this morning as i've seen and heard on the news, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)Chairman Emmanuel Angeles announced that he will block any action regarding the PUP tuition fee increase. i hope so. but since to the rising prices, the Php 12 current tuition per unit in PUP would not be enough to sustain all projects and activities of the university. it would provided that the subsidy for PUP education will be increased so that it will provide the needs of the university.
i don't know about this, but still, PUP has Board of Regents that will decide on the increase. i hope that the increase may be gradual and would help the people adjust.

i was just informed this morning that a terrible thing happened in my school. students are in outrage behavior starting to walk out from classes and threw out chairs and tables out from the classrooms. this is a barbaric attitude and should not be tolerated.
they are opposing the increase in tuition fee, originally Php 12 per unit. for a full load of 24 units, you can enroll yourself for about Php 500 per semester. a very cheap price for college education. lately, the PUP administration has decided to increase it to Php 200 per unit making the tuition fee soar up to more or 2000% per semester.
PUP is a state-university with students paying little for university education. i really don't know if it's really true that students came from poor families. as for my stay at PUP, i can see students with gadgets even more updated than the professors and PUP employees. they are more trendy when it comes to fashion, accessories and technology but i am so disappointed that they are resolving such cases to violence.
so who's to blame? all three sectors involved actually. and i've got words to tell them:
government. i believe it's in your programs to provide good quality education. IT SHOULD BE THERE! we don't have to beg for it. supply a good subsidy on education in order to improve the education in the country. not that PUP students are less fortunate, believe me, they all want to have a better life ahead of them. if you don't want scenarios like this, know what you have to provide. it wouldn't happen in places where huge cases of graft and corruption is taking place. please be OF SERVICE to the people as what you've promised while you were campaigning. make our country a better place to live so that great minds wouldn't leave the country. we have gotten so behind! let's make actions so that we can stand on our own.
the state universities admins. please represent the students. not that you are there to work but to take care of them. once you accepted an applicant in the university, hone them as your child, a part of your family. you also don't want this kind of scenario. it's like putting them into a good school. also one thing, if in case the increase is irrevocable, don't astound us with such an increase. make it gradual so that everybody can adjust.
the students. you are the victims. but you also have to know that you have to prepare yourself. you can't pay the tuition if you are an academic scholar. study hard, work hard. you'll get what you deserve. what you've done to our school is a very barbaric activity to be frank. you caused a lot of damages that lessened the facilities that we are enduring for a long time. it's not fair to the students who wants to study peacefully. you've made a negative mark to the public. and talk to the admin in a diplomatic way. you are not in school to be trained to do such things but to be civilized people. you know the consequences.
also live within your means. your parents are also working hard for your future. you know that.
i hope i had lessons shared here. i may not give in detail the technical and lawful things here, i hope in layman's terms you understood what i've just said.
and hmmm... BAPR 4-2d? malaki na ba ang population ng BAPR sa PUP? kala ko dinidissolve to ng mga insecure na ibang departments ng College of Business?

Kung ang Marikina City ang tinaguriang Shoe Capital of the Philippines, ang PUP naman daw ang sinasabi ngayong "Tsinelas Capital" ng ating bansa. Wala ngang factory ng tsinelas ang ating unibersidad, pero sa PUP campus ka lang makakakita ng sangkatutak na kabataang sabay-sabay na nakasuot ng tsinelas, huh! Tama. . . TSINELAS nga! Iba’t ibang klaseng tsinelas. O, sabihin na lang nating maaaring lahat ng klase ng tsinelas ay makikita mong suot ng pupian.
Astig? Japormz? Pangmasa? Pangtibak? Uso? Malaya? Ilan sa sinasabi nilang dahilan kung bakit feel nilang magtsinelas sa kampus at mismong sa loob ng klase. Marami ang nagre-react, lalo na ang mga dating pupian. Lalo raw kasi nagiging cheap ang dating ng PUP. Pangmasa na nga raw, tapos, pangmahirap pa ang suot sa paa? Waaaahhhh!
“E, ano naman kung nakatsinelas?” banat na tanong ng nakararaming pupian sa ngayon. Wala raw masama kung nakatsinelas man sila sa pagpasok sa PUP. Ang importante ay ang kahandaan ng sarili sa kanyang pinag-aaralan at ang pokus sa pag-aaral. Hindi dapat maging batayan ng estado sa buhay kung nakatsinelas ka man o hindi. Kasi nga raw, uso talaga ang tsinelas sa ngayon. Halos lahat ay feel ang magtsinelas. Mas Malaya raw kasing kumilos, iwas paltos, iwas kalyo, iwas amoy, nakasunod ka pa sa uso.
Wala ngang masama kung nakatsinelas ang mga pupians! E, ano naman daw kung maging TSINELAS CAPITAL tayo?! Totoo namang sa PUP ka lang makakakita ng mga estudyanteng malayang nakakapagsuot ng kahit anong klase ng tsinelas. Ang dapat lang. . . manatiling mataas ang sistema ng ating edukasyon at mapanatili ng mga pupians ang pagiging matalino, madiskarte, may paninindigan, matapang, progresibo, maabilidad, makabayan at responsableng iskolar ng bayan. . . kahit pa sabihing nakasuot lang sila ng tsinelas ng bayan. Dapat utak pupians! Wag namang utak tsinelas. . . wahehehe!

hay naku, tantanan nyo yang poverty issue na yan a. napaka-ironic na ng PUP kasi naman, mga mahihirap daw pero naka-IPod, maganda ang cellphone at laging may load (daig nyo pa nga mga prof natin), branded ang mga suot, at kung mag-sinelas man, naka-BANANA PEEL or HAVAIANAS pa! yan ba ang mga mahihirap?
e ang sakin lang, imbes na magpasikatan kayo dyan sa eskwelahan nating "PANG-MAHIRAP," e atupagin ang pag-aaral. tapos eto pang mga aktibista ang nangunguna sa pag-display ng mga branded nilang gamit.
saka MALI NAMAN TALAGA ANG PAGSUSUOT NG TSINELAS SA ESKWELAHAN. pano kayo rerespetuhin ng ibang eskwelahan nyan e kung kayo mismo hindi nyo marespeto ang sarili nyong eskwelahan. napaka-inappropriate naman talaga nun. hindi naman sa pagiging radikal ng pagiisip nasusukat ang katalinuhan ng isang tao. "Courage is doing something right when everybody else is doing wrong."
