TOY STORY 3 movie review

a story of letting go and moving on is delivered in the third installment of TOY STORY -- Andy goes to college and asked to bring stuff only that he needs. so the toys will be left in the attic and will wait for a long time until Andy or someone else would play with them again. incidentally, Andy misplaced the toys other than Woody into a trash bag and then they ended up in the garbage dump. trying to get back to Andy and Woody might be very easy.

but it wasn't finish yet. Andy had to donate them into daycare where kids are toys' bestfriend. Buzz, Jessie, Slinky, the Potatoheads, the Aliens and even Barbie never knew that they are up to something they don't like. thanks to Lotso - a purple, furry plushie bear that smells like strawberries. he and the other toys have given them a warm welcome but they are really up for a dangerous stay. the only one lucky among them is Barbie, finding her partner Ken in the daycare that likewise conspires with Lotso. you will be amazed how Barbie would think for herself.

Woody, not within the perimeters of the daycare has managed to help his pals but later on caught by Lotso and the gang. in their pursuit to escape, they again ended up to the garbage dump and almost turned themselves into ashes.

this is the best TOY STORY movie ever in the series. you will be truly entertained in the funny antics of Buzz, the cute toy scenes, get cheesy over Barbie and Ken, and discover true friendship and treasure them. there's a lot of lessons in store in TOY STORY 3.

i literally cried in pity for the toys in a scene. they had this special thing that bonded them together and they knew that they are there for each other. we want to have that for everyone right? real life wouldn't be so bad at all.

there's also a lesson in moving on. you have to notice and learn how to sacrifice one thing and that you are open for another. that's how the other toys showed Woody that you can't always have the one thing you are comfortable with.

Walt Disney and Pixar brings Toy Story 3 in Philippine theaters starting today. June 17. see it also in IMAX theaters.

SORCERER'S APPRENTICE character posters

Walt Disney Pictures has just released the character posters of its new, fantasy adventure “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” an innovative and epic adventure about a sorcerer and his hapless apprentice who are swept into the center of an ancient conflict between good and evil.

The new individual posters feature the film’s five leading characters, namely The Sorcerer, The Apprentice, The Wizard, The Villain and The Sorceress. Below are their character descriptions:

THE SORCERER aka Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) is a student of Merlin. More than 1,000 years old, Balthazar has been searching the globe until he finds the Prime Merlinean, the descendent of Merlin and inheritor of his great powers. When Balthazar finally discovers him in 10-year-old Dave Stutler, he finds himself with a very reluctant sorcerer’s apprentice.

THE APPRENTICE aka Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel) is a nerdy NYU physics major, lacking confidence and poise, not very popular with girls or even his fellow students. At the age of 10, he experiences a frightening incident when he encounters sorcerer Balthazar Blake after wandering into the bizarre Arcana Cabana curio shop. He’s given a dragon ring that comes to life on his finger, and he’s told that he’ll be a very important sorcerer himself. He then witnesses a furious battle between Balthazar and another sorcerer named Maxim Horvath which made him want to forget the whole matter…until both Balthazar and Horvath re-enter his life 10 years later, forcing him to confront a destiny he would very much like to ignore!

THE SORCERESS aka Veronica (Monica Bellucci) has had the great fortune of being loved by Balthazar Blake—and the misfortune of being loved by Maxim Horvath.

THE VILLAIN aka Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina) was, along with Balthazar Blake and Veronica, a disciple of Merlin and a force of good more than a thousand years ago. But their mutual love for Veronica split the colleagues apart. He and Balthazar have battled through the ages, finally bringing their conflict to modern-day New York City.

THE WIZARD aka Drake Stone (Toby Kebbell) is a long, lean, punked-out illusionist who is actually a dark sorcerer assisting Maxim Horvath in his battle against Balthazar Blake and Dave Stutler. He’s a stage performer with an ego to match his popularity, but with no fan bigger than himself.

Opening soon across the Philippines, “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International.

INCEPTION screens in 3D in the Philippines

IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. Pictures recently announced that INCEPTION, directed by Christopher Nolan (“The Dark Knight”) and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, will be released to IMAX theatres in the Philippines simultaneously with the film's wide release in Digital 2D and conventional cinemas on July 15.

The film marks the third IMAX project for Christopher Nolan, following the record-breaking IMAX release of “The Dark Knight,” which grossed more than $65 million at IMAX theatres. “Inception,” a contemporary sci-fi action film set within the architecture of the mind, will be digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with IMAX DMR technology.

"Chris Nolan and IMAX have proven to be ideally suited to each other, and we're very excited to bring them back together again for 'Inception,'" said Dan Fellman, Warner Bros. Picture's president of domestic distribution. "With the rapidly growing IMAX network, our IMAX audience base for this release will be significantly larger than it was for 'The Dark Knight,' which will add to the film's event status."

"Chris Nolan's unique vision makes his films ideally suited for the IMAX format," said Veronika Kwan-Rubinek, President, Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures International. "As the number of IMAX screens around the world continues to grow, we're thrilled to continue to supply films like 'Inception', which become that much richer when experienced in IMAX."

"This is an incredible addition to our exciting and growing 2010 film slate," said IMAX CEO Richard L. Gelfond. "Chris Nolan's unique vision combined with the talents of Leonardo DiCaprio and the rest of the cast creates the kind of cinematic event that resonates very well with IMAX moviegoers."

"We're thrilled to be working again with Chris Nolan, Emma Thomas and Warner Bros. Pictures to deliver one of next year's biggest movies to our growing audience worldwide," added Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Filmed Entertainment. "With a brilliantly creative and innovative director that knows and understands the power of the IMAX medium, a talented cast lead by a superstar actor and a powerhouse studio that knows how to communicate the IMAX brand to audiences worldwide, this film has all the key ingredients that make this an anchor 2010 IMAX release."

INCEPTION is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

and now i wonder if i'll get even more dizzy in this movie. i assumed that this is a movie that will not only twist your mind but also your sight. hehe

a new home for toys in Toy Story 3

Woody, Buzz, the Potatoheads, Hamm and the rest of the gang of TOY STORY 3 gets a transition in their life. all because Andy is all grown up and he doesn't need his friends anymore when he gets into college. that's why they've been put into another sanctuary... the dare care! and they will get the biggest scare of them all.

but transitions are nice. the dare care has given them new friends. from plastic to plushies. including doll royalty Barbie's partner, Ken voiced by Michael Keaton.
