Resorts World presents The Sound of Music

For those who grew up with Julie Andrews' "Do-Re-Mi" and definitely sings their heart out in nature with "The hills are alive with the sound of music," Resorts World presents this classic on stage with definitely Filipino crafting. The Sound of Music is set to capture our hearts starting October 15 2011 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater. Featuring our very own Joanna Ampil and Cris Villonco alternating Maria, Audie Gemora, Ed Feist and Jon Joven alternating Capt. Von Trapp. Joined by equally talented cast and directed by Roxanne Lapuz.

The Sound of Music is a story of Maria who was expelled from a convent and then worked as a nanny in a prominent country in Austria. She finds her purpose teaching and taking care of the Von Trapp children, valuing family and protecting it from the Nazi regime. Set in the 1930s-1940s, Maria is also portrayed by Julie Andrews in the 1965 movie.

Something different, the largest LED screen in Southeast Asia was utilized in enhancing the set through video. Thanks to the creativity of director Paul Soriano and Mio Infante -- geniuses of today's entertainment for the Filipino people. And even if this is a foreign piece, Resorts World has made it sure that this was developed by 100% Filipino artistry.

Remember the songs, the characters and the values addressed in this musical. Watch it in the Newport Performing Arts Theater starting October 15 2011. Also, you can find Resorts World staircases designed with The Sound of Music steps where you can take your photo op.
