THE BATMAN movie review

The Batman movie will be out on March 2 so you have to get your tickets in advance. While we have a new caped crusader in Robert Pattinson, right now we have to applaud him in his performance as Bruce Wayne and the Dark Knight.

Slowly parting from the "animated" presentation in the comics, The Batman gets the villains into darker and less kid-friendly costumes but still they are distinguished as Batman's enemies. The villains were established not just as Batman's enemies but of society that were corrupted of their freedom and resources. The movie strongly talks about each character's struggles which gave them their reasons to disturb Gotham.

And then I did not realize that this is Colin Farrell. Great job on the make up!

The Batman also revealed a different Robert Pattinson. This opened up a new element and something that I've never seen before. So deep and serious but really sends the feels. Somehow you may be able to connect to his character than the previous ones. WB also made some deliberate tweaks on the character that worked well. No fanfares on his costume and Batmobile and you're really in for the story.

The Batman opens in theaters, March 2. Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures PH. Follow #TheBatman on social media for more updates.

Zack Snyder's Justice League Movie Review

Sitting for 4 hours is unnoticeable while watching Zack Snyder's Justice League. This run redeems the 2017 movie that makes it a better version than Joss Whedon's. We don't hate Joss Whedon, but this movie is really JUST GREAT!
Picking up from the death of Superman in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Bruce Wayne (Batman) and Diana Prince (Wonder Woman) assembles a group of superhumans namely Arthur Curry (Aquaman), Barry Allen (The Flash) and Victor Stone (Cyborg) to take on an alien invasion lead by Steppenwolf. Aside from this invasion, the world is in the verge of extinction by the unity of the mother boxes.

From history, the unity of mother boxes was defeated by the powers of world defenders, including the participation of Green Lanterns - which was a great sequence by the way. The three mother boxes where hidden and protected from the return of Steppenwolf who is up for his revenge after thousands of years.

Earth defenders in the first invasion of Steppenwolf

I can say that this is a good origin storytelling, as we were able to deeply understand more of the characters of Aquaman, the Flash and Cyborg. They each take credit on their contributions to the team and showing equal importance. It is so action-packed, no boring moments, and as I've said, you can't notice the 4-hours while watching it. The Flash got his role more relevant in the Justice League and his contribution is very essential unlike from 2017's just a mere childish lad.

The Justice League (Cyborg, The Flash, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman)

The 6-part movie includes an epilogue that makes us look forward to another movie. For many people like me who does know more characters from the comics, I think we better start asking and read. DC is now establishing a more exciting future for their own movie universe.

Zack Snyder's Justice League casts Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa and Ray Fisher. Also with Diane Lane, Amy Adams and more. Now streaming only on HBO Go

THE LEGO BATMAN movie review

Lego sequel dedicated to the dark knight "The Lego Batman movie" takes you to Batman's personal, lonely life with added hilarious antics and lines that will hit right in the feels. I think this is better than the previous Lego movie that have to watch starting February 9 in theaters.
It doesn't take too long for you to love the movie. I remember every bit of it, from start to finish, I was giggling and laughing. Opening credits was already amusing. Batman is very conceited that he makes himself the reason why the others exist. The biggest reunion of our well-loved Batman characters and villains is already here. More than that, Warner Bros brings more of its characters in. I hope WB will produce an episode 1.5 where Batman meets Wildstyle before they meet Emmet from Lego Movie. There is also a very tough attack on DC's rival that you'll laugh your lungs out for the strong competitor.
Also, Robin is all of us. Fanboying or fangirling to our idols, almost wanting us to be adopted of some sort.
The one of the best things that happened here is the confrontation between Joker and Batman that is the funniest of all. This might be the first time that you'll pity him in your life.
I really wished that I could have watched it in 3D to appreciate the graphics more. I don't want to spoil you too much on what will be inside this movie. But as it is, again I'll say, you'll love it.

Now, I am excited for the next Lego movie. Here's the teaser:

From director Zack Snyder comes “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” starring Oscar winner Ben Affleck (“Argo”) as Batman/Bruce Wayne and Henry Cavill (“Man of Steel”) as Superman/Clark Kent in the characters’ first big-screen pairing.

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with each other, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it has ever known before.

Syder directed from a screenplay written by Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer, based on characters from DC Comics, including Batman, created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger, and Superman, created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The film is produced by Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder, with Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and David S. Goyer serving as executive producers.

Snyder’s behind-the-scenes creative team includes director of photography Larry Fong (“300,” “Watchmen”) and production designer Patrick Tatopoulos (“300: Rise of an Empire”), and from his “Man of Steel” team, editor David Brenner, costume designer Michael Wilkinson, visual effects supervisor John DJ DesJardin, and Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer (“The Lion King”) working in conjunction with composer Junkie XL (“Mad Max: Fury Road”).

BATMAN V SUPERMAN movie review

Good thing that I didn't expect too much from the latest WB/DC flick Batman V Superman since I have mixed reactions from the last Superman movie. Watching it last night first with the rest of the people in IMAX 3D theater was a superb experience because it surpassed all my expectations. Here's my review. Can't rate it from a scale of 10, but I can definitely say that it was very, very good and very, very entertaining.
I liked how they have connected the flick from Man of Steel as you will understand why there's such a war between Batman and Superman. The plot is somehow predictable but it turns into an intellectual discourse that the dark story of this movie makes it even cooler. In short, the screenplay and script is very well thought of and even non-geeks can relate to it.
There is a balance of feels for all the characters, Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill) and even Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot). Don't be biased so that you can love or hate their characters. This goes back to the last paragraph that the story and script is very nice. Lex Luthor, is also a likeable character here. Jesse Eisenberg delivered another attack on his role as Superman's super villain. Lois Lane had made herself somehow useful today. Not just a damsel in distress but made herself kind of a hero.
Props, costumes and of course, the Batmobile are just some of the awesome things that are happening in the film that shouldn't be left behind.

I again loved the speed and CGI of BvS especially when the three were already fighting on Doomsday. Matching with the powerful theme song that played in the background, BvS action is hard to defeat. Still you can set aside Batman's mortal being from the two Mega Humans, but still the teamwork is amazing.
BvS had my eyes glued to it and now I am looking forward for the next movie since I've already seen Easter Eggs this early. Opening Black Saturday, March 26. Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures Philippines.
