Disney and Pixar won't leave us without a movie this 2021. They'd just released a teaser trailer of a new animated movie that talks about teenage life in Turning Red. But the catch is that "growing up is a beast."
The story is about Meilin Lee, an average Asian student and very human when calm and then transforms as a red panda while being stressed or when she's having a panic attack. Watch the trailer below.
For now, her mother only knows her secret. What would be the consequences when everybody in school and her community finds out? Aside from the battles in life that's already scary, being an animal as an alter ego would be another disaster.
The film is the latest from Domee Shi, who won the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film in 2018 with her Pixar-backed “Bao.” Coming to theaters in March 2022.
Disney Pixar's latest offering Luca is about a sea creature and his discovery of a new world on the land surface. Aside from the fun animated adventure presented in the most Italian way, its underlying themes of family, friendship and acceptance and unity are not left unnoticed.
Starting with two fishermen witnessing a legend with their two eyes, we can say how people and sea monsters alike became afraid of each other because of unfamiliarity. Then we are taken to life under the sea and how Luca's curiosity about the land surface were hindered by his own family and what he believed in. Thankfully, meeting Alberto made him realize that living in a new world and gaining experience might be the next best thing for him. Not to mention Vespa which got a lot of mentions in this film.
Then knowing Giulia, a wise, competitive and cordial human girl further introduced the world to Luca and that made him want to stay more. He learns about the universe, his old beliefs were not true and more. Because of Giulia's competitiveness, concealing their true identity as sea monsters allowed them to enjoy their new life. But they got a problem, they get to learn the bad side of the surface as diverse characters of human nature through Ercole, the town's aggressive top athlete.
Soon as his family knew about this, like any other kid who dreams about being independent and unaware of circumstances, Luca's family tried to ground him. But his arrogance helped him to discover more, he just still have to keep his secret and be extra careful not to get caught. He can call on different saints -- the Santa Mozzarella, Santo Pecorino and more. In an unfortunate event, the secret is revealed and whole community weighed in on whether they'll accept or reject the creature that they feared.
Luca like the past Pixar movies, really hits the emotions especially if friendship is treasured most. The best and worst times will come but it's more important to have somebody that will be there for you even if you can get in trouble. Luca wins two sides of the coin and was able to bridge the differences of both worlds.
Giulia, Alberto and Luca

Disney and Pixar is making new waves in the release of the trailer of The Incredibles 2!
In this new adventure, our favorite superhero family balances work and homemaking as Bob was left with the kids as Elastigirl takes off to fight crime with a new villain. Watch the trailer below:
Awesome and incredible is definitely how to put it and here are a few takes on the trailer:
Violet gets control as a bigger sister for Dash, teaching him about proper table manners.
Felt poor for Bob when his ego was stepped on as the government solely chooses Elastigirl for the job.
New house, new life! Dash loves mom's new job.
Bob's parenting skills which many can relate to.
There's Edna Mode, darlings. Nuff said.
And at least we know now that Frozone already knows where to find his supersuit.
When you enjoy good graphics mixed with some adventure and good laughs, you always forget that Disney Pixar movies will hit you hard and unexpectedly shed a tear. That's what Coco delivered and I am happy that Pixar is back with its trademark in story telling.
Coco's family-oriented theme is no different from the Filipino culture even it is set in Mexico. Strong family ties, love for one another and sometimes holding grudges that would go as far as death is very much familiar to two countries that patronize telenovelas as past time. But most importantly, the Day of the Dead connects all of us in remembering our ancestors and all the good things they've spent while they were alive.
The story really hit me as I remember my grandmother with Mama Coco. I was really close to her and really felt sad about what happened to her by the end of the movie. But I am also happy that she was able to reunite with her parents in the afterlife. For now, I'm worried where to get my ancestors' photos for the ofrenda so we can remember them every year. But they are in my prayers every day.
Coco is a colorful musical filled with heart and you will definitely remember.
Family reunions are ablaze with love in the latest trailer of Disney Pixar's Coco. Take a first look on the video and initial poster. Coco will be in theaters, November 22.

Check the trailer below:
The film is directed by Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 3), co-directed by Adrian Molina (story artist Monsters University) and produced by Darla K. Anderson (Toy Story 3). Miguel is voiced by newcomer Anthony Gonzales, Hector by Gael GarcÃa Bernal and featuring Benjamin Bratt as late musician and Miguel's idol, Ernesto dela Cruz.
Would it be the end of Lightning McQueen? No. It will just be another chapter in the life of our favorite racer from Radiator Springs, but what would happen when there is a new breed of racers more advanced than our Lightning McQueen himself? He cannot rely on his speed that much and should keep up with the advancing technology in Cars 3. The sequel plays in cinemas starting July 26.
In this sequel of Cars, Lightning McQueen slowly gets to the back of the game as rookies step up with new technology and advancements. Competitors especially Jackson Storm keeps him the trail dirt until McQueen pushed himself to hard resulting to a hard accident. His sponsors also start to come off leaving him to loyal Radiator Spring squad and Rusteez. Everything else fails that he has to give in with the advancements and play like how the rookies do it. But when he realizes that he cannot catch up, he is on with the least thing he can think of, to retire.
A personal trainer comes for help to bring back McQueen and will this partner be the solution to take him back in the game? Cruz Ramirez and Lightning McQueen go to an adrenalin adventure that they'll never forget.
The crew of Radiator Springs is back. Mater and the gang are still loyal supporters of Lightning McQueen. However, the story didn't much connect with me as I think they only made the movie to maintain the franchise. When they say that the Pizza Van is in every Pixar movie, I failed to find it. Can you find it for me?
Cars 3 opens July 26 in theaters nationwide. A special treat for Cars fans by Disney Pixar is they are bringing a life-sized Lightning McQueen around Manila. Racer Matteo Guidicelli graces the unveiling of Lightning McQueen.
We just love Dory with that being positive and very encouraging even if she's very forgetful. Finding Dory opens in cinemas June 15 and here is the exciting trailer that also reveals Dory's destiny.
We'll fall in love again with the sea as we join Dory with friends Nemo and Marlin on a search for answers about her past. What can she remember? Who are her parents? And where did she learn to speak Whale?
Ellen DeGeneres returns to voice everyone’s favorite forgetful blue tang. Joining her in the voice cast are Ed O’Neill as Hank, a cantankerous octopus; Ty Burrell as Bailey, a misguided beluga whale; and Kaitlin Olson as Destiny, a kind-hearted whale shark.
“Finding Dory” also features the voices of Albert Brooks, Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy.
Before herds go wild in theaters, let's know the following species that will bring us an adorable prehistoric story in The Good Dinosaur. (in alphabetical order, click on the photos to enlarge)
Know the characters in this wonderful and inspiring Pixar movie.
BUCK (Marcus Scribner) is Arlo’s brother: they’re the same age, but Buck is bigger, stronger and a little rambunctious. He likes to tease his fearful brother as often as he can—and Arlo is an easy target. Buck’s size, strength and confidence allow him to do things that Arlo can’t imagine doing—like ripping a tree out of the ground with his teeth. LIBBY (Maleah Padilla). Arlo's sister Libby is a capable and willful girl who can plow a mean field. The little trickster has a great sense of humor, and loves playing silly pranks on her family.
BUTCH (Sam Elliott) is a rugged and intimidating Tyrannosaurus Rex—showcased by the gruesome scar across his face. A veteran rancher who’s a real pro when it comes to herding longhorns, Butch encourages his kids Ramsey and Nash to learn by doing, hurling them into one hairy situation after another. Butch likes nothing better than trading war-stories over a campfire at the end of a long day.
MOMMA (Frances McDormand). A loving wife and mother, Momma is smart and quick-witted. She’s a hard worker with a lot of love for her family, and she keeps her children and their farm in order. Her quiet strength is the backbone of the family.
An enthusiastic young Tyrannosaurus Rex, NASH (AJ Buckley) lives for adventure, and loves when something unexpected breaks up the routine of rounding up longhorns with his father, Butch, and his big sister Ramsey. He isn’t the sharpest of spurs and has trouble keeping track of their herd, but his mischievous charm and positive attitude make him good company out on the range.
PET COLLECTOR (Peter Sohn) is a mysterious Styracosaurus who lives in the wilderness. Like Arlo, he harbors unreasonable fears. His ability to blend into his surroundings helps—along with an unusual (but not exactly fierce) collection of forest critters he’s recruited to protect him.
POPPA (Jeffrey Wright). Brave and selfless, Poppa is a devoted husband and father, working tirelessly to make a life for his family on their farm. He has a soft spot for Arlo, his small and fearful son, and takes special care of him as he grows up. Poppa believes in Arlo and knows that with enough perseverance, Arlo can overcome his fear and make his mark.
The PTERODACTYLS (Steve Zahn, Mandy Freund and Steven Clay Hunter) are a search-and-“rescue" team of five. They like to sit back and let the often-treacherous storms in this part of the world do their dirty work, then reap the benefits of the devastation. But when these flying hunter-scavengers set their sights on Spot and Arlo, they’re in for a big surprise.
A fearless, whip-smart and no-nonsense Tyrannosaurus Rex rancher, RAMSEY (Anna Paquin) loves the challenge of driving a herd of longhorns with her father, Butch, and her little brother Nash. Ramsey has a lively, outgoing personality—she likes good jokes, tells a mean story and has a soft spot for those in need.
RAPTORS (Dave Boat, Carrie Paff, Calum Mackenzie Grant and John Ratzenberger) prey on the prized herd of longhorns that belong to Butch and his Tyrannosaurus Rex family. Raptors—or Rustlers, as Butch calls them—sport wiry, feathered bodies and hardly compare in size or strength to a T-Rex. But as a group, the Raptors pose quite a threat, and even a T-Rex may need to call in reinforcements before tangling with them.
