KICK ASS movie review

Dave Lizewski was just an average geek until he had his "enlightening" to help others. he had his chance to help one but then he's got himself beaten up. with his striking costume and arms found on eBay, he had become famous online while he was able to kick some ass. thus the name, KICK ASS.

clueless, he had been monitored by both good and bad guys. the good guys were a father and daughter tandem, BIG DADDY and HIT GIRL who are armed with fighting skills and weapons which KICK ASS doesn't have. together, they fought against the wrongdoings of businessman and crime lord, Frank D'Amico.

there's a good balance of comedy and cool-action in this movie. but HIT GIRL really stole the show from KICK ASS! the little girl has got some skills crime busting and definitely blowing things off. she's no match with the goonies trying to eliminate them. i think the movie should be named after her.

you'll never get bored with this movie but this is not recommended for those below 13 y/o due to language and obscene elements that's why it's rated R-13. sorry kids.

DATE NIGHT movie review

enjoy couplehood adding spice and thrill to your relationship as what the Fosters did on their DATE NIGHT. Phil (Steve Carell) and Claire Foster (Tina Fey) has put themselves to a lot of trouble when they intentionally claimed other people's restaurant reservation and dealt with the consequences of mistaken identity.

instead of fighting over, the two realized the strength of their marriage by helping each other. it may seem ridiculous at times, they continued to support each other during great trouble that they had.

having Steve Carell and Tina Fey in one production is like seeing another edition of Saturday Night Live - - couples edition. laugh your hearts out with witty relationship humor delivered in DATE NIGHT.

DATE NIGHT opens in the Philippines on April 9 2010 distributed by 20th Century Fox.

CLASH OF THE TITANS movie review

from the legends and written history of Greek mythology, comes another remake of the 1981 Clash of the Titans. to recall the story, here's the sypnosis from Moviefone:

In Clash of the Titans, the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny.

i think the promotions made us to expect more. though the CG effects were good and also actors have portrayed the roles well, you might be missing some points that were taken out of the story. some of my expectations were also but i think they are placed appropriately in the movie. like Pegasus is a black winged-stallion, although it was not that magical as much people would assume, the movie's strong delivery made Pegasus a very mighty horse.

there's a lot of action but there's not a lot of gore stuff. you can't feel disgust like other movies. you can just sit there and stay fine. you also don't have to worry to watch it on 3D.

casting of leading ladies: great! Io and Andromeda are perfect for the beautiful cast. i think Io can be the next Lara Croft. she looks like Anne Curtis in some angles by the way. :)

CLASH OF THE TITANS will be on Philippine theaters starting April 3. distributed by Warner Bros. Philippines.

EVERYBODY'S FINE movie review

due to the advancements in our life today, we sometimes forget some very important but basic things in life. one of them is family. the very people that will listen to us, talk to us and every thing that how one can enjoy life.

i'm so pleased to see EVERYBODY'S FINE. it's about Robert De Niro who plays a father of 4 kids. a very special gathering prepared but all four kids declined to attend. they have provided the best alibis to keep off from their father. all that Robert wants is to see his kids.

the movie discusses tproblem of miscommunication between fathers and kids. most cases we know that children tell more to their mothers and sometimes kids feel that they are pushed too hard for the expectations of their father. for the lesson, children should accept tough love from their father because they also want what's good for them.

if you really miss your family, this is a real tearjerker. you will realize that fathers equally love you when you doubt about it. a lesson that you can say anything to both parents. when i, joriben, flow, ria, earth and iris watched it, we joked that it can be a Maalaala Mo Kaya episode. watch it to know why.

EVERYBODY'S FINE will be shown in Ayala cinemas only starting April 7.
