2 Aileens back in December RAK OF AEGIS!

Aicelle Santos and Kim Molina back-to-back in the December rerun of PETA's blockbuster theater hit, Rak of Aegis. The show begins December 5 until 14 at the PETA Theater Center in Quezon City. The two ladies play the roles of Aileen, a young promodizer caught in the knee-deep flooded streets of Villa Venizia, thinking she can make it big by recording herself singing amidst the floods and uploading it on Youtube, hoping that she will be discovered by Ellen Degeneres and making it to stardom.
Kim Molina, known from her win as Senior Grand Champion Vocalist of the World in the 2009 World Championships of the Performing Arts had auditioned too from other productions like Atlantis' Tarzan apart from joining singing contests. She admires the discipline of theater actors. More so, getting the part in Rak made her sing her heart louder with Aegis' birit-songs. Confessed Aegis fan, she had her training when she was little.
"Siyempre nong bata kapag gusto kang bumirit ng tatay mo, kung hindi Regine, edi Aegis!"
Kim was discovered by Aicelle playing a character in Ghost the Musical and comes back for another rerun of Rak.
"Coming from the first run, sobrang ganda diba? So at least mapantayan, that’s the pressure that I feel ngayon, the pressure na to give whatever I could.”
Much like the character she plays, Kim is a loving daughter and a dreamer; she relates to Aileen’s hopes of making it big and helping her family.
Also coming back in the cast are Abi Sulit, Gab Pangilinan, Gio Gahol as the members of the ensemble, Jimmy Marquez as Jewel, Oj Mariano as Kiel, Arnell Ignacio as Fernan. The cast still includes members from the original run, Kalila Aguilos, Kakai Bautista, Neomi Gonzales, Jerald Napoles, Pepe Herrera, Myke Salomon, Poppert Bernadas, Nor Domingo, Julienne Mendoza, Ron Alfonso, Phillip Palmos, Gold Villar, Gimbey Dela Cruz, Jet Barrun, Paeng Sudayan, Carlon Matobato and John Moran.
Rak of Aegis features the songs of Aegis like Basang Basa sa Ulan, Luha, Halik, Sinta and more. For ticket reservations go to www.ticketworld.com.ph, or call TicketWorld at 891-9999. You may also contact PETA at 725-6244 or 0917-5765400 or email petatheater@gmail.com.

GISELLE KASILAG photographs on exhibit in WANDERLUST

Journalist Giselle Kasilag combines leisure and art in her exhibit entitled Wanderlust: Windows to Asia showing on November 13 at the Water Dragon Gallery at the Yuchengco Museum in RCBC Plaza, Makati City.
Spiral Orange by Giselle Kasilag (detail)
The exhibit features photographs from her vacations all across Asia, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea and the Philippines. Her favorite subjects are architechture, windows and staircases as well as street scenes and nature views. And she is delighted to share her experience and views through her lens. "I like anything that can serve as a portal into another world. I enjoy it when I come across things that are different but still strangely familiar, or so familiar but vaguely different," says Kasilag.
Branching Out
On her travels, she maximizes the experience by taking the words down of the things she can't barely say. It was a way of learning for everyone of us and it is also Kasilag's best excuse to travel.
Her photographs were shown in New York as part of the 2013 event entitled "The Story of Creative." Another piece was projected onto the side of a building in Long Island as part of the "Creatives Rising" event held in the same year. In July 2014, her photograph was shown on electronic billboards covering an entire building in Times Square, New York.

INTERSTELLAR movie review

From acclaimed director Christopher Nolan, we are about to have an intergalactic journey to search for something that will help us survive when the world is coming to an end. The quest for survival is in the hands of a group of NASA explorers lead by Cooper (Matthew McConaughey), a devout father whose dream is to have a good life for his family.
INTERSTELLAR gives us appeals of what we are to protect during our existence. For Cooper, he is torn between his ambition and saving the whole human race. It also tells us in context about preservation of anything. Sometimes we really push ourselves to go away with our loved ones for a reason. And Nolan has reminded us that how hard it is to be away, we promise ourselves that we have to go back, or at least try. Interstellar was deeply emotional. It looked like Con-Air in a few scenes in the views of StarTrek.

It is really good. Is it worthy of an award? Maybe. Though sci-fi movies take filming to another level, Christopher Nolan managed to work in a 70mm film (IMAX format). No 3D formats available but its definitely worth the watch. The feels of getting outer space and the emotions of human relationships are absolutely felt. You will have a great three hours watching this film. I cannot take a lift from my seat to see what's next from scene to scene. Images are well crafted and the script is well-written. Not to mention that you have great casts like Award-winners, Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway.

Opening tomorrow in theaters nationwide, Interstellar is distributed by Warner Bros. Philippines. Starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, with supporting cast, Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain and more.
