DITO kick starts 2025 by landing major global awards in Barcelona

DITO is Now the Fastest Mobile Network in the Philippines!

Say hello to the new fastest mobile network in the country.
DITO Telecommunity, the fastest-growing telco provider in the country, proved its speed superiority in 5G and overall experience as independent mobile analytics company Opensignal awarded DITO as the Fastest Mobile Network in the Philippines, outranking Smart in the speed race.

Based on Opensignal's October 2024 Mobile Network Experience report, DITO dominated the awards and won in 14 categories, exemplifying the young telco as the country's most awarded and fastest in 5G speeds and overall experience.

In terms of speed, DITO sweeps all four speed awards across overall and 5G. DITO confirms its superiority in 5G download speed, boasting a speed of 287.2 Mbps, nearly double Smart's figure trailing with 147.5 Mbps and easily surpassing Globe’s 95.2 Mbps. Users also see the fastest overall download speeds on DITO's network at 34.6 Mbps with the two telco giants Smart and Globe behind at 28.6 Mbps and 20.9 Mbps, respectively.

"Our Filipino users enjoy the fastest speeds on DITO's network," said Pierce Snyder, Sr. Market Research Analyst at Opensignal.

Moreover, DITO was hailed as the No. 1 mobile network for overall and 5G Video Experience, Games Experience, and Voice App Experience. These awards measure how subscribers enjoy seamless standard-definition video streaming, gaming, and quality over-the-top (OTT) voice services.

To cap it off, DITO received massive recognition for its availability, quality, and reliability- a validation of DITO's promise to provide accessible, reliable, and inclusive high-speed connectivity. DITO Extends Support to Typhoon Kristine Victims

In response to the recent wraths caused by typhoon Kristine, DITO Telecommunity provided technological and funding support to communities heavily affected by the recent calamity.

Through DITO's platform Galing DITO CampX, a school caravan program aimed at empowering students with the company's digital products and services. DITO, in partnership with Batangas State University (BSU), recently held a school concert featuring Galing DITO ambassadors and Pinoy pop boy group Alamat. Ticket sales amounting to Php 250,000 were donated to "PB is UNITED, PB is ONE for Batangas," BSU's fundraising campaign, to support immediate relief efforts such as essential supplies, temporary shelters, food packs, and other rebuilding efforts.

Part of the proceeds also went to the construction of a Multi-Faith Chapel, supporting BSU's initiative towards creating a space for unity and reflection around the school campus.

"At DITO, we believe in the strength of community and the power of coming together in times of adversity," said Evelyn Jimenez, DITO Chief Revenue Officer for Consumer Business. "Our hearts go out to those affected by typhoon Kristine, and through this event and our other efforts, we aim to bring relief and hope to those in need. "The typhoon left devastated hearts, but on the other hand, we're glad to see the ‘Bayanihan’ spirit and strong community resilience, especially in the eyes of the students. We're also thankful for DITO's support; it increased the morale of our students, and the funds provided essential support to the victims of the typhoon," said Ran Drick Kenneth Umali, SSC President of BSU.
The Galing DITO CampX also recently went to Ateneo De Davao University, giving students access to non-stop entertainment and an opportunity to learn more about DITO's mobile and home products that suit their needs.

Enhanced technological support in Naga City
Meanwhile, in Naga City, DITO also provided technological support to aid the relief operations of typhoon Kristine's aftermath.

DITO supported the local government by providing mobile phones with SIM cards and load, which call line operators used. DITO also deployed several booths with free calls, WiFi access, and charging stations in Barangay Dayangdang, Lerma, and Triangulo.

Moreover, the local team also conducted immediate speed and network assessment, ensuring smooth and augmented network signals around the city.

"In times of crisis, connectivity is essential for emergency response and families to stay connected with their loved ones. We extended technological support in Naga City, ensuring reliable communication and internet access. We hope that these humble contributions aided relief efforts and facilitated efficient communication around the city," Jimenez said.

DITO Wins Five Awards at the 21st International Business Awards

DITO Telecommunity, the fastest-growing telco in the country, continues to prove its grounds as it recently bagged five awards at the recently concluded 21st International Business Awards (IBA) held in Istanbul, Turkey.

Known for its Carnival-like street parades featuring performers in colorful masks and traditional attire, the festival serves as a tribute to Bacolod’s identity as the "City of Smiles." This year, this grand festival marked its Sapphire Anniversary with lively performances, competitions, and engaging events.

DITO officially launched its latest product offering during its recent Next-Gen Home Connectivity Media Conference on October 18. DITO gathered several technology experts to share their insights and perspectives about RedCap technology and its contribution to Filipino households' digital transformations.

Guest speaker Abe Olandres, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Yugatech, shared that RedCap is a simplified and cost-effective 5G connection where users can enjoy the advantages of 5G without the need for high bandwidth He also explained that RedCap only operates on 5G Standalone networks, which can deliver the true 5G experience to Filipino households.
