follow the road to stardom with American Idol 12 in StarWorld

Idol fanatics tunes in every Thursday and Friday night in StarWorld for the premiere of American Idol Season 12.
the new season gives us a new set of judges with Randy Jackson. joining him are a good and marketable panel with Keith Urban, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. and to start with, the judges are at the heart of New York City in Manhattan for auditions.
of course, we'll watch out for who's good and even the worse and funny auditions. but this one auditioner named Sarah Restuccio is a looker and luckily passed the auditions. the country girl who rapped and sang Superbass by Nicki caught her the vote -- but Mariah doesn't agree on that.
more and more auditions are to watch out for but it was the rumored cat fight between the ladies are more interesting for me.

you can see more of the conversations about American Idol season 12 by following #AIonSW and follow the updates by @StarWorld_PH.

AMERICAN IDOL 11 is Phillip Phillips!

and finally the long wait is over with the most exciting American Idol season for me. with a whopping 132 million votes across America and even online, Phillip Phillips is crowned as the new American Idol. i personally didn't like the results but it was easy to accept. though i rooted for Jessica Sanchez to get the title, there are some factors that sank in me to accept Phillip's winning moment. last night was full of substantial and very entertaining moments at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.
Biggest Highlights:
  1. Ace Young proposes to Diana DeGarmo - season 4 finalists profess their love onstage. Ryan Seacrest made a special accomplice on this. congratulations to the couple.
  2. the finalists give special numbers in memoriam of music icons Whitney Houston and Robin Gibb.
  3. Jennifer Holliday and Jessica Sanchez duet of And I am Telling You I'm Not Going where they received a full standing ovation inside the Nokia Theater. the most powerful rendition yet but the awkwardness became Twitter's #1 trend worldwide.
  4. sweet rendition of Up Where We Belong by the top 2 finalists.
Analyses:
  1. Phillip Phillips is a true-blood American. trends among the past seasons where the trend is that there is a better talent from other races, the white guy wins.
  2. Jessica may have been the trending topic worldwide but we should also consider the demographics of the voters. Steve Tyler and Jimmy Iovine admitted that Phillip may have captured the votes on the third round.
  3. Phillip holds the majority of Americans where Jessica's votes might only come from the West Coast.
  4. this is another season where the WGWG (white guy with guitar) wins. who knows, the voters maybe tired of the diva spectacle that Jessica had shown throughout the show and a better way to relax is to listen to the calming voice of Phillip especially when he sang Home on the third round.
  5. Phillip may have also got the sympathy votes since news came out that he is suffering from a kidney problem. the first thing that he should do, have his operation. we should let him have it for better health.
  6. many have noted that Jessica will be defying odds if she wins the title. the first saved finalists to become in the final two for one. this might somehow relieved her supporters but the votes weren't enough.
  7. the finale is Jessica's show. the overwhelming duet with Jennifer Holliday is a fulfillment for her. she can get in the league of the veteran singers already! after she sang it, she can leave and even let Phillip just accept the award whole-heartedly. besides, she's got a great career coming at her feet already.
still, some people won't accept this win. and still a talk of the world. we can't say who wins but we can control by contributing votes to the one we're rooting for, as Ryan Seacrest would always say.

KRIS ALLEN wins AMERICAN IDOL

KRIS ALLEN is crowned the 8th American Idol after competing against Adam Lambert. i would like to enumerate some reasons why Kris Allen had won this competition:
  1. he is the type of contestant that an American Idol resembles. unlike Adam Lambert that is so out of the box, the reason why he gained his popularity.
  2. the votes of the fans of those who got eliminated shifted to Kris Allen. that includes the youngsters and those under the family orientation. let's admit that the number of rockers are still no match to pop.
  3. Kris Allen won the 2 out of 3 rounds from the performances last night. Adam Lambert wasn't so lucky there.
with Kris Allen now the new American Idol, the next battle is the market sales of the singles and albums. good luck guys

American Idol 8: May 13 results

Danny Gokey got eliminated May 13 on American Idol thus leaving this season with another man vs man face off between Adam Lambert and Kris Allen.

Gokey has been a strong contender in American Idol but has not successfully made it this week. on the other hand, Lambert and Allen have been included in the bottom rank prior May 13.

IMO, i think Gokey should stay in American Idol. the show may lack some competition factor for i think the final two isn't the same level. true that they both have great singing talents but Danny Gokey is a better competitor to Adam Lambert than Kris Allen.

i'll just hope for a really good American Idol show next week for the finale.

American Idol 8

wala atang nagpopost ng tungkol sa greatest popularity show ever! or baka ako lang ang adik? e kahapon nagsimula na ang season 8 ng American Idol with their new judge, Kara DioGuardi (sana tama ang spelling, ayoko na i-verify.) Kansas City hailed the first auditions, as usual, jampacked ang stadiums. though i never had the chance to complete the 2-hour primer yesterday, one girl that looks like Emily Rose is good. Kara said that we should look up to this season on the guys. hmm, no bitterness girls ha but what if another Ruben, Taylor or David na naman ang manalo?

a cat-fight on Idol? maybe. nung nilabas sa press that there will be a fourth judge, everybody's eyes are on Paula. mood swings meron. she first said that she was aloof with the new judge but later she changed her statement na excited na sya makasama si Kara. anyway, Kara i think is more fierce than Paula. i don't know more of her yet pero buti nalang there's Randy and Simon who will pull them back off each other when catfight begins. and she looks pretty, huh. a little bit of Katharine McPhee.

and what's with that girl who auditioned with the bikini?

winners and losers from AI 2008

review lang ito na natanggap ko sa email. since hindi naman ako masyado nakanood this season, i can't relate to some. pero im very happy na si DC ang nanalo!

here is the review:

There may be two Davids in the "American Idol" finale, but there's no Goliath. Either would be OK as a winner. Both are good singers. One doesn't overpower the other. The hip choice is David Cook, 25, because he's older, has a rock edge and is less likely to flash a nervous, squirmy smile than sweet boy wonder David Archuleta, 17.

No matter who wins, there's a glitch in the "Idol" star-maker machinery. Ratings are down. Charisma and energy are missing.

"Idol" is having an identity crisis, and not just because two guys with the same first name are left.

David C. and David A. have their final sing-off tonight. Wednesday, we'll find out the winner, after the usual two hours of celebrity-studded padding.

But this year, there are plenty of winners and losers to go around.

Losers:The judges, who've spent an entire season phoning in their critiques. It wasn't just Paula Abdul who embarrassed herself by reviewing a song that hadn't been sung yet. Randy Jackson stuck to a tired script of phrases like "It was just all right for me." Simon Cowell seemed completely disengaged. If they don't care enough to be excited, why should we?

Winner: The person who decided to let contestants play instruments. The innovation proved "Idol" is capable of making the changes necessary to get back on track. Brooke White's piano, David Cook's guitar, even Chikezie's just-learned-it harmonica were all welcome additions.

Winners: Clean-speech advocates, who appreciated the various exclamations of "gosh" uttered eight times by David Archuleta (in a slight Napoleon Dynamite voice) during his visit to his hometown last week. David A. has made wholesomeness safe again for America's youth. Don't you just want to squeeze his head off?

Loser: Jeff Archuleta, who was banned from his son's rehearsal sessions, an indication the rumors of his stage-dad ways are true. Maybe this is why poor David A. looks like a deer frozen in the headlights as he awaits the judges' comments.

Loser: The questions-from-viewers-at-home segment that helped fill the empty minutes of those hour-long "Idol" results episodes. Why did the producers persist in running the questions on the giant screen before the fans had a chance to ask them via phone? To make it extra boring?

Losers: The girls instructed to stand in front of the stage and wave their hands, pretending they're thrilled by every performance. Next year, let's give them cigarette lighters to hold up, to make it extra hokey.

Loser: Musical theater legend Andrew Lloyd Webber, who seemed way too geeked at being an "Idol" mentor (and proved how irrelevant he is to current audiences when Jason Castro admitted he didn't know "Memory" was sung by a cat).

Winner: Ascots, the effete neck scarves that inched back toward coolness when Australian Michael Johns wore them.

Loser: Ryan Seacrest, for milking the drama the night Johns got kicked off. Seacrest first paused to remind viewers nobody was sent home last year on "Idol Gives Back" week. Then he gave Johns the boot. Nice fakeout -- if you're a sadist.

Winner: David Cook's hairdressers. Cook started off as a permanent hair don't with a combed-forward 'do and stringy bangs. The stylists tamed his locks, and Cook helped matters by wisely making fun of himself and revealing his big-head baby pictures.

Winner: Dreadlocks. We love you, laid-back dude Jason Castro, but we can't imagine you reaching the final four with a buzz cut.

Winner: Arm tattoos, which helped Carly Smithson connect with younger viewers even as the judges tried to beat the angry spunk out of her.

Loser: Full body tattoos, which made Smithson's husband look weird and scary to older viewers at home and probably cost her some votes. Leave the total inkage to Michael on "Prison Break."

Loser: Amanda Overmyer, the skunk-haired nurse who finished 11th, one short of making it into the "American Idols Live!" cross-country tour.

Winner: The hauntingly beautiful "Hallelujah," which soared in popularity when Castro performed it.

Loser: Former winner Fantasia, who earned a stare of bafflement from Cowell near the end of her no-holds-barred guest performance last week. Either he hated the song or ... he really hated it.

Winner: Broadway musicals, which have become a career opportunity for "Idol" alums like Fantasia, Clay Aiken, LaKisha Jones and (soon in the "Grease" revival) Taylor Hicks. Most likely to join the list next is Syesha Mercado, who was practically dragged to the exit by the judges and flown to a "Rent" audition.

Winner: Country music. With Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler paving the way for beautiful blondes with a twang, Kristy Lee Cook should find a happy home in Nashville.

it's David vs David!

as per news taken from Yahoo:
`American Idol' gets down to its final 2 contestants
By ERIN CARLSON, Associated Press Writer

It'll be David vs. David.

Syesha Mercado was voted off "American Idol" Wednesday night, paving the way for the expected showdown between David Archuleta and David Cook.

Mercado, a 21-year-old actress from Sarasota, Fla., was the last woman standing on the top-rated Fox contest. The big-voiced belter surpassed a more accomplished singer (Carly Smithson), a fan favorite (Brooke White) and a statuesque country crooner (Kristy Lee Cook).

While other contestants floundered, Mercado challenged herself with ambitious song choices like Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come." She showed more personality -- and lots of leg -- while swiveling her hips in a glittery gold minidress for a rendition of "Proud Mary." She cried when Paula Abdul gave her a standing ovation last week.

Abdul held the sugar on Tuesday's performance show, telling Mercado that she thought her performance of "Hit Me Up" wasn't "good enough to get into the finals."

With Mercado out of the way, "Idol" can now fully hype the David vs. David matchup.

There's Archuleta, the 17-year-old singing prodigy from Murray, Utah, with the overly involved stage dad. And there's Cook, the 25-year-old former bartender from Blue Springs, Mo., with an emo edge that the angelic Archuleta lacks.

Who will snag the title next Wednesday?

One thing is for sure: His name will be David.
I WANT DAVID COOK TO WIN!
