EAT PRAY LOVE sneak peek

#1 NEW YORK BESTSELLER is now a major motion picture!

From producer Brad Pitt and director Ryan Murphy (TV’s Nip/Tuck, Glee) comes Columbia Pictures’ new drama Eat Pray Love starring Academy Award-winner Julia Roberts. The film is based on Elizabeth Gilbert‘s international bestseller of the same title.

Eat Pray Love also stars James Franco (Spider-Man trilogy), Richard Jenkins (TV‘s Six Feet Under), Viola Davis (Nights in Rodanthe), Billy Crudup (Mission: Impossible III) and Oscar-winner Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men).

In the film, Liz Gilbert (Roberts) is a modern woman on a quest to marvel at and travel the world while rediscovering and reconnecting with her true inner self. At a crossroads after a divorce, Gilbert takes a year-long sabbatical from her job and uncharacteristically steps out of her comfort zone, risking everything to change her life. In her wondrous and exotic travels, she experiences the simple pleasure of eating in Italy, the power of prayer in India, and, finally and unexpectedly, the inner peace and balance of love in Bali.

Indeed, there really is more than one way to let yourself go and see the world.

Eat Pray Love is produced by Dede Gardner, with a screenplay by Ryan Murphy & Jennifer Salt. Executive producers are Brad Pitt, Stan Wlodkowski, and Jeremy Kleiner. Director of Photography is Robert Richardson, ASC. Production Designer is Bill Groom. Editor is Bradley Buecker. Costume Designer is Michael Dennison. Music by Dario Marianelli. Music Supervision by PJ Bloom.

Opening soon across the Philippines, Eat Pray Love is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International. VAMPIRES SUCK movie review

inspired from teen-hits Twilight Saga: Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse, comes a hilarious parody of the teenage girl who are torn between the love of two immortals. Jenn Proske stars as Becca, the newbie from Sporks (Forks) who fells in love with a vampire, Edward Sullen, but also gets the attention of a werewolf man, Jacob played by Chris Riggi.

this movie is a good laugh exaggerating the character of Bella from Twilight who which is a little shy in the original story and all other details. the outward sarcasm of the movie made me laugh which i totally agree. why would a girl who is matured enough won't be able to fight for herself and depend on two clashing lovers just to escape from a hungry vampire? i think that's pretty stupid. but in irony, i love watching the Twilight series.

i wonder, what if the real characters think that way? it's making a bonk on the head to Stephanie Meyer that made Bella weak. but we'll see if they didn't offend her and the Twilight fans and hope that they'll take it lightly. besides, it's a feel-good movie.

there's even special participations by Lady Gaga, Alice in Wonderland, Buffy and event Gossip Girl.

VAMPIRES SUCK opens on August 25 by 20th Century Fox distributed by Warner Bros.

BEN AFFLECK is back in THE TOWN

Academy Award® winner Ben Affleck (Gone Baby Gone) directs and stars in Warner Bros.’ The Town, a dramatic thriller about robbers and cops, friendship and betrayal, love and hope, and escaping a past that has no future.

The film also stars Rebecca Hall (Vicky Christina Barcelona), Jon Hamm (TV’s Mad Men), Oscar® nominee Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker), Blake Lively (TV’s Gossip Girl), Oscar® nominee Pete Postlethwaite (Inception), and Academy Award® winner Chris Cooper (Adaptation).

In the film, Doug MacRay (Affleck) is an unrepentant criminal, the de facto leader of a group of ruthless bank robbers who pride themselves in stealing what they want and getting out clean. With no real attachments, Doug never has to fear losing anyone close to him. But that all changed on the gang’s latest job, when they briefly took a hostage–bank manager, Claire Keesey (Hall). Though they let her go unharmed, Claire is nervously aware that the robbers know her name… and where she lives. But she lets her guard down when she meets an unassuming and rather charming man named Doug….not realizing that he is the same man who only days earlier had terrorized her. The instant attraction between them gradually turns into a passionate romance that threatens to take them both down a dangerous, and potentially deadly, path.

The Town is produced by Academy Award® winner Graham King (The Departed) and Basil Iwanyk (Clash of the Titans) from a screenplay by Peter Craig and Ben Affleck & Aaron Stockard, based on the novel Prince of Thieves by Chuck Hogan. The executive producers are Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, William Fay and David Crockett, and Chay Carter served as co-producer.

The behind-the-scenes creative team was led by Oscar®-winning director of photography Robert Elswit (There Will Be Blood), production designer Sharon Seymour (Gone Baby Gone), Oscar®-nominated editor Dylan Tichenor (There Will Be Blood), and costume designer Susan Matheson (The Kingdom). The music is composed by Harry Gregson-Williams and David Buckley, who previously collaborated on Affleck’s Gone Baby Gone.

Opening soon across the Philippines, The Town is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

THE OWLS OF GAHOOLE - SYPNOSIS and voices

Acclaimed and visionary filmmaker Zack Snyder (Watchmen, 300) makes his animation debut with Warner Bros.’ fantasy family adventure in 3D, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole based on the beloved Guardians of Ga’Hoole books by Kathryn Lasky.

The film follows Soren (voice of Jim Sturgess), a young owl enthralled by his father’s epic stories of the Guardians of Ga’ Hoole, a mythic band of winged warriors who had fought a great battle to save all of owlkind from the evil Pure Ones.

While Soren dreams of someday joining his heroes, his older brother, Kludd (voice of Ryan Kwanten), scoffs at the notion, and yearns to hunt, fly and steal his father’s favor from his younger sibling. But Kludd’s jealousy has terrible consequences—causing both owlets to fall from their treetop home and right into the talons of the Pure Ones.

Now it is up to Soren to make a daring escape with the help of other brave young owls. Together they soar across the sea and through the mist to find the Great Tree, home of the legendary Guardians—Soren’s only hope of defeating the Pure Ones and saving the owl kingdoms.

The film features the voices of Emily Barclay, Abbie Cornish, Emilie de Ravin, Ryan Kwanten, Miriam Margolyes, Helen Mirren, Sam Neill, Geoffrey Rush, Jim Sturgess, Hugo Weaving and David Wenham.

Snyder is directing from a screenplay by Emil Stern and John Orloff. The film is being produced by Zareh Nalbandian, with Donald De Line, Deborah Snyder, Lionel Wigram, Chris DeFaria, Kathryn Lasky and Bruce Berman serving as executive producers.

Opening soon across the Philippines, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole will be presented in 3D and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

friends and family disaster at GOING THE DISTANCE

Throughout the romantic comedy “Going the Distance,” both long-distance lovers Erin (Drew Barrymore) and Garrett (Justin Long) have the support—and skepticism—of friends and, in Erin’s case, family. Playing the lovers’ alternately annoying and earnest “support system” are Christina Applegate (Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore”), Jason Sudeikis (“What Happens in Vegas”) and Charlie Day (“Reno 911”).

Applegate plays Corinne, Erin’s overprotective sister who is less than thrilled with her little sister’s romantic choices, both past and present.

Applegate infused her character with a backstory in which “it had really just been the two of them for many years; I thought perhaps Corinne had kind of raised Erin,” the actress speculates. “Therefore, she’s very controlling of her world as well as her sister, but at the same time she has her own moments where she’s a little naughty.”

“Christina and Drew were great,” director Nanette Burstein declares. “Even though this was their first time working together, they absolutely felt like real sisters to me.”

Barrymore agrees. “I loved working with Christina,” she says. “She was totally inspiring and made me laugh all the time.”

On the opposite coast, Garrett is frequently flanked by best friends Box and Dan, who like Erin but aren’t sure they like Garrett when he’s with her—or, more specifically, once she’s left—and the constant texting and phone calls become a major distraction for him.

Box, who works at the record label with Garrett, is played by Jason Sudeikis. “Box is Garrett’s cutting, know-it-all best friend,” Sudeikis remarks. “Thanks to all the technology that makes it possible to date someone who is miles away, Box is a little frustrated by the fact that his friend isn’t really present, even though he’s right in front of him.”

Charlie Day is Dan, Garrett’s roommate and earnest but dimwitted friend, who tries to further Garrett’s romance by taking advantage of the fact that the walls in their apartment are paper thin. Day explains, “Dan often listens to whatever’s going on in Garrett’s room, and either comments through the wall or plays music that he feels suits the occasion. He’s not only his best friend, he’s his life DJ.”

“Jason portrayed Box with great acerbic wit, and Charlie was all sweetness as Dan, so the way they played off each other was really funny,” producer Jennifer Gibgot says. “The trio of guys felt very genuine. They had fun and truly connected with one another and I think that comes through in the movie.”

“We really had a tremendous cast,” Burstein commends. “They were even funnier than I could have ever imagined. Being a first-time feature director, I felt extremely lucky.”

Opening soon across the Philippines, Going the Distance is a New Line Cinema production, and distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
