Meet your hosts for the 69th Miss Universe

Fresh off the press: Mario Lopez and Olivia Culpo will host the 69th Miss Universe beauty pageant happening this May 16 in the Las Vegas (May 17 in the Philippines)

TV Host Mario Lopez also hosted the competition in 2007 when Olivia Culpo also won as Miss Universe in 2012. We're wondering how they will conduct the pageant in the age of social distancing and Covid-free set up.

I think that since he is in his senior, it would be just alright for him to take extra precautions to be safe from the coronavirus. However, his fun character and hosting will be anticipated in the 70th Miss Universe pageant.

Congrats to Janine Tugonon

conratulations to our very own Janine Tugonon, 23-year-old Filipina for bringing home 1st runner up in the recently concluded Miss Universe beauty pageant. while Olivia Culpo from the USA wore the crown title as Miss Universe 2012.

in the event held in Planet Hollywood hotel, 88 candidates from all over the world vied for the crown. and it was very pleasing to everyone that Janine Tugonon gets included in the Top 16, Top 10 and most of all in the Top 5 together with Brazil (4th runner up), Australia (3rd runner up), Venezuela (2nd runner up) and USA. Janine Tugonon really stand out from the Caucasian and Latina beauties that moment and she was a crowd favorite even when the competition starts.

and more that the Filipinos bet on Miss Philippines after answering the big question very relaxed and with much poise. see the video below:

Judge Nigel Barker asked Miss Philippines, "As an international ambassador, do you believe that speaking English is a prerequisite to be Miss Universe?" to which she responded, "For me, Miss Universe is not about being able to speak a specific language, it's about being able to influence and inspire other people. No matter what language you speak, as long as you have the heart and a strong mind, you can become Miss Universe." - Silver Chips

while everyone is in ire of the results, 1st runner up would still be a very important position for Janine. as it was said, "in case the reigning Miss Universe can't fulfill her duties, the first runner-up will take over." our support for the winner, and of course to Janine, in fulfilling their duties as they promote good will throughout the world.
