All-star cast to save the world in Don't Look Up

Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Jonah Hill, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Timothee Chalamet, Ariana Grande, and more, star in an apocalyptic dark comedy movie coming to Netflix this December. Check out the first look images for the movie Don't Look Up.
Don't Look Up tells the story of Kate Dibiasky (Jennifer Lawrence), an astronomy grad student, and her professor Dr. Randall Mindy (Leonardo DiCaprio) make an astounding discovery of a comet orbiting within the solar system. The problem — it’s on a direct collision course with Earth. The other problem? No one really seems to care. Turns out warning mankind about a planet-killer the size of Mount Everest is an inconvenient fact to navigate. With the help of Dr. Oglethorpe (Rob Morgan), Kate and Randall embark on a media tour that takes them from the office of an indifferent President Orlean (Meryl Streep) and her sycophantic son and Chief of Staff, Jason (Jonah Hill), to the airwaves of The Daily Rip, an upbeat morning show hosted by Brie (Cate Blanchett) and Jack (Tyler Perry). With only six months until the comet makes impact, managing the 24-hour news cycle and gaining the attention of the social media obsessed public before it’s too late proves shockingly comical — what will it take to get the world to just look up?! Jennifer Lawrence reunites with Hunger Games director Francis Lawrence in spy-agent thriller Red Sparrow which will be shown in cinemas February 28.
Jennifer Lawrence stars as Dominika Egorova in “Red Sparrow,” who is drafted against her will to become a “sparrow,” a trained seductress in the Russian security service. Dominika learns to use her body as a weapon, but struggles to maintain her sense of self during the dehumanizing training process. Finding her power in an unfair system, she emerges as one of the program’s strongest assets. Her first target is Nate Nash (Joel Edgerton), a CIA officer who handles the agency’s most sensitive infiltration of Russian intelligence. The two young operatives fall into a spiral of attraction and deception, which threatens their careers, allegiances and the security of both countries. Based on the book by former CIA officer Jason Matthews, “Red Sparrow” reunites Jennifer Lawrence with her “Hunger Games” director, Francis Lawrence with with Joel Edgerton, Matthias Schoenaerts, Charlotte Rampling, Mary-Louise Parker and Jeremy Irons rounding out the cast.
Spending her life under Matron would demand greater thinking of what people actually want seeing yourself involved. What I like about it is how Dominika was able to control American and Russian governments into her hands and get what she wants at the end.
Red Sparrow's plot would turn you around and will twist you on your seats as the bloodbath after an erotic encounter is openly shown. From what I think, Red Sparrow made an exploitation of Jennifer Lawrence because of the nudity it displays. JLaw might have agreed on the terms and the storyline but I think, she as an advocate of the "Me Too" movement, I wonder how she felt while shooting this, not to mention about the nude photos that surfaced years ago where she felt really violated of its spread. But that's up to her and decisions have been made and she's mature enough to decide on her own.
If you're looking for intense action, Red Sparrow will not provide car chases but play on your mind with excitement. This is also Jennifer Lawrence's most brutal and daring movie yet. Rated R-16.
“Red Sparrow” opens February 28 in cinemas nationwide from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

mother! movie review

When you talk about Darren Aronofsky's mother!, it requires different levels of understanding. It may be very confusing whether you'll interpret its context as how you've seen it or how you can assert it with deeper meanings. You may see it as pretty effed up movie but here are my takeaways for mother!:
You can be as paranoid as mother (Jennifer Lawrence) in protecting her belongings, in this case, her home. Who would like to let someone in their homes, take advantage of their belongings and bring in more over which you did not know? She can barely speak up and complain and take all control of everything but then she is always ignored.
You may see it and then question yourself why did you even watch this movie? There is a lot happening and elements which you cannot understand. Maybe the reason for it is just you just like to see a Jennifer Lawrence movie, which I can vouch that she acted very well here. Almost 2 hours you'll have extreme close ups of Jennifer Lawrence here.
Javier Bardem's character is also very confusing and maybe you'll hate him for why he allows things. Basically all the others can be hated in such a manner that you yourself would throw them out.
Or you can be a scholar to see that this is a retelling of a very familiar story. You have to see this to find out and I can discuss this with you.
mother! is showing in cinemas today.

There are reasons why you should never, ever let anyone in your home AT ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
Oscar-winning director Darren Aronofsky films a horror thriller starring Academy-award winner Jennifer Lawrence in "mother!" Also featuring Javier Bardem, Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer. Mother (Jennifer Lawrence) and Him (Javier) live happily in a secluded paradise until two uninvited guests (Harris and Pfeiffer) comes over and disrupts their quiet life. As more guests arrive, mother is forced to revisit everything she knows about love, devotion and sacrifice. See new clips from this movie below.
I remember when there was a time when sales people are doing door-to-door and it freaked us out when we heard news about families massacred or robbed. You'll never know what their real motives are and I hope it doesn't happen to any of us.
"mother!" opens in the Philippines September 30, distributed by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.

I was in all attention for The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 movie which I saw last Friday. The new chapter in Katniss Everdeen's (Jennifer Lawrence) life and being recruited as the Mockingjay against the Capitol and President Snow got me at the edge of my seat anticipating scene after scene.
Just a summary of the memorable scenes in the movie:
- Plutarch's rea
- ction on Katniss negotiating with President Coin and almost not agreeing on the terms.
- Katniss' video produced by District 13 in recruiting the other districts to revolt against the Capitol. As they shot capturing Katniss' feelings against a burning district, they got the The video was done so awesome and of good quality despite the war setting.
- The Mockingjay Song. The lyrics and melody resounds to me until to this day whenever I see posts about the movie.
- President Snow discovering that the soldiers were at the Tribute Center. The evil smirk f*cks the whole plan up.
- Peeta choking Katniss. The eyes and thin figure scared the hell out of me. The make up and all is well-achieved.
I can't wait for the next movie!
The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1 is still playing in theaters and distributed by Pioneer Films. Thank you to Photo Chat for inviting me.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE movie review
ohmskiNovember 21, 2013catching fire, jennifer lawrence, josh hutcherson, panem, quarter quell, the hunger games

going on Book 2 of The Hunger Games trilogy, Catching Fire already got me more hooked and really excited. the scenes are gradually getting intense, and Jennifer Lawrence's beauty more flourished here.
the people of Panem starts a rebellion after the win of District 12's Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. President Snow takes a move to contain the rebellion and punish the youngest victors. timing with the 75th Hunger Games, he summons all victors from the districts to join the Quarter Quell. this would be very difficult for Katniss and Peeta and they learn the ways of the Capitol to be accepted, without thinking about what happened during the Games.
there were a lot of very sad scenes in the movie especially when Gale was flogged in public. but there were a lot of amusing things happening like Effie's costume, Katniss' wedding gown, the Quarter Quell arena and the remote coverage of Katniss and Peeta's interview. very well presented.
there really are more things to be expected on the next movie. but i hope they'll just do it in one clip for the conclusion instead of dividing the last part of the trilogy into 2.
for giving me a chance of watching this, thank you to Solaire Resorts. until next #SolaireSpecialScreening.

Lionsgate Films made an amazing adaptation of the famous novel by Suzanne Collins. it's about a girl named Katniss Everdeen who became a tribute for her district in the Hunger Games. the Hunger Games is opening in theaters worldwide on March 23 2012.
it was set in the distant future, in a place called Panem which was known as United States. and it was divided in 12 districts. every year, the Hunger Games is held choosing tributes from ages 12 - 18 in order to bring honor back to their district. the Hunger Games also serves as a reminder for the 12 districts about the Capitol's authority and a punishment for the rebellion 70 years ago when a 13th district was destroyed.
in the Hunger Games, the chosen tributes puts out a show where one should stay alive. thus, they have to use their skills, wit and even charm in order to get sponsors to help them out while they are inside the games arena. like the Olympics, the Hunger Games is the most watched show during its entirety.
for those who are not fully aware of what the Hunger Games is, it was really brutal watching it on film. more to expect when you read the book. violent hunting skills and blood drench dying tribute which is a very tragic thing to see. i thought it was a little hi-tech but you can only see it in the Capitol area where the advancements are. the people from the Capitol dress in their multi-colored and eccentric designs like Lady Gaga.
what's sad in the story is how the Capitol made the brutal Hunger Games into a public entertainment and minors are playing the game. an eye opener why people in power be able to dictate and manipulate people under them. this will be noticed to scenes not close to the end where an uprising is done.
since this is a trilogy, the Hunger Games can live independently as it is. the balance of sci-fi, action, drama and love story is well executed to this production. but i can see it as a combined Big Brother and Survivor type of games -- where you will see the drama and alliances formed inside a controlled environment. nonetheless, i enjoyed it.
