutions for virtual production studios for the very first time. A virtual production studio allows content creators to shoot live-action footage against a fully digital backdrop, which is made by displaying virtual scenery on a series of seamlessly connected LED screens. LG and its professional partners, including Mo-Sys and ARRI, , will be showing visitors how a virtual production studio works – and how it can be used for entertainment applications, such as film and TV, and for corporate in-house broadcasting – and introducing LG’s LED displays and related solutions.
At the center of LG’s booth is the eye-catching Floating CUBE LED, an LED sculpture that creatively combines four 2K LED displays (model LSCB012). Based on Tensegrity, a structural principle of tensional integrity, the CUBE presents strikingly three-dimensional anamorphic digital art that moves and flows across the displays’ surfaces. LG’s fine-pitch LED displays provide lifelike picture quality, while the seamless 90-degree corner design of the CUBE installation enhances the sense that one is looking at real, 3D objects inside an actual, physical space.
Additionally, LG is introducing its new digital learning solution, LG CreateBoard (model TR3DK), at ISE 2023. An Interactive Digital Board designed to engage, inform and inspire students, and encourage greater collaboration, the new model provides LG CreateBoard Lab for content creating and writing, and LG CreateBoard Share for wireless content and screen sharing. Also on show is LG ConnectedCare DMS, a cloud-based device management solution for schools and other learning environments that enables the remote management of multiple displays.

As part of its comprehensive exhibit, LG is presenting convenient cloud-based management solutions tailored to the needs of diverse industries; including retail, corporate, education, and hospitality. LG Pro:Cloud is a cloud platform for accessing LG’s content management solutions (CMS), including Pro:Centric Cloud (hospitality) and SuperSign Cloud, while LG ConnectedCare is a remote management solution that makes it possible to monitor signages, check energy usage and adjust display brightness via the integrated Energy Dashboard.

Also on full display at ISE 2023 is LG’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. Embracing the company’s ‘Better Life for All’ vision, the latest B2B solutions from LG offer energy efficiency, reduced resource consumption, increased recyclability and enhanced accessibility.2 In the ESG zone, visitors can explore innovations such as cloud-based smart energy management solutions that help to reduce power consumption and 4K UHD signage (model UL3J-EP), featuring components partially made from recycled plastic, and check out the LG Kiosk, which promotes digital inclusion with a tactile keypad for the visually impaired.

“At ISE 2023, LG is demonstrating how its display solutions can add value in practically any commercial sector, or area of your life, you care to name,” said Paik Ki-mun, senior vice president and head of the Information Display business unit of LG Electronics Business Solutions Company. “Far more than just screens for presenting content, our display solutions can help you connect, create, communicate and collaborate – expanding and digitalizing your daily experience in a host of convenient, new ways.”

I WANNA DANCE WITH SOMEBODY movie review

For our first movie of the year, it's nothing but the biopic of one of the greatest voices in entertainment -- I Wanna Dance Somebody,  a movie about the life of the one and only Whitney Houston is already playing in cinemas. It could have been in theaters last Christmas but we have to give way to our local film festival.
Entering the cinema for the first time this year gives lot of chills especially if you're really in for an exciting movie. We've been waiting for IWDWS since the first trailer was released last October. From the writers of Bohemian Rhapsody, you can also watch out for a great show. The theater lobby of TriNoMa cinema 7 during the premiere last Thursday booms with Whitney's iconic songs and you really can't stop yourself from singing along.
IWDWS reveals lots about the life of Whitney Houston (Naomi Ackie). Nippy as she's called was pushed by her mother Cissy Houston (Tamara Tunie) leading to a fruitful partnership with her good friend Clive Davis (Stanley Tucci). You'll admire Whitney's talent in making her songs bigger than the demos, delivering her amazing voice to the waves.  She also relates her songs to her experiences, women empowerment, and family. It's great to know the story behind each song and appreciate it to the core.

Whitney's life is not all fame and glamour. The movie takes you to her journey and relate to her. Her ups are glorious and downs drop to the lowest. You'll love her friends who wished her success and hate the people that brought her down. Bobby Brown and her dad were two different antagonists on her life and influences, at least she learned to fight and get up again. But old habits are hard to stop.
There are 22 songs that are featured in the movie, and you will ask to grab a mic like how you've seen Bohemian Rhapsody. Though some of the songs didn't finish all throughout, at least they were included in the list.

Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody is now playing in theaters, directed by Kasi Lemmons from Columbia Pictures.

LG Showcases Seamless Smart Home Experience With Home Connectivity Alliance at CES 2023

Implementing HCA 1.0 Guidelines, Company’s Smart Lifestyle Solutions Deliver
More Convenience and a Better Life at Home

LG Electronics (LG), a board member of the Home Connectivity Alliance (HCA), will showcase a seamless smart home experience at CES 2023. Along with other HCA member companies, LG will demonstrate the interoperability enabled under the new HCA Specification 1.0, whereby smart home solutions from different brands work together seamlessly to deliver true connected convenience in the home.

Inside HCA’s booth at CES, LG will be exhibiting its latest smart home appliances – including the refrigerator with MoodUP, WashTower laundry solution, ARTCOOL Gallery air conditioner and PuriCare AeroTower – together with those from other alliance members. Visitors will be able to see the realization of HCA’s “Any app to any device” vision, which presents users with the ability to manage each brand’s products via each brand’s smart control app, such as LG’s intuitive ThinQ app. This new level of interoperability is currently supported by HCA member companies including LG.

Utilizing existing industry standards to define Cloud-to-Cloud (C2C) interoperability guidelines, the new HCA Specification 1.0 has been established to ensure that home appliances, TVs and HVAC systems can interoperate seamlessly with one another, irrespective of brand. In addition to newly-launched models, consumers can continue using the smart home appliances and HVAC solutions that they already own and are covered by HCA Specification 1.0, without having to install any major firmware updates.

Furthermore, HCA Specification 1.0 will help member companies to make the smart home more sustainable in the future, leveraging data collected from across alliance members’ appliances to gain usage insight and improve energy management.

“As a member of HCA, LG is contributing to the realization of a safe, secure and interoperable connected home ecosystem,” said Lyu Jae-cheol, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company. “Through collaboration and open innovation, we will continue to provide consumers with solutions for a smarter, more convenient way of living.”

Visitors to HCA’s booth (#52739, Smart Home Hall, The Venetian Expo) at CES 2023 from January 5-8 in Las Vegas can experience the interoperability of HCA member companies’ latest smart home solutions.

LG to Introduce Versatile Cleaning Solution, CordZero A9 Kompressor with Steam Power Mop

On Show at CES, LG’s First Stick Vacuum with Steam Power Mop Nozzle Provides Wet and Steam Mopping, Comes with Convenient ‘All-in-One Tower’ Docking Station

LG Electronics (LG) is introducing its new CordZero A9 Kompressor™ with Steam Power Mop at CES 2023. Winner of a CES 2023 Innovation Award, the new model is the company’s first cordless stick vacuum cleaner to offer steam mopping functionality. The CordZero A9 Kompressor also comes with the innovative All-in-One Tower docking station, designed to store, recharge and automatically empty the vacuum.
Equipped with the detachable Steam Power Mop nozzle, LG’s latest CordZero provides wet and steam mopping functionality; delivering a convenient, effective mopping performance that gets surfaces clean without using any detergent. In steam mopping, the mop pads are kept at a temperature of approximately 60 degrees Celsius (140 degrees Fahrenheit), enabling the CordZero A9 Kompressor to remove stains from flooring more easily than a conventional wet mopping solution. According to Intertek, the global testing and certification organization, LG’s steam-heated mop pads are more effective than a typical wet mop at separating substances, such as hardened chocolate, from the floor.1

The Steam Power Mop nozzle also comes with dual sensors, which help prevent the attachment’s steam generator from overheating, as well as an advanced, automatic water supply system that keeps the mop pads wet during mopping. For user safety, if the nozzle is lifted off the floor or is held stationary for a period of approximately 20 seconds, the steam supply shuts off, while mop pad rotation is halted after around one minute of inactivity.2 LG’s new cordless stick vacuum also incorporates the company’s Axial Turbo Cyclone™ technology, which helps remove dust and debris from floors and other household surfaces by generating powerful suction.

Accompanying the CordZero A9 Kompressor with Steam Power Mop is an All-in-One Tower. LG’s space-efficient and fast-charging docking station features a replaceable dust bag, an automated dustbin-emptying system and an intuitive display that provides real-time status updates. LG’s All-in-One Tower also offers three different alert/notification melodies to choose from and hassle-free storage for CordZero vacuum accessories.

“Our new CordZero A9 Kompressor with Steam Power Mop is a truly versatile cleaning solution, allowing users to clean any surface in the home thanks to its effective vacuuming and wet and dry mopping performance,” said Lyu Jae-cheol, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company. “LG will continue to offer innovative home appliances and cleaning devices for a healthier home and a better life.”

Visitors to LG’s booth (#15501, Las Vegas Convention Center) at CES 2023 from January 5-8 in Las Vegas can explore all of the company’s latest home appliance innovations, including its new CordZero stick vacuum with Steam Power Mop and All-in-One Tower.

LG’s 2023 soundbars and LG TVs offer more synergy for outstanding multi-surround sound solution, allowing listeners to enjoy Dolby Atmos and IMAX enhanced quality powered by DTS:X.

The company’s premium home entertainment audio solutions also bring the intuitive interface to the Home Dashboard on LG TV, enabling users to easily manage their soundbar’s settings and share sound modes with the TV 2. What’s more, WOWCAST allows the 2023 soundbar models to connect wirelessly with LG TVs, providing cable-free convenience and a tidier look in the living room without any sacrifice to audio quality.
In addition to an expanded feature set and greater ease-of-use, the new soundbars boast a sophisticated design that complements the minimalist look of LG’s latest TVs, and fits in flawlessly with a wide variety of décors. A new bracket3 enables users to place their LG Soundbar directly below LG TVs, creating a visually harmonious and premium style. The bracket, which attaches to the rear of a compatible LG TV, can be used to wall-mount or stand-mount the new soundbars at a height/location that ensures the best sound experience for users. The convenient bracket helps to keep the viewing environment free from cable clutter, and saves users the hassle of having to drill holes in the wall.

The 2023 soundbars deliver accurate sound reproduction and enhanced clarity for a more complete home cinema experience with LG’s Triple Sound Technology, which includes the world’s first Triple Up-Firing Speaker. New for this year, Triple Level Spatial Sound Technology employs channel analysis performed by an HRTF-based 3D engine to add a virtual mid-layer. The result is incredibly lifelike sound with a convincing sense of space that puts listeners at the center of an immersive audio environment.

Users will also be able to hear the difference made by LG’s Triple Sound Optimizer – a feature that intelligently boosts the new soundbars’ performance – and enjoy upgraded sound via the Smart Up-mixer, which converts two-channel audio into stunning, multi-channel surround. Tailoring audio output to the user’s space, LG’s enhanced AI Room Calibration analyzes the circumstance of the room, then applies that information to the soundbars’ settings to deliver greater precision in the low-frequency range. It also subdivides the front channel frequencies to help improve overall balance, the clarity of vocal performances, movie dialogue, and the accuracy of the sound image.

What’s more, the new models incorporate LG’s advanced AI Sound Pro feature. Ensuring outstanding sound for any type of content, whether it is movies, sporting events, games or music, AI Sound Pro analyzes audio signal and automatically applies the most appropriate settings.
Catering to the diverse home entertainment needs of today’s consumers, LG’s new soundbars are compatible with a wide range of services, devices, and connectivity features. Users can enjoy lossless playback with stunning audio quality when listening to their favorite artists and tunes on music streaming services such as Tidal Connect with high-fidelity sound.

Superb sound solutions for those seeking to take their console gaming experience to the next level, LG’s latest soundbars support VRR to reduce screen tearing, and ALLM to eliminate lag while also permitting 4K/120Hz pass-through.

One of the new soundbars LG will be showcasing at CES 2023, the SE6 has a compact form factor that is ideal for smaller spaces, and a sleek, modern design that works well with virtually any interior style. Despite being the most diminutive of LG’s soundbar lineup, the chic, new model packs four passive radiators that help provide excellent sound with powerful bass. The SE6 also supports Dolby Atmos for cinematic audio that brings content to life.

LG’s 2023 soundbars will be on show during CES 2023 from January 5-8 at the company’s booth (#15501, Central Hall, Las Vegas Convention Center). Keep up with all of LG’s exciting announcements at CES by following #LGCES2023 on social media.

LG Announces Global Launch of Revolutionary LG 'ThinQ Up' Appliances

Delivering an Uplifting Customer Experience, LG’s New Home Appliances Can be Upgraded with New Features Tailored to Different Needs and Lifestyles

LG Electronics (LG) has announced the global launch of its LG ThinQ™ UP upgradeable home appliances including refrigerators, washers, dryers, oven ranges, and dishwashers. Able to adapt to the unique needs and changing lifestyles of each customer, LG’s appliances enable users to enjoy new features and functions without having to make any additional purchases. Launched in South Korea in January, 2022, LG ThinQ UP will begin rolling out internationally starting from March, 2023, in the U.S., with availability in other key markets to follow.
Built around the customer-centric concept of Evolving with You, LG ThinQ UP appliances can incorporate new features throughout their life – providing more value to users, over time. LG will continuously develop easy-to-install software updates and hardware add-ons, delivering specialized options and new conveniences based on the usage patterns and suggestions of ThinQ UP appliance owners.

One of the custom features available to download in 2023, Laundry Saver Mode can be applied to dryer models with ThinQ UP. Extremely useful for those times when you can’t unload the dryer right away, Laundry Saver keeps the drum tumbling after the cycle has finished (and until the dryer door is opened) to help prevent wrinkles and odors. Another feature on offer is Improved Nighttime Brightness Control for refrigerators with ThinQ UP, which makes the fridges’ interior lighting softer at nighttime so as not to ‘blind’ users when they open the door. All new software features are optional, and can be easily downloaded from the LG ThinQ app.
“A new paradigm in the home appliance industry, LG ThinQ UP is an innovative, new solution that delivers unprecedented customer value and differentiated user experiences,” said Lyu Jae-cheol, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company. “We will continue to offer sophisticated lifestyle solutions that provide personalized performance, convenient features and customizable upgradability.”

LG’S New OLED TV with Zero Connect Technology Redefines Freedom to Design Your Space

A Stunning Achievement, the Larger-Than-Life 97-inch OLED TV Comes With Real Time Video and Audio Wireless Transmission up to 4K 120Hz

LG Electronics (LG) is introducing its 97-inch LG SIGNATURE OLED M (model M3), the world’s first consumer TV with Zero Connect technology, a wireless solution capable of real-time video and audio transmission at up to 4K 120Hz. The revolutionary new OLED TV M3 delivers superior picture and sound quality as well as greater flexibility to install and connect. A stunning achievement of technology and design, LG’s wireless 4K OLED is the recipient of CES 2023 Innovation Awards in two categories.
Unlike conventional TVs, where all input ports for connecting external devices are located on the rear or sides, the M3 comes with a separate Zero Connect box that sends video and audio signals wirelessly to LG’s cinematic, 97-inch screen. Because it can be placed away from the TV, the Zero Connect box helps to create a cleaner, distraction-free viewing environment and gives users greater freedom to arrange their space. The box comes with multiple ports for plugging in commonly used HDMI devices, such as cable/satellite set-top boxes and gaming consoles and can also connect wirelessly with compatible soundbars for richer, more powerful audio and additional cable-free convenience. Along with offering users more freedom when curating their space, the M3 and its Zero Connect box allows users to easily install the new LG OLED TV without entangled cables. What’s more, without any wires to disturb users from enjoying their viewing experiences, the sleek minimalism of the 97-inch TV’s One Wall Design becomes even more breathtaking to behold.
LG’s wireless solution leverages state-of-the-art technologies to provide reliable video and audio transmission to the M3’s self-lit OLED screen, allowing users to enjoy content at 4K 120Hz and clear, crisp sound without interruption or degradation of quality. To ensure the seamless transfer of data from the box to the TV, the company developed an algorithm that instantly identifies the optimal transmission path. The algorithm also helps to minimize transmission errors or disruptions as it can recognize changes in the immediate environment – such as people or pets moving around the room – and switch paths accordingly. Additionally, for maximum signal strength, the box’s antenna can be easily rotated and/or tilted to align with the TV’s location. For maximum usability, the Zero Connect box is voice recognition-enabled, meaning users can turn on and manage the M3 and connected devices using simple, spoken commands.
Despite the imposing size of its screen, the M3 blends in effortlessly with one’s interior décor courtesy of its understated One Wall Design. The M3 and its integrated bracket sit flush against the wall with no visible gap, presenting a chic, art gallery aesthetic that augments the TV’s outstanding self-lit picture quality.

LG’s cutting-edge 4K OLED TV with Zero Connect wireless solution will be on show during CES 2023 from January 5-8 at the company’s booth (#15501, Central Hall, Las Vegas Convention Center). Keep up with all of LG’s exciting announcements at CES by following #LGCES2023 on social media.

LG Electronics (LG) today held its press conference, LG World Premiere, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Under the theme of Life’s Good, CEO William Cho shared the company’s continuous efforts to create innovation for a better life and ensure a sustainable future for all.
LG CEO William Cho

Affirming the company’s commitment to take on new challenges despite any uncertainties, Cho opened the show by stressing that LG has known and truly believed that the answer is always with the customer. “The start and end of all innovation are our customers, and it is with this innovation that we aim to put a smile on their faces,” continued CEO Cho.

Customer-Centered Innovations for a Better Life
CEO Cho highlighted LG’s commitment to providing new value to its customers through the introduction of groundbreaking innovations, such as LG OLED, which has changed customers’ viewing experience completely. Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, LG OLED continues to set the industry standard for picture quality and unprecedented customer experiences. To further expand the customer experience and enable TV users to redefine the viewing experience, the company is actively working with partners to introduce various new interactive services through LG TVs, including the online educational platform MasterClass, workout app MaxPro and metaverse service Sansar.

CEO Cho shed light on the mobility sector, where, after much hard work, the company has established itself as one of the auto industry’s preferred innovation partners with its vehicle component solution business. LG has joined hands with some of the world’s most-recognizable auto brands, leveraging its customer insight from consumer electronics, advanced technologies and diverse areas of expertise to drive the in-vehicle experience forward.
Additionally, Mr. Cho also spoke about LG ThinQ UP, a new category of ‘evolving’ home appliances offering unique upgradeability and personalization options. The premium lineup includes revolutionary products like LG refrigerator with MoodUP™, which can change color to suit users’ tastes, mood or kitchen décor.

Future Businesses to Expand the Customer Experience
CEO Cho then underlined the company’s aim to provide ‘First’, ‘Unique’ and ‘New’ experiences across all its products and solutions in order to provide a better life for all. To expand the customer experience in more various fields, the company is also operating various in-house programs to foster innovators, encouraging LG employees to bravely adapt to new challenges.

At CES, LG unveiled some products developed under the LG Labs, the company’s new project that encompasses products, services and marketing activities based on experimental ideas and creative concepts from both inside and outside the company; ‘Hover Gym’, a fitness solution utilizing motor control technology that allows users to exercise without separate dumbbells; ‘excicle’, a home workout solution delivering an exceptional indoor cycling experience; ‘brid.zzz’, an optimal sleep care solution that senses brain waves to create beats that help users relax; and ‘pluspot’, a service platform that provides rewards when personal transportation devices such as electric bicycles and electric kickboards are mounted on its wireless charging stations.

LG is broadening its business portfolio to encompass new areas such as electric vehicle (EV) charging, digital health and content services for the webOS platform. At the same time, the company is increasing investment in core ‘future’ technologies, including AI and 6G, as well as collaborating with startups through LG NOVA (LG North American Innovation Center).
The CEO also highlighted the company’s continuous efforts for strategic partnerships with global leaders from a wide range of industries. Especially in the content industry, the company has worked closely with many valued partners to secure more content that customers can enjoy.

At the conference, Cho introduced one of LG’s key partners in content services – Tom Ryan, President and CEO of Paramount Streaming. Mr. Ryan made an appearance to highlight the combined efforts by the two companies to offer an incredible experience to tens of millions of customers worldwide. “Pluto TV, the leading free streaming television service, is expanding our channel integration for LG Channels, adding over 100 channels this quarter globally,” said CEO Tom Ryan. Mr. Ryan concluded by stating that the two companies will continue to expand their partnership and broaden their capabilities together in 2023.

A Pledge to Create a Better Future
Concluding his presentation, Cho reiterated LG’s steadfast commitment as a responsible corporate citizen to realize a sustainable future, emphasizing the company’s focus to create a better future for all. Efforts include the Global IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities (GITC) which, since 2011, has empowered more than 4,000 youth to build skills in technology with the goal to eliminate the digital divide for persons with disabilities.

The CEO also mentioned the company’s promise to increase the accessibility of LG’s products and services to ensure easy use by the disabled and elderly. Guided by feedback from LG’s ‘Disabled Advisory Group’ – in operation since 2021 and comprised of members with varying abilities and accessibility experts – the company is continuously introducing barrier-free products that can be conveniently used by all. In South Korea, the company has various measures in place to strengthen accessibility, such as developing product manuals that incorporate audio and sign language guides, distributing braille stickers for appliances and operating sign language counseling centers.

Aligned with this, the CEO announced the four finalists of the inaugural LIFE’S GOOD AWARD, an innovation challenge set up by the company to promote its Life’s Good vision and empower innovators eager to make a positive impact on people’s lives and the planet. The finalists – Day1Lab, Dot Inc., NONA Desalination and SOLUTUM – will receive LG’s support to help fine tune and launch their inventive solutions to create a better life for all. After the four teams pitch their ideas for a final time on January 16 at LG Sciencepark in Seoul, Korea, a total prize money of USD 1.05 million will be differentially divided amongst the four winners, according to award ranking.

Taking a ‘back to basics’ approach, the new range focuses on the essence of each appliance, removing all unnecessary design elements to deliver a timeless, minimalist aesthetic. LG CEO William Cho Shares Focus for the Future

In Year-End Address to Employees, CEO Stresses Shift to Future-Ready
Business Structure to Create New Value Recognized by Customers
LG Electronics’ (LG) CEO William Cho outlined the company’s areas of focus for the future, building on the “successful changes” and “winning growth” of the past year, at his year-end address. The livestreamed discussion gave Cho the opportunity to connect with LG employees and communicate four strategic areas the company will focus on in 2023 to reshape into a future-oriented business structure.

To begin, Cho highlighted the importance of advancing LG’s business portfolio. “To increase corporate value, we need to accelerate qualitative growth and secure growth engines in areas with high potential,” Cho noted. “We will focus on maximizing the capabilities of existing businesses to strengthen the competitiveness of our core business while also rapidly fostering strategic businesses for the future.”

The CEO then continued by emphasizing the need to establish a customer-centered business operating system. “We need to produce tangible results through innovation that combines the customer experience and digital transformation,” Cho continued. “To strengthen our customer-centered mindset and improve the way we work, we aim to achieve innovative customer experiences that exceed expectations by setting clear mid- to long-term goals and roadmaps.”

Next, Cho cited the strengthening of the company’s future preparation capabilities. “We need to secure future technologies and strengthen software competitiveness through R&D, increase brand value as well as improve brand reputation, especially among the younger generation,” said Cho. “We also need to foster online businesses and intensify digital marketing to expand into the e-commerce business.”

He also noted uncertainties surrounding the business environment. To fundamentally reshape LG’s competitive edge and improve operational efficiency with the ability to preemptively respond to changes in business environment, the company recently organized a special taskforce. “We expect these measures will allow us to build a healthier corporate structure, enabling the company to constantly produce positive results and create new customer value by securing long-term competitiveness in terms of business advancement,” said Cho.

Cho asked everyone tuning in to consider what – and who – defines LG Electronics as a company. “Each and every one of us at LG is a ‘Value Creator’ for our customers. My hope is that everyone truly appreciates our customers and contemplates how we can provide them with more and better values by meeting, listening to and becoming them,” he continued. “It is because we know that the answer always lies with our customers that we keep looking deeper into their lives and gathering insights to deliver first, unique and new customer experiences.”

Cho ended his talk by reminding everyone at LG that the future will be determined by the way we think and act now, which is, ultimately, to prepare for the future. “We need to courageously go through the trials and difficulties that we inevitably encounter in our individual challenges with an optimistic attitude and positive mindset that we can definitely succeed, as we have done so far,” Cho concluded.

LG’S 2023 OLED TVs Take Viewing Immersion and User Experience to New Heights

With LG’s Latest TV Technology, Updated webOS and
Enhanced Personalization Features, New LG OLED evo is Ready to Impress

LG Electronics (LG) unveiled its 2023 TV lineups, headlined by its most advanced range of OLED TVs yet. With premium self-lit picture quality, powerful image processing technologies, and an enhanced webOS platform offering even more smart features and services, the company’s latest OLED TVs elevate the viewing experience as only LG OLED can.
A decade after introducing the world to the first-ever large screen OLED TV, LG continues to lead the premium TV market. The company’s cutting-edge OLED TVs have been recognized at the CES Innovation Award for 11 years in a row, and have kept evolving over time to deliver ever-greater value to consumers. LG OLED is renowned for its exceptional picture quality, producing vibrant, accurate colors with deep blacks, and an infinite contrast ratio for images that are remarkably lifelike.
In addition to realizing more immersive viewing experiences, LG’s self-lit technology has enabled the company to create unprecedented, visually-stunning TV form factors, including market-firsts such as the rollable LG SIGNATURE OLED R, and the bendable LG OLED Flex. A double honoree at the CES 2023 Innovation Award, LG OLED Flex won Best of Innovation in the Gaming category.

Spearheading LG’s 2023 OLED lineup are the latest Z3, G3 and C3 OLED evo series TVs. These upgraded, new models provide higher brightness and color accuracy as well as amazing clarity and detail thanks to the precision and performance of LG OLED evo technology and the new α9 AI Processor Gen6.

The latest Alpha series processor utilizes LG’s most sophisticated AI-assisted Deep Learning tech to ensure outstanding picture and sound quality. AI Picture Pro now offers improved upscaling for better clarity, and enhanced dynamic tone mapping, which helps reveal the depth and detail in every frame. AI Picture Pro also integrates a picture processing technology that detects and refines important objects, such as people’s faces, to give them a more lifelike HDR quality. In addition to fine-tuning image reproduction, the α9 AI Processor Gen6 powers LG’s AI Sound Pro; a feature that helps viewers get swept up in the onscreen action by delivering virtual 9.1.2 surround sound from the TVs’ built-in speaker system.

Another significant upgrade applied to this year’s OLED evo G3 series is LG’s Brightness Booster Max technology, which incorporates brand-new light control architecture and light-boosting algorithms to increase brightness by up to 70 percent.1 Brightness is mapped and controlled on a pixel-by-pixel basis, resulting in sharper, more realistic images.
LG’s 2023 G3 OLED evo models also boast an aesthetic upgrade via the introduction of the ultra-seamless One Wall Design.2 Leaving no visible gap when wall mounted, this year’s models bring style and effortless elegance to the living room.

Also, LG continues to leverage its technological leadership not just to create products and services for a better life. 2023 LG OLED TVs are designed to be kinder to the environment, from production all the way through to disposal creating sustainable cycles. LG OLED TVs have no backlighting unit, meaning each TV requires fewer materials to produce than a conventional LED TV. They also employ many components made from recycled plastics, and are even shipped in eco-packaging made from recyclable materials and featuring single-color printing. Easier on viewers’ eyes, all of LG’s 2023 model OLED TVs have been certified low blue light by TÜV Rheinland, and flicker-free by UL Solutions.

LG OLED is also introducing a refreshed, more personalized user experience in 2023. Featuring the latest version of webOS, this year’s models present All New Home, a redesigned user interface (UI) that offers a wealth of personalization options and more convenience than ever. The new ‘Quick Cards’ offer users easy access to the content and services they use the most – all grouped into logical categories such as Home Office, Gaming, Music, and Sports. LG’s more advanced webOS makes it easy for everyone using the TV to enjoy personalized recommendations tailored to their own preferences which are determined based on viewing history and viewing habits.

Furthering the personalized user experience on LG OLED TV is AI Concierge, which provides each user with a curated list of content choices based on their past usage and search inquiries, and provides a selection of trending content for them to browse.

Designed for first-class home cinema experiences, LG OLED TVs continue to support the image- and audio-enhancing capabilities of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. What’s more, this year’s LG TVs offer seamless integration with the latest LG soundbars, delivering outstanding multi-channel surround sound with IMAX enhanced quality powered by DTS:X. LG TV and soundbar also combine to offer the WOW Orchestra3 feature, which takes advantage of both products’ audio channels to produce stronger, more immersive sound.

As one would expect, LG’s 2023 OLED models support a wide range of features compliant to HDMI 2.1a. They are also the first TV sets to be certified by the HDMI organization for the recently announced Quick Media Switching VRR (QMS-VRR). QMS-VRR can eliminate the momentary ‘black screen’ that sometimes occurs when switching between content played from different source devices connected via the TV’s HDMI 2.1a compliant ports.

The ultimate gaming displays, LG’s self-lit OLED TVs boast a 0.1 millisecond response time, low input lag, up to four HDMI2.1a compliant ports. LG OLED TVs are also equipped with the Game Optimizer, allowing users to quickly select and switch between gaming-specific features, such as game-genre display presets. Settings for G-SYNC® Compatible, FreeSync™ Premium and variable refresh rate (VRR) are easily accessible from the Game Optimizer as well.

LG’s state-of-the-art 2023 OLED TVs will be on show during CES 2023 from January 5-8 at the company’s booth (#15501, Central Hall, Las Vegas Convention Center). Keep up with all of LG’s exciting announcements at CES by following #LGCES2023 on social media.
