Cinemas are back today!

After a long 19 months of staying indoors, the new cases of COVID-19 are getting lower and lower and the government already allowed a few businesses to operate under Alert Level 2. This still includes a reduced capacity inside establishments and cinemas is one of the industries that we're trying to save.

With minimum health protocols being observed, the CEAP (Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines) will adhere to IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force) guidelines to maintain that these indoor venues will be safe and entertaining for everyone. One of the main guideline is to have 30 percent capacity and only fully-vaccinated persons are allowed to enter theaters.

A study conducted by a German entity concluded that cinemas are generally safe spaces giving the following reasons:

• People spend an average of only two hours at a cinema
• People inside the cinema simply sit down and face the same direction which is known to reduce transmission risks
• People are not talking to each other during a movie, which minimizes possibility of infection

• Moviegoers to present authentic vaccination card

• Availability of hand sanitizers at the cinema entrance
• Mandatory hand-washing every 30 minutes for cinema employees
• Deep cleaning between screenings

It is also highly encouraged for you to STAY AT HOME should you feel uneasy or a little sick.

Aside from that, reopening of cinemas will also revive jobs that were shut down during the pandemic which includes the following:

• Creative & Production: Directors, screenwriters, talents, editors, crew, bit players, caterers and runners
• Distribution: Logistics team, production checkers, monitoring team, back office support
• Exhibition: Cinema ticket-sellers, usher-porters, projectionists, snack bar personnel, janitors, branch management team
• Others: Cinema suppliers, event organizers, employees of stores and restaurants around cinema premises

It is a sign of relief for these personnel as they happily go back to their pre-pandemic routines while providing us entertaining films.

SENIOR YEAR movie review

most of us have went through the toughest times in high school. but we all also admit that even though we have the most difficult endeavors with the teachers and even classmates, we can say that we enjoyed that period in our lives.

that's what we can see in SENIOR YEAR - a movie by Jerrold Tarog. it features students in co-ed institution that undergo certain circumstances as an individual. in life, we experience pressure, encounter gossips, bullied, rotting relationships, love and sometimes, confusion. but as we are struggling, we find people who are there to support us, that know how to get out of it, resolve it and move on.

in every aspect, there is a certain attack and will make you realize that you've been in that part. you can certainly relate to what these children portray. actually, the acting is seamless and effortless. sometimes i see myself in the shoes of these kids. and then i realize that i survived high school and i laugh at the instances that i can relate to.

and 10 years after our graduation in high school, i am excited of how people come about with their lives. reunion might be not to far and there are a lot of things happened after that time.

the cast is composed of the students of a school in Alabang with the participation of professional actors like RJ Ledesma, Dimples Romana, LJ Reyes, Arnold Reyes, Che Ramos and Ina Feleo.

I've tried WINEMA first -- the SM Winema experience

i never had this much fun inside the theater. aside from viewing the trailers of upcoming movies this summer, SM Digital Cinema introduces a first in entertainment: the WINEMA!

WINEMA stands for WE INTERACT WITH THE CINEMA and it gave it's first shot with the media people during it's launch at SM Digital Cinema in SM Megamall. the whole theater turned into an arcade type gaming area and the participants are everybody!

the WINEMA plays two games, BOINK OUT and POWER CATCHER where people movements are captured be a camera in front of them. the movement controls the cursor or character in the screen. each game runs for 3 minutes so wave your hands up high and have fun.

here's the catch, if you beat the highest score made by the previous audience, each moviegoer will get a prize!

WINEMA has a lot of opportunities for advertising. i think you can put a banner of your brand or better to maximize your exposure by creating your own WINEMA game!
