ANDI EIGENMANN as GALEMA: Anak ni Zuma

it will be a year for snakes as ABS-CBN reveals one of the Philippines' most-anticipated comic characters famous from the 70s. Galema, Anak ni Zuma is a girl with two snake heads resting on her shoulder to be played by Andi Eigenmann and soon will bite on Philippine primetime television. a poster reveal came after the teaser that aired a week before.

KALOKALIKE Face 2

with the success of It's Showtime's Kalokalike segment, the show presents a bigger and more diverse line up of finalists vying for the Ultimate Kalokalike title. 72 finalists from different parts of the globe impersonating the artists and celebrities that they look-alike presented their similar aura, features and talents to the press in the recently held press conference.

most finalists have leveled-up their presence by answering press questions and intrigues that the actual celebrity experiences. some of them also had very similar features and presented their talents like how the real thing does.

among my favorites, that which resemble their counterparts well are Michael Jackson, Mr. Bean, Billy Crawford, Cacai Bautista, Maja Salvador, Sunshine of Sexbomb, Jake Cuenca 1, ER Ejercito, Jessica Sanchez, Tado, Matet De Leon, Noli De Castro, Tessa Prieto-Valdez, Apl De Ap, Jed Madela, Dulce, and Freddie Aguilar. Philippine President, Noynoy Aquino also comes in the finalists press conference complete with PSGs which makes it the extra mile.

one of the highlights of the conference was Alfie Lorenzo meeting his own kalokalike in the flesh and be able to talk with him with personal matters in a funny way. the kalokalike is very kind enough to answer the showbiz writer that lightened the mood of the audience more.

the finalists will be making their ways to be the Ultimate Kalokalike Face 2 starting August 26 to September 21. only at the Philippines' most preferred noontime variety show, It's Showtime.

44 candidates for the ULTIMATE KALOKALIKE vie for the title starting May 20 until its final round on June 1 in the preferred noontime show in the Philippines, IT'S SHOWTIME.

the impersonators, from different walks of life from all over the Philippines, display their looks and mannerisms patterned from celebrities here and abroad. since it's first rounds of the competition, the show (It's Showtime) receives high ratings in the noontime slot. a novel, to movie, to TV: DUGONG BUHAY premieres on ABS-CBN

another Carlo J. Caparas masterpiece will be adapted to the TV audience as DUGONG BUHAY premieres in ABS-CBN starting April 8. PBB winner Ejay Falcon stars in this action-drama teleserye in Kapamilya Gold.

"The story is a great dedication to Filipino laborers," as Caparas said. and its lines are well-inflicted to touch hearts and display creative artistry of talents involved in the show. the series is a remake as well from the Ramon Revilla and son, Bong Revilla movie from the 80s.

directors Mikey del Rosario and Toto Natividad feel great honor to handle the show. every talent and crew involved have also dedicated very much to make the show at its best and possible. other actors are Nonie Buencamino, Christian Vasquez, Ronnie Quizon, and Sunshine Cruz who makes her comeback to after many years.

story goes about the revenge of a hacienda worker Simon against the De Laras. in a planned event, he steals the child, Gabriel from the De Lara clan and raised him as his own as Victor. the hatred grew on and tension will be between Victor and the De Laras.

bloggers cover CCTV Patrol with Kabayan Noli De Castro

before CCTV cameras, when crimes and accidents were very rampant, investigations take very long. and in some instances, people involved were absolved from the crimes they committed. but in today's technology, people can point out the person or groups who attack their victims from their mobile phones to CCTV cameras. and this has been a big opportunity for TV Patrol, the flagship news program of ABS-CBN, to deliver news which are caught by these cameras with their segment CCTV Patrol.

for the first time, Kabayan Noli De Castro had the chance to discuss with bloggers about CCTV Patrol. according to him, CCTV cameras were indeed a great help for the police and investigators to track out the criminals. CCTV Patrol is another BMPM (Bayan Mo, Patrol Mo) project which gives regular citizens to give substantive material to be aired on TV for a call to action among authorities.

for instance, the robbery incident in 7-eleven convenience store in Manila helped the police about the fugitives after Zyann Ambrosio's caught videos. when it was aired on TV Patrol, police received text messages from people and follow-up reports has been released.

also another CCTV footage of several men kicking and pointing a man in his own home that went viral in the internet after it was aired in TV Patrol. netizens had heavily discussed the video about authorities have done to stop the incident. after its airing and several follow-ups, the police had identified the suspects of what they call "akyat-bahay" gang.

Kabayan Noli De Castro has stressed the importance of CCTV cameras and what it can do to solve crimes. he adds, let's make use of our own gadgets, cellphones, etc to help the victims of these suspects. he himself, even without CCTV cameras at home had installed human-sensors at home which can also be monitored remotely through an iPad. this protects him from intruders, not to mention that he is a prominent individual taking high-risks.

ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs Head, Jing Reyes discussed how to people contribute to the investigation of these crimes. with a bulk number of photos and videos sent to ireport@abs-cbn.com everyday, the pool of their own researchers examine and verify these videos before it was aired on TV. they also provide the anonimity of the contibutor to protect his own rights especially with those of political figures.

JOHN LLOYD-BEA tandem in THE MISTRESS

Star Cinema gives back to the fans as it celebrates the 10th year anniversary of the most-anticipated love team on screen. John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo in a bolder and more experimental movie in their career, The Mistress.

The Mistress was developed under the inspiration of giving a movie to Bea Alonzo primarily. and the story developers under the direction of Ms. Olivia Lamasan has put a better story that will also carry the message of love, according to writer Vanessa Valdez. and not the usual story of love, The Mistress comes in a 4-sided love story and Bea Alonzo top bills the title role.

did John Lloyd and Bea miss each other? they do. they always looked forward of doing another project but it was never imagined to be more mature. in their last movie, Miss You Like Crazy, though they both play as career people, they were stuck in the romantic sweetness and stopped going to the next level.

John Lloyd's role as the lover of Sari (Bea Alonzo) gives a more interesting twist to the story as we are accustomed with just only 3 people when we talk about the mistress. here, he goes to the scene and tries to take away Sari in the wrong relationship she has entered. but Sari gives in to the affection but having second thoughts of leaving her other lover, played by Mr. Ronaldo Valdez. the romantic scenes were not really hard for the two but it came very naturally, with the tested relationship of the two onscreen, they have been very comfortable and supportive of each other for the benefit of making a good movie.

Bea Alonzo admits she felt a little awkward doing the scenes with the husband, but the veteran actor has guided her and made some acting advises so that they can execute the scenes very neatly. director Olivia Lamasan has been very satisfied with the results of every take.

HILDA KORONEL against THE MISTRESS

it's been more than five years that we missed Ms. Hilda Koronel in the movies and television. but now, she's back for a wonderful project. she plays the legal wife in a 4-sided love story entitled, The Mistress. the said movie is also Star Cinema's offering in celebration of 10 years of the Bea Alonzo - John Lloyd Cruz love team.

The Mistress is an imperfect love story with the right people trying to commit the right things for themselves. the mistress, played by Bea Alonzo, is a reinvention of her character into a braver, bolder and into a more passionate role. watch out also for quotable lines within the movie that Ms. Hilda Koronel will deliver.

according to Ms. Hilda, she has enjoyed her stay out of the country though she misses her life in showbiz and of course, the Philippines. she also witnessed how young talents do their roles very well, especially the talents from Star Cinema. aside from this project, she was also invited to do roles in more films and soaps but she has to screen them in order to provide us, viewers, the quality of acting Ms. Hilda Koronel has.

it's not your usual afternoon drama as ABS-CBN gives a new lighter show to fill your afternoon teleserye cravings. Richard Yap and Jodi Sta. Maria top bill the latest teleserye entitled Be Careful with My Heart starting this July 9 after It's Showtime.

this is a story about Maya Dela Rosa (Jodi Sta. Maria) who sees everything positive around her. she is hailed from the province and decides to go to the city to fulfill her dreams and gain more financial support for her family. in unfortunate circumstances, she finds Richard Lim.

Richard Yap (aka Papa Chen) plays Richard Lim, a widower business man searching for a nanny until she finds Maya. she hires Maya to take care of her kids Luke, Nikki, and Abigail who was a bit deaf. from there they will develop deeper feelings for each other.

ABS-CBN's premiere comediennes Pokwang, Pooh, K Brosas and Chokoleit will redo their gags at the Music Museum for the repeat run of 4 DA BEST PAK NA PAK. a stand-up comedy show with a little musical serving from the 4 people. the much anticipated return is due to the success of the previous line up last March, still at the Music Museum.

in an interview conducted, the group are very excited for their upcoming shows on May 4, 11 and 12.

there's so much more to expect said K Brosas. double the fun and laughter, said Pooh. Chokoleit also remarks that there will be more surprises than the first show. as some people have seen it from the first run, they are also invited to see it again, said Pokwang.

JM De Guzman plays teenage father in Angelito: Batang Ama

in the roster of Kapamilya leading men, a new breed will take on the role very significant in today's youth. JM De Guzman plays a teenage boy accidentally taking the responsibility of a father in "Angelito: Batang Ama." the story is about the truth of a very innocent boy who engaged in a responsibility that took away his time to enjoy life. coined as new "advoca-serye," this TV show will teach the youth how some "things" can wait and should be well-thought of.

joining JM De Guzman are vatican actors like Elizabeth Oropesa, who admired the young actor's talent and his professionality. she also regarded the other young casts who take on the story not just a job but a mission to spread the word about implications of teenage pregnancy. she was also a teenage mom herself and narrated how she raised her own child like a best friend. Snooky Serna, making a comeback in the TV scene, very thankful of ABS-CBN by giving her this project. they portray the elders of JM (Angelito) and Charie Pineda (Rosalie) whom they guided very well but incidents disappoint them.

the young actors in the cast are Sam Concepcion (Migoy), Matt Evans (Rolan), Felix Roco (Spongky), and Devon Seron (Tere), who played the friends of Angelito and Rosalie as they enjoy teenage life. joining them are Kaye Abad and Tom Rodriguez.

JM De Guzman and Charie Pineda went into immersion for research about the roles. and on Angelito: Batang Ama, the issue of teenage pregnancy is shown from the perspective of the teenage father, unlike before in Philippine soap operas, it is always seen from the perspective of the teenage mother.
