Uncharted gets release date on February 23

We can't get enough of Tom Holland and we're happy to share that Columbia Pictures announces that his latest movie Uncharted will be in PH theaters starting February 23!

For many PlayStation gamers, Uncharted movie is a huge leap of Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) and Victor Sullivan's (Mark Wahlberg) adventure from the console to the big screen. Tom Holland is a gamer himself of the video game series himself while filming Spider-man: Far Away Home.

Director Ruben Fleischer (Venom, Zombieland) says it’s no secret why the “Uncharted” games have connected with millions of players and sold more than 44 million copies over six games: it plays like a movie, he says, and not just any movie – the kind they don’t make anymore. He also said Tom Holland was the perfect person to lead the adaptation as Nathan Drake.

Nicole Laurel finds "The One"

A range of rock and jazz mixed with musical vocals mixed are in for the Nicole Laurel's new collaboration in The One, with upcoming band Basically Saturday Night coming into different online platforms this February 11.

The original composition is a simple expression between two people who have shed their uncertainties and given themselves entirely to their one true love. The message of the song intends for people to continue seeking, cherishing and living for their own interpretation of “The One”.

In the birth of the new genre called Modern Soul Music, “The One” has beautiful vocal melodies that represent Nicole’s love for modern soul singers like Emily King, it has sonic textures that tip the hat to Mayer’s “Continuum” album, and it also weaves together the group’s love for soul music from the past.” according to Junoy Manalo, Basically Saturday Night's guitarist.

The One is set to be released under Warner Music Philippines with a music video directed by award winning director Gorio Vicuna will be released by the end of February 2022.

My City, My SM, My Art exhibit kicks off National Arts Month

Culture and creativity are once again highlighted in the ongoing exhibit installed at the atrium of SM City Masinag. The exhibit started last Saturday and runs until February 9, 2022 featuring the works of Carlos "Totong" Francisco II, the grandson of the National Artist for Visual Arts, Carlos "Botong" Francisco.

The exhibit also presents the life and works of different artists from Rizal, showcasing talents in photography and painting such as Pinto Art Museum’s Erwin Leaño, Japs Antido, Jerson, Pogs and Jaypee Samson, NCCA Ani ng Dangal Awardee Danny Victoriano and select alumni of University of Rizal System Angono College of Fine Arts, who were featured in the My Art Stop at SM City Masinag in June 2017.

Support Ofalsa and Sunico online concert on February 5

An online concert for the benefit of scholars of the Friends for Cultural Concerns of the Philippines (FCCP) will be staged via Zoom on February 5, 2022, 8pm.

The show, led by tenor Radnel Ofalsa and pianist Raul Sunico, alongside collaborating sopranos Athena Marsha Macatangay and Donna Klariz Baluyut, aims to support 28 artist-scholars of FCCP which are deeply affected by more than 2 years of the pandemic. 

Radnel, who has been a scholar of the FCCP since he was a college student at the University of Santo Tomas, is now taking his Masters in voice at the Mannes School of Music in New York City.
