Experience arts at a whole new level at PETA Theater Center starting today until October 31. A line up of different productions executing feelings, thoughts and other thought-provoking issues that mirror individuals and society. Imaginarium will develop appreciation to a variety of visual arts, expressionism in theater, dance, music, film, fashion, improv, food and beverage, spoken word and flow arts.
Here's the full schedule of the festival. I've already seen Dani Girl by The Sandbox Collective. A young girl's imaginative journey to find the answer to the question, "Why Cancer?" ENGKWENTRO: Brotherhood VS Society

from the promising director, and recipient of Lion of the Future and Horizon's Prize in the Venice film festival, Pepe Diokno, we are able to see the film "ENGKWENTRO" a story of brotherhood in the cruel society.

SYNOPSIS

Inspired by true events, 'Engkwentro' tells the story of Richard and Raymond, two teenage brothers on opposite sides of a gang war. Richard is the leader of his gang, 'Bagong Buwan' ('New Moon') while Raymond is just being inducted into 'Batang Dilim' ('Children of the Night'), a rival gang led by charming solvent boy, Tomas. Complications arise at a deadly midnight 'engkwentro' (clash), when Tomas gives Raymond the task of killing his older brother.

All this happens while the City Death Squad lurks the streets. This real-life vigilante group is allegedly backed by the omnipresent Mayor Danilo Dularte Suarez, and is responsible for many unsolved murders of teen gangsters. Today, they are hunting down Richard. Will they take the younger brother, too?

you have two sections for this movie. each section is like you're watching a Blairwitch project because the camera runs non-stop to get every scene. so in that sense, you can say that the actors really know their part and how every scene should be delivered. Felix Roco's acting in his first major role is not bad. and Director Pepe Diokno really deserve those awards and making the best out of his cheap budget.

but on the other note, we should all be aware and also be vigilant of what's happening around us. we should all be protective of the rights of every person whether or not he or she is in the position. poverty really strikes and changes demeanor of every person. however, though we have people that should straighten things up, let us not allow them to just use their hands of steel and hide their false actions.

ENGKWENTRO will be shown in SM Cinemas on December 11-13 2009 only. for more information, visit www.engkwentro.com

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY movie review

this is a documentation of a couple in exploring the phenomena that is happening around their house. Katie and Mica, living in California, has been feeling a strange burden inside their house.

Mica and his camera, is very much eager to find and capture the events that are disturbing his fiancee. later on they found out that a demon has been following Katie since she was younger and wants to get her from Mica. a lack of help from spiritual questors and a bad atmosphere occurred between the two that gave the demon the strength to finally get Katie's body.

probably one of the most recommendable scariest films of today. i don't want to scare you or something, but this has given me the greatest goosebumps in a long time. especially when the manifestations of the unknown goes stronger and when you check out the time of its recording.

filmmaking wise, this really looked realistic. how they made the actions, shadows and even the movements made me hide my face with my bag as i watch the movie. if you want to go to sleep, go for another stuff that might amuse you after seeing the movie.

no wonder it won an award from the Scarefest.
