FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE movie review

For a change, mag Taglish tayo. Thank you muna sa OPPO Philippines for having me sa Premiere Night ng movie na to last night sa SM Megamall. It was also exciting kasi I got to see Sarah G in the flesh and with some stars of the movie. It was a salubong birthday celebration for Sarah's birthday today. More so, Oppo has launched the newest model of Oppo F3 Selfie Expert: Sarah Geronimo Limited Edition, that comes in black with Sarah G's signature.
OPPO F3 Sarah Geronimo Limited Edition
Nandun din daw si John Lloyd, missed the event outside the cinema at hindi na rin sya pumasok. But nasa loob naman sina Christian Balbes, Alexa Ilacad and two other actors (forgot their name, sorry).

Sarah Geronimo during the OPPO Premiere Night
The movie started early so medyo natuwa ako. I was really looking forward to this movie because nasubaybayan ko talaga sina Laida at Miggy sa first tambalan nila. And this makes a refreshing reunion for the two but it maintains the kilig. Out of the common plot nga lang na derived sa PR industry kaso di ata masyadong nagets ng writers ang roles ng "social media influencers" na nagmukhang P.A. lang ni Sarah sa movie. People I know who work in the industry might have the same sentiment but I'll just shrug it off.

I'm sure magte-trend ang mga shout outs na "Dear Future Husband," "Dear Future Wife" at Honesty Cookie sa mga timelines nyo in the first week of showing. Pati mga endorsements na hindi na siguro talaga pwedeng tanggalin sa mga local movies natin e medyo subtle naman so it doesn't affect much at naipasok nang swabe. Overall, mag-eenjoy kayo sa process na nagka-inlove-an silang dalawa.

The OPPO F3 Sarah Geronimo Limited Edition smartphone is available via Lazada for PhP 15,990 or visit this link http://bit.ly/OPPOSarahG.

the newest from Direk Erik Matti, ON THE JOB presents a story of a police chase of two ex-convicts who were hired as hitmen. Creative Director, Dawn Jimenez, Gerald Anderson, Erik Matti, Empress, Joel Torre
the movie was inline of the 20 years of Star Cinema in the industry, being the biggest production company in the Philippines. with its first film, Adan Ronquillo starring Bong Revilla, Jr., it was just right to have an action-drama film that has a different take and will focus on values despite the violence it presents. the cast stresses that it's not just an action movie, but the story that many could relate too. ladies like Empress and Dawn Jimenez remarks that women can look on a better role for them in action sequences.

EKSTRA goes mainstream this August 14

Star Cinema is proud to present the a movie that gives importance to every human being, may it be big or small. but in their context of show business, this film honors the little people that give deeper meaning of what we see on the big screen. EKSTRA (The Bit Player) will be showing in the mainstream cinemas nationwide starting August 14 2013.
the film, starred by the Star for All Seasons, Vilma Santos, plays the title role and happy to have bagged the major award in lead acting. awarded by the Cinemalaya jury of the recent-concluded Cinemalaya Festival at the CCP. among other awards are:

  • Audience Choice Award, Directors' Showcase: "Ekstra" by Jeffrey Jeturian
  • Best Screenplay - Zig Dulay, Antoinette Jadaone and Jeffrey Jeturian, "Ekstra"
  • Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role - Ruby Ruiz, "Ekstra"
  • Best Performance by a Lead Actress - Vilma Santos, "Ekstra"
  • Special Jury Prize - "Ekstra"
  • Netpac (Network for Promotion of Asian Cinema) Special Award - "Ekstra"
the movie was a bit challenging for all since as we've known Vilma Santos to portray lead roles, it was hard for them to make her on the level of the other bit players, de-glamorizing her into the role of Loida Malabanan. on the other hand, the bit players whom she worked with were even controlling themselves not to be starstruck with the presence of their Ate Vi. there are also some bit instances that they found the humility of Vilma Santos, a reason that everyone loves her, in front and at the back of the camera.
the movie teaches everyone, as quoting Vilma Santos, "to love what you do and do it good." it also serves as inspiration for everyone that every person around contributes in the being of an individual.

from book to screen: BAKIT HINDI KA CRUSH NG CRUSH MO?

from book and acknowledgements online, Internet action star, Ramon Bautista's book "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo?" gets its debut on the big screen top-billed by one of Star Cinema's leading pairing of Kim Chiu and Xian Lim which is also their first on-screen team-up.
the movie of the same title, tells the story of Sandy (Kim Chiu) moving on from a dreadful relationship with ex-BF (Kean Cipriano) and trying to compose herself improving the business of new boss Alex (Xian Lim). both Alex and Sandy's flaws in their own fields let them teach other on how to fix it. as intelligent Sandy helps Alex to save his business and Alex helps the ugly duckling Sandy to prove to her ex-BF that she didn't deserve to get her heart broken.

the book serves as a guide for everyone how to answer that silly but thought-provoking question about relationships. a checklist of reasons that we would agree or not but would definitely laugh at when we are guilty of it.

Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo is a rom-com directed by Bb. Joyce Bernal, another movie to hit theaters on July 31. watch the trailer here:

TUHOG is not your expected plot

TUHOG as used as a word in the Philippine vernacular may sound a little not right but a movie entitled with this is ready to change your perception, not just with the word, but with life.
starring Eugene Domingo, Leo Martinez, Enchong Dee, Jake Cuenca and Empress, TUHOG reveals to us that each person is connected with one another and a realization that anything may happen in life and we should learn how to appreciate every time that we have.
each actor also lives by their own mantras about life and admittedly living it up to this day. they serve as inspirations to live every day in a positive outlook and never fails to pray.

the actors also appreciated the way their director, Veronica Velasco, made the treatment to this movie. making sure that all scenes were shot according to her preferences. a well-executed movie that took a lot of patience for every person involved. not only as a movie to sell, but with a lesson to learn by this Cinemalaya awardee.

don't miss this movie on July 17 in theaters. for more information about TUHOG, you may follow Star Cinema on Twitter and like them on Facebook.

in this very special occasion, Star Cinema celebrates Star Magic's 20th anniversary with an anthology of stories that will make us believe in love at every moment. 24/7 IN LOVE features seven heart-thumping clips with Star Magic talents every one loves.

Pokwang (@pokwang27) also described her scene with Sam Milby as a fantasy came true. playing as a 40-year-old virgin, she summarized that their characters will complement the things their are missing. and as age and preferences may differ, love put them closer together.

on Piolo Pascual's story, they regarded it as the "heart" of the whole movie as Piolo and the two kids portray a puppy love in a hospice. Piolo has a different role here as a young kid in a man's body due to a brain illness. people will have another understanding to people in the situation which Piolo portrays. Maja Salvador tells that she is a very prompt personal assistant to Diether Ocampo. in her case, she is a kind of person that opened up the door for Diether's character to love again.

JOHN LLOYD-BEA tandem in THE MISTRESS

Star Cinema gives back to the fans as it celebrates the 10th year anniversary of the most-anticipated love team on screen. John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo in a bolder and more experimental movie in their career, The Mistress.
The Mistress was developed under the inspiration of giving a movie to Bea Alonzo primarily. and the story developers under the direction of Ms. Olivia Lamasan has put a better story that will also carry the message of love, according to writer Vanessa Valdez. and not the usual story of love, The Mistress comes in a 4-sided love story and Bea Alonzo top bills the title role.

John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo

did John Lloyd and Bea miss each other? they do. they always looked forward of doing another project but it was never imagined to be more mature. in their last movie, Miss You Like Crazy, though they both play as career people, they were stuck in the romantic sweetness and stopped going to the next level.

John Lloyd's role as the lover of Sari (Bea Alonzo) gives a more interesting twist to the story as we are accustomed with just only 3 people when we talk about the mistress. here, he goes to the scene and tries to take away Sari in the wrong relationship she has entered. but Sari gives in to the affection but having second thoughts of leaving her other lover, played by Mr. Ronaldo Valdez. the romantic scenes were not really hard for the two but it came very naturally, with the tested relationship of the two onscreen, they have been very comfortable and supportive of each other for the benefit of making a good movie.

at the bloggers conference

Bea Alonzo admits she felt a little awkward doing the scenes with the husband, but the veteran actor has guided her and made some acting advises so that they can execute the scenes very neatly. director Olivia Lamasan has been very satisfied with the results of every take.

The Mistress will provide a story of love, anger, sorrow and fighting for love. but would the two be able to resolve the trials? find out on September 12 in cinemas nationwide.

HILDA KORONEL against THE MISTRESS

it's been more than five years that we missed Ms. Hilda Koronel in the movies and television. but now, she's back for a wonderful project. she plays the legal wife in a 4-sided love story entitled, The Mistress. the said movie is also Star Cinema's offering in celebration of 10 years of the Bea Alonzo - John Lloyd Cruz love team.

The Mistress is an imperfect love story with the right people trying to commit the right things for themselves. the mistress, played by Bea Alonzo, is a reinvention of her character into a braver, bolder and into a more passionate role. watch out also for quotable lines within the movie that Ms. Hilda Koronel will deliver.

according to Ms. Hilda, she has enjoyed her stay out of the country though she misses her life in showbiz and of course, the Philippines. she also witnessed how young talents do their roles very well, especially the talents from Star Cinema. aside from this project, she was also invited to do roles in more films and soaps but she has to screen them in order to provide us, viewers, the quality of acting Ms. Hilda Koronel has.

Ms. Hilda also celebrates her family life with 4 grandchildren. her kids are all successful right now both here and abroad which makes her very proud.
THE MISTRESS will be shown in Philippine cinemas starting September 12. for more updates on the movie, follow @starcinema on Twitter and www.facebook.com/starcinema
